환기부족 구획화재에서 수직 개구부의 형상 및 위치가 화재특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Geometry and Location of an Vertical Opening on the Fire Characteristics in the Under-Ventilated Compartment Fire)

  • 실규모 환기부족 구획화재에서 수직 개구부의 형상 및 위치변화에 따른 열 및 화학적 화재특성 변화를 수치적으로 검토하기 위하여, 이론적 최대 공기 유입량을 결정하는 환기인자($A\sqrt{h}$)와 heptane pool 화재의 질량 감소율이 모든 조건에 대하여 동일하게 설정되었다. 주요 결과로서, 출입문 형상의 변화는 구획 내부의 열 및 화학적특성 변화에 큰 영향을 미친다. 창문 위치의 변화는 화재지속시간 및 재순환 유동구조를 포함한 추가적인 화재특성의 복잡한 변화를 초래하였다. 이들 결과는 개구부 유동 및 연료/공기의 혼합현상을 포함한 다차원 유동 및 화재특성을 통해 상세히 분석되었다.

MMORPG 게임엔진의 성능개선을 위한 분할공간에서의 충돌검출 (A Collision detection from division space for performance improvement of MMORPG game engine)

  • 최근 하드웨어의 급속한 발전으로 3차원 그래픽의 적용 분야도 다양화 되어가고 있다. 3차원 가상도시를 배경으로 하는 3D MMORPG(Massive Multi-play Online Role Playing Game)와 같은 게임을 설계하기 위하여 필요한 세부 기술은 다양한 이론이 병합되어야 한다. 3D MMORPG 게임엔진은 거대한 3차원 도시의 수많은 빌딩과 개체론 실시간으로 빠르게 처리되어야 하기 때문에 렌드링의 처리뿐만 아니라 속도에 영향을 미치는 많은 요소를 가지고 있다. 이러한 게임엔진의 설계에서 중요하게 다루어지는 것은 처리 속도이다. 기존의 3D MMORPG에서 충돌검출의 방법으로 경계상자를 적용하지만 이 방법은 거대지형에서의 충돌 검출 시 속도가 느려지기 때문에 적용하기에는 바람직하지 않다. 따라서 본 논문은 거대지형상의 3D MMORPG 게임에서 발생되는 충돌검출 속도를 향상시키고자 한다. 즉 이러한 처리에서 본 논문은 다음과 같이 제시한다. 첫째 폴리곤의 충돌검사를 모두 하지 않고 빠른 시간에 충돌검출을 판단할 수 있다. 둘째 경계상자의 충돌검출에 대한 비용이 3차원 개체 개수에 대해 비례하여 증가하는 데에 대한 개선 방법을 제시한다. 그 처리 과정은 3D MMORPG 넓은 가상공간을 동적으로 처리하기 위해서는 제한적 OSP를 사용하여 공간분할을 한다. 분할된 3차원 공간을 계층적 경계상자를 이용함으로써 충돌검출에 필요한 개체를 검색하고 이론 통하여 충돌검출 속도를 개선시킬 수 있을 것이다.

  • 헬리콥터 비행 시뮬레이션을 위한 로터 운동방정식을 implicit formulation 형태로 유도하였다. 좌표계 사이의 상대운동을 고려한 일반화된 벡터 kinematics 를 유도하고 이를 적용하여 브레이드 임의 위치 에서 관성속도 및 관성가속도를 구하였다. 유도된 속도 및 가속도 벡터를 이용하여 플래핑, 리드래그 및 토오크 방정식 등을 implicit form으로 유도하였다. 브레이드 스팬에 따른 공간 적분 방법을 살펴보고, 다양한 힌지형상 및 힌지배열 순서에 관계없이 응용영역을 확장할 수 있음을 밝혔다. DAE(Differential Algebraic Equation) 형태를 갖는 본 연구의 결과식을 이용하여 동특성 계산을 위한 시간적분법을 검토하였다.

Engineering Realization of Full Attitude System Based On GPS Carrier Phase and MEMS IMU

  • This paper describes the design and realization of full attitude system based on MEMS IMU and GPS carrier phase. The work can be divided into two parts: First, initial heading is determined by using two GPS receivers. And this paper discusses the usage of space geometry conditions to reduce the range of ambiguity search. The method presented in this paper was tested on the static. On the static condition, an accuracy better than 0.06 degrees for heading for 3.48m long baseline has been achieved. Integration of GPS and low cost MEMS IMU are used to realize the real-time heading attitude system. Second, level attitude (pitch and roll) is determined using the method of frequency-velocity for the feedback control. At the same time, the method using the attitude based on MEMS IMU to help determination of the range of ambiguity search is proposed. The results done on the sea show that an alternative means to provide real-time, cost-effective, accurate and reliable attitude information for attitude surveys. Though motivated by a big ships application, the design can be applied to other vehicles.

