The design response spectrum generally used in Korea is decided by the site coefficients determined by deterministic methodology, while it is based on probabilistic seismic hazard analysis. The design response spectrum has to be made using probabilistic method which includes uncertainties of ground motions and ground properties for coincide with probabilistic methodology of seismic hazard analysis. In this study probabilistic site coefficients were developed, which were defined by the results of site response analysis using a set of ground motion that was compatible with present seismic hazard map. The design response spectrum defined by probabilistic seismic coefficients resulted in lower spectrum in long period area and larger spectrum in short period area. Also, the maximum spectral accelerations in site class D and site class E were lower than one in site class C while in the previous design response spectrum the maximum spectral acceleration increased from site class A to E.

Based on random vibration theory, a procedure for calculating the dynamic response of the tall building to time-dependent random excitation is developed. In this paper, the fluctuating along- wind load is assumed as time-dependent random process described by the time-independent random process with deterministic function during a short duration of time. By deterministic function A(t)=1-exp($-{\beta}t$), the absolute value square of oscillatory function is represented from author's studies. The time-dependent random response spectral density is represented by using the absolute value square of oscillatory function and equivalent wind load spectrum of Solari. Especially, dynamic mean square response of the tall building subjected to fluctuating wind loads was derived as analysis function by the Cauchy's Integral Formula and Residue Theorem. As analysis examples, there were compared the numerical integral analytic results with the analysis fun. results by dynamic properties of the tall uilding.

This paper demonstrates the validity of spectral element analysis for modeling the high-frequency dynamic behaviors of a beam with a surface-bonded piezoelectric wafer through a laboratory test. In the spectral element analysis, the high-frequency electro-mechanical interaction can be considered properly with relatively low computational cost compared to the finite element analysis. In the verification test, a cantilever beam with a surface-bonded piezoelectric wafer is forced to be in steady-state motion by exerting the harmonic driving voltage signal on the piezoelectric wafer. A laser scanning vibrometer is used to obtain the overall dynamic responses of the structure such as resonance frequencies, the associated mode shapes, and frequency response functions up to 20 kHz. Then, these dynamic responses from the test are compared to those computed by the spectral element analysis. A two-dimensional finite analysis is conducted to obtain the asymptotic solutions for the comparison purpose as well.

This study develops an empirical prediction equation of spectral acceleration responses of earthquakes which can induce structural damages. Ground motion records representing hazards of low-to-moderate seismic regions were selected and organized with several influential factors affecting the response spectra. The empirical equation and estimator coefficients for acceleration response spectra were then proposed using a robust nonlinear optimization coupled with a regression analysis. For analytical verification of the prediction equation, response spectra used for low-to-moderate seismic regions were estimated and the predicted results were comparatively evaluated with measured response spectra. As a result, the predicted shapes of response spectra can simulate the graphical shapes of measured data with high accuracy and most of predicted results are distributed inside range of correlation of variation (COV) of 30% from perfectly correlated lines.

The analysis of remote sensing data depends on sensor specifications that provide accurate and consistent measurements. However, it is not easy to establish confidence and consistency in data that are analyzed by different sensors using various radiometric scales. For this reason, the cross-calibration method is used to calibrate remote sensing data with reference image data. In this study, we used an airborne hyperspectral image in order to calibrate a multispectral image. We presented an automatic cross-calibration method to calibrate a multispectral image using hyperspectral data and spectral mixture analysis. The spectral characteristics of the multispectral image were adjusted by linear regression analysis. Optimal endmember sets between two images were estimated by spectral mixture analysis for the linear regression analysis, and bands of hyperspectral image were aggregated based on the spectral response function of the two images. The results were evaluated by comparing the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), the Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM), and average percentage differences. The results of this study showed that the proposed method corrected the spectral information in the multispectral data by using hyperspectral data, and its performance was similar to the manual cross-calibration. The proposed method demonstrated the possibility of automatic cross-calibration based on spectral mixture analysis.
The ocean Scanning Multi-spectral Imager (OSMI) is a payload on the KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite (KOMPSAT) to perform worldwide ocean color monitoring f the study of biological oceanography. OSMI performs solar and dark calibrations for on-orbit instrument calibration. The purpose of the solar calibration is to monitor the degradation of imaging performance for each pixel of 6 spectral bands and to correct the degradation effect on OSMI image during the ground station date processing. The design, the operation concept, and the radiometric characteristics of the solar calibration are investigated. A linear model of image response and a solar calibration radiance model are proposed to study the instrument characteristics using the solar calibration data. The performance of spectral responsivity and spatial response uniformity. The first solar calibration data and the analysis results are important references for further study on the on-orbit stability of OSMI response during its lifetime.

The Spectral Fatigue Analysis is representative fatigue life assessment method for vessels. This Analysis is performed generally for the whole vessel and many assessment sites. The spectral fatigue analysis is performed through the process of hydrodynamic response analysis, global structural analysis, local structural analysis and calculation of fatigue damage. In these processes, fatigue damage is affected by many variables. The representative variables are S-N curve data, wave scatter data, wave spectrum, bandwidth effect and etc. In this paper, the effects of these variables to the fatigue damage are analyzed through the spectral fatigue analysis for 170k LNGC.

In this paper the nonstationary response of accelerating vehicle is firstly obtained by using nonstationary road roughness model in time domain. To get the result of nonstationary response in frequency domain, the maximum entropy method is used for Processing nonstationary response of vehicle in frequency domain. The three-dimensional transient maximum entropy spectrum (MES) of response is given.
The main object of this study is to develop an accurate and convenient method for the response analysis of offshore structures in real sea states. A numerical procedure is described for predicting the motion responses and tension variations of the ISSC TLP in multi-directional irregular waves. The developed numerical approach in the frequency domain is based on acombination of the three dimensional source distribution method, the dynamic response analysis method, and the spectral analysis method. Frequency domain analysis in the multi-directional irregular waves is expanded to a time domain analysis by using a convolution integral after obtaining the impulse response by Fourier transformation. The results of the comparison between responses in the frequency and time domain confirmed the validity of the proposed approach.

Analysis of the vibration characteristic for cylindrical shell is more complex than plates since the coupling effects are considered on three dimensions. Based on Love's equation, spectral finite element method(SFEM) is introduced to predict frequency response function of finite circular cylindrical shell in the air with simply supported - free boundary condition without simplifying the equation of motion. And for the radiated noise analysis of cylindrical shell, indirect boundary element method(BEM) is applied using out-of-plane displacements as an input from structural vibration analysis. Comparisons of the structural vibration results by the spectral finite element method and commercial code, NASTRAN(FEM based) are carried out. Likewise, for verification of radiated noise analysis results, commercial code, SYSNOISE(BEM based) are used.
