  • This paper presents an accurate algorithm for fault location of a single phase to earth fault on a two-parallel transmission line using only one-terminal data. It is impossible to calculate the accurate fault distance, because of the unknown fault resistance and fault current at the fault point. The faulted line circuit and the zero-sequence circuit of two-parallel line are used as a fault location model, which the source impedance of the remote end is not involved. The algorithm can eliminate the effect of load flow and the fault resistance in calculating the fault location.

  • Leaks in underground pipelines can cause social, environmental and economical problems. One of a good contermeasures of leaks Is to find and repair of leak points of pipes. Leak noise is a good source to identify the location of leak points of pipelines. Although there have been several methods to detect the leak location with leak noise, such as listening rods, hydrophones or ground microphones, they were not so efficient tools beca. In this paper, two accelermeters are used to detect leak locations which could provide an easier and efficient method. The filtering, signal processing and algorithm is described for the detection of leak location. A 120m-long pipeline system for experiment is installed and the results with the system show that the algorithm with the two accelerometers gives very accurate pinpointing of leaks. Theoretical analysis of sound wave propagation speed in underground pipes is also described.

  • In this paper, a fault location algorithm is presented, which uses novel signal processing techniques and takes a new paradigm to overcome some drawbacks of the conventional methods. This new method for fault location on electric power transmission lines uses only one-terminal fault signals. The main feature of the method is hat it uses the high frequency components in fault signal and considers the influence of the source network by using a traveling wave propagation characteristics. As a result, we can develop a high speed, good accuracy fault locator.

  • DIRCM is a device that deception missiles by directing the light source to missile seeker with infra-red laser based turret. The effectiveness of the device is affected by changes of the turret's Field of View (FoV), and also influence of the interference devices determines the effect of the DIRCM's effectiveness. Therefore finding mounting location for DIRCM is critical parameter for the DIRCM's effectiveness. so we applied stiffness review, interference analysis, FoV analysis and simulation analysis method to Multi-purpose helicopter for the find DIRCM location. As a result, in case of 1 DIRCM mounted at helicopters bottom shows 30~40% survivability. case of 2 DIRCM mounted at both side shows 70~80% survivability.

  • Sign-in point of interest (POI) are extremely sparse in location-based social networks, hindering recommendation systems from capturing users' deep-level preferences. To solve this problem, we propose a content-aware POI recommendation algorithm based on a convolutional neural network. First, using convolutional neural networks to process comment text information, we model location POI and user latent factors. Subsequently, the objective function is constructed by fusing users' geographical information and obtaining the emotional category information. In addition, the objective function comprises matrix decomposition and maximisation of the probability objective function. Finally, we solve the objective function efficiently. The prediction rate and F1 value on the Instagram-NewYork dataset are 78.32% and 76.37%, respectively, and those on the Instagram-Chicago dataset are 85.16% and 83.29%, respectively. Comparative experiments show that the proposed method can obtain a higher precision rate than several other newer recommended methods.

  • Recently, with the development of technology, computer vision research based on the human visual system has been actively conducted. Saliency maps have been used to highlight areas that are visually interesting within the image, but they can suffer from low performance due to external factors, such as an indistinct background or light source. In this study, existing color, brightness, and contrast feature maps are subjected to multiple shape and orientation filters and then connected to a fully connected layer to determine pixel intensities within the image based on location-based weights. The proposed method demonstrates better performance in separating the background from the area of interest in terms of color and brightness in the presence of external elements and noise. Location-based weight normalization is also effective in removing pixels with high intensity that are outside of the image or in non-interest regions. Our proposed method also demonstrates that multi-filter normalization can be processed faster using parallel processing.

  • In this paper, we present a method to evaluate source locations and distributed region which is specified brain activity, as indicated by locations and strengths of intracranial sources, using potential gradients of interpolation polynomials and topographic mapping of the EEG records. This method can analyze the variance of source temporally or spatially and leads to enable a quantitative evaluation of potential gradients drawing methods which is now being used in the clinic. In the result, we obtained the overall potentials distribution on the entire scalp and the information of potential source locations from the EEG records of a patient which was known to epilepsy.

  • The ground source heat pump (GSHP) system is a kind of the temperature differential energy system using relatively stable underground temperature as heat source of space heating and cooling. This system can achieve higher performance of system than it of conventional air source heat pump systems. However, its superiority of the system performance is different according to installation location or local climate, because the system performance depends on the underground condition which is decided by annual average air temperature. In this study, in order to estimate the feasibility of the ground source heat pump system according to the local climate, numerical simulation was conducted using the ground heat transfer model and the surface heat balance model. The case study was conducted in the condition of Seoul, Daejeon, and Busan, In the result, the heat exchange rate of Busan was 34.33 W/m as the largest in heating season and it of Seoul was 40.61 W/m as the largest in cooling.

  • The problem of the transient interaction of a plane acoustic shock wave which has an infinitely steep wave front with a cylindrical or spherical elastic shell has been studied analytically from early fifties based on the integral transform and series solution techniques. Huang adopted an inverse Laplace transform, and used a finite number of terms of the infinite series expansion of the equations for the shells. In the 1990s, the results have been used by many authors for validation of computer codes. The object of this paper is to discuss the interaction between a moving source and submerged spherical shells. Since the center of source is moving the first contact location between the waves and shell changes depending on the source velocity and distance. These are considered in the analysis. Furthermore, constant source strength and decreasing strength are considered in the analysis. Radial velocities at several locations on the structure are obtained and the results are discussed.

  • Electric systems can be classified into two classes on the basis of the location of its energy source. One system is to be connected with its outside energy source. Obviously, these electric system is limited of its motion range and impossible to operate in the situation without a way to find an energy source nearby. another is to posses the energy source within it. These electric systems are free of motion range limit while their using is limited by the life of source. These limits can be tided over by using passive-type RF communication. RF-ID is a system that Is possible to interchange electricity and data by Radio Frequency to locate and identify various objects including a man.