  • Tumor hemodynamics in vascular state is numerically simulated using pressure node solution. The tumor angiogenesis pattern in our previous study is used for the geometry of vessel networks. For tumor angiogenesis, the equation that governed angiogenesis comprises a tumor angiogenesis factor (TAF) conservation equation in time and space, which is solved numerically using the Galerkin finite element method. A stochastic process model is used to simulate vessel formation and vessel. In this study, we use a two-dimensional model with planar vessel structure. Hemodynamics in vessel is assumed as incompressible steady flow with Newtonian fluid properties. In parent vessel, arterial pressure is assigned as a boundary condition whereas a constant terminal pressure is specified in tumor inside. Kirchhoff's law is applied to each pressure node to simulate the pressure distribution in vessel networks. Transient pressure distribution along with angiogenesis pattern is presented to investigate the effect of tumor growth in tumor hemodynamics.

  • In this study, we design a scheduling system for painting shop, called HYPOS(Hyundai heavy industry Painting shop Operating System) and develop a system implementing the design. The painting shop operations are currently scheduled manually by experts. Manual scheduling is a serious time consuming job and generally can not guarantee a full optimality. Building a traditional heuristic scheduling system lot this problem, however, is not promising because there are various kinds of constraints to be satisfied including space allocation of shipbuilding blocks in a painting cell. We, therefore, adopt a spatial scheduling approach and develop scheduling algorithms based on field-oriented scheduling heuristics and computational geometry. And we show that the algorithms can successfully be applied to the painting shop scheduling problem.

Meromorphic functions, divisors, and proective curves: an introductory survey

  • The subject matter of this survey has to do with holomorphic maps from a compact Riemann surface to projective space, which are also called algebrac curves; the theory we survey lies at the crossroads of function theory, projective geometry, and commutative algebra (although we should mention that the present survey de-emphasizes the algebraic aspect). Algebraic curves have been vigorously and continuously investigated since the time of Riemann. The reasons for the preoccupation with algebraic curves amongst mathematicians perhaps have to do with-other than the usual usual reason, namely, the herd mentality prompting us to follow the leads of a few great pioneering methematicians in the field-the fact that algebraic curves possess a certain simple unity together with a rich and complex structure. From a differential-topological standpoint algebraic curves are quite simple as they are neatly parameterized by a single discrete invariant, the genus. Even the possible complex structures of a fixed genus curve afford a fairly complete description. Yet there are a multitude of diverse perspectives (algebraic, function theoretic, and geometric) often coalescing to yield a spectacular result.

Parallel Genetic Algorithm based on a Multiprocessor System FIN and Its Application to a Classifier Machine

  • Genetic Algorithm(GA) is a method of approaching optimization problems by modeling and simulating the biological evolution. GA needs large time-consuming, so ti had better do on a parallel computer architecture. Our proposed system has a VLSI-oriented interconnection network, which is constructed from a viewpoint of fractal geometry, so that self-similarity is considered in its configuration. The approach to Parallel Genetic Algorithm(PGA) on our proposed system is explained, and then, we construct the classifier system such that the set of samples is classified into weveral classes based on the features of each sample. In the process of designing the classifier system, We have applied PGA to the Traveling Salesman Problem and classified the sample set in the Euclidean space into several categories with a measure of the distance.

  • The results are summarized as what follows: 1) The modeling of thin beams, which is a continuous system, into a two DOF system yields satisfactory results for the chaotic vibrations. 2) The concept of "natural forcing function" derived from the eigenfunction of the bifurcation mode is very useful for the natural responses of the system. 3) Among the perturbation techniques, HBM is a good estimate for the response when the geometry of motion is known. 4) It is known that there exist periodic solutions of coupled mode response for somewhat large damping and forcing amplitude, as well as weak damping and forcing. 5) The route-to-chaos related with lateral instability in thin beams is composed of period-doubling and quasiperiodic process and finally follows discontinuous period-doubling process. 6) The chaotic vibrations are verified by using Poincare maps, FFT's, time responses, trajectories in the configuration space, and the very powerful technique Lyapunov characteristics exponents.exponents.

IR 및 UV센서를 이용한 레이저 용접시의 실시간 모니터링 DSP 시스템 (A DSP System for On-line Monitoring in Laser Welding Using a IR and UV Sensors)

  • We designed a weld monitoring system with UV and IR sensors using a embedded DSP controller for implementing a distribution system; running stand alone and communication with outside by industrial standard protocols. Also this system provided a USB port in order to be acquiring data in PC. The user interface program in PC visualized the IR and W data in time, frequency and state space. A correlation of IR and UV signals showed closely related to weld quality. A rapid change of geometry can be found through a moving average filter. And the average value of IR signal at an interval represented a welding width and depth. Through these results, we proposed a monitoring algorithm for a integer type DSP.
