The square timbers of larch having cross section of $90mm{\times}90mm$ were glued laterally to be formed $1,200mm{\times}2,400mm$ panels which were used as cores for CLT wall panels. Then, structural plywood panels having size of $1,200mm{\times}2,400mm$ were used as cross band covering the small square timber cores to manufacture CLT wall panels. The sound absorption rate of CLT wall panels and polyester board attached CLT wall panels were investigated. The mean sound absorption coefficients of the former and the latter in the frequency range of 100-6400 Hz were 0.21 and 0.74, respectively. The noise reduction coefficients (NRC) of those were 0.21 and 0.40, respectively. Also, the mean sound transmission loss of CLT wood panel in the frequency range of 50-1600 Hz was 45.12 dB and that value at the frequency of 500 Hz was 42.49 dB. It was suggested that the polyester board attached CLT wall panels could be used as housing wall because of its high sound absorption rate and high sound transmission loss.

The present study determined the overall noise level and the distribution of sound pressure level over audible frequency range of noise produced at various work sites. Work-related noise greater than 80dBA produced from 98 separate work sites at 37 manufacturing companies and machine shops were analysed for the overall sound level (dBA) and frequency distribution. In addition, to determine the possible hearing loss related to work site noise, a hearing test was also conducted on 1,374 workers in these work sites. The results of the study were as follows ; 1. Of the total 98 work sites, 57 work sites(58.2%) produced noise exceeding threshold limit value (${\geq}90dBA$) set by the Ministry 01 Labor. In terms of different manufacturing industries the proportion of work sites which exceeded 90dBA was the highest for the cut-stone products industry with 6/6 work sites and lowest for the commercial printing industry with 1/13 work sites. 2. The percentage of workers who were exposed to noise greater than 90dBA was 19.8% (1,040 workers) 01 the total 5,261 workers. In terms of different industries, cut-stone products industry had the most workers exposed to noise exceeding 90dBA with 82.8%, textile bleaching and dyeing industry was next at 30.6% followed by fabricated metal products industry with 27.9%, plastic products manufacturing industry had the lowest percentage of workers exposed to 90dBA exceeding noise with 4.5%. 3. There was a statistically significant correlation between the frequency of noise-induced hearing loss and the percentage of workers exposed to noise exceeding 90dBA (P<0.05). 4. The frequency analysis of noise produced at the 98 work sites revealed that 44 work sites (44.9%) had the maximum sound pressure level at high-frequencies greater than 2KHz. In addition, significantly higher sound pressure level was detected at the high-frequencies at 90dBA exceeding work sites as compared to below 90dBA work sites (P<0.01). 5. The differences in sound level meter's A-and C-weighted sound pressure levels were analysed by frequencies. Of the 28 work sites which showed 0-1 dB difference in the two weighted sound levels, 20 work sites (71.4%) had significantly higher sound pressure levels at high-frequencies greater than 2KHz (P<0.01). Furthermore, there was a tendency for higher sound pressure levels to occur in the high-frequency range as the differences in the two weighted sound levels decreased.

With the booming complementary medicine as a social trend of well-being, treatment by the sound waves of six kinds of syllables is believed to restore that healthy balance to the body. Sound therapy refers to a range of therapies in which sound is used to treat physical and mental conditions. Healing is done by transmitting beneficial sound to the affected area related to five viscera and six bowels. The healing sound may be produced by a voice. sound wave vibrations are to treat physical and mental conditions. In general, this therapy is based on the theory that all of life vibrates, including people's bodies. When a person's healthy resonant frequency is out of balance, physical and emotional health is affected. When a person's healthy resonant frequency is out of balance, physical and emotional health is affected. This paper focuses on the sound therapy by six syllables of 'hyu', 'huo', 'ho', 'sa', 'chi' and 'hui'.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of TMJ sounds by computerized sound power-spectrum analyser(SONOPAK, Bioresearch Inc., U.S.A.). TMJ sounds were recorded and anaylsed in the 87 patients wit TMJ noises by SONOPAK. The followings are the criteria of TMJ sound analysis. 1. It is possible to record the location of the TMJ sound in relation to the opening/closing cycle of mouth. 2. It is possible to record amplitude of sound(loudness) and frequency of sound (Hz) 3. Clicks display a narrow band of sound within the 0-300 Hz range. The peak frequency generally occurs between 50-150 Hz. And crepitus appear as a wide band of sound, occuring from 0-1300Hz. The data obtained from quantitative TMJ sound analysis give lots of information, but further researches are needed.

The wear process of end mill is a so complicated process that a more reliable technique is required for the monitoring and controling the tool life and its performance. This research presents a new tool wear monitoring method based on the sound signal generated on the machining. The experiment carried out continuous-side-milling for using the high-speed steel end mill under wet condition. The sound pressure was measured at 0.5m from the cutting zone by a dynamic microphone, and was analyzed at frequency domain. The tooth passing frequency appears as a harmonics form, and end mill wear is related with the first harmonic. It can be concluded from the result that the tool wear is correlate with the intensity of the measured sound at tooth passing frequency estimation of end mill wear using sound is possible through frequency analysis at tooth passing frequency under the given circumstances.
Proceeding an objective Study of sasang constitution diagnosis by Sound Analysis which uses Computed Sound lab(CSL), we verified the confidence level of Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution classification II(QSCC II) and the first results of Sound Analysis for verifying correlation between the physical character and Sound character are as follows. 1. The confidence level of QSCC II is 70.8% to Soeumin, 60.8% to Soyangin, 74.5% to Taeumin, and 70.08% in total. But, the actual results of verifying the confidence level after making 100 persons an object of study, are that the confidence level of that is 55.10% to Soeumin, 30.77% to Soyangin, 80.00% to Taeumin, and 55.29% in total. So it doesn't coincide with the confidence lecel of QSCC II 70.8%. 2. The results of verifying the confidence level about other 134 persons after enough explanation before the constitutional diagnosis by QSCC II are that the confidence of that is 71.08 to Soeumin, 54.76% to Soyangin 81.82% to Taeumin, and 69.22% in total. 3. The results of verifying the correlation between B.M.I. and Sasang Costitution are that there are significant differences below P<0.001 between Taeumin and Soeumin, and between Taeumin and Soyangin. 4. Height and Weight influence on a fundamental frequency and formant frequency. 5. There are differences for every constitutions in a amplitude when we nave a Sound analysis. As aboves, it is considered that we can find the differences among the constitutional groups, if we have a Sound analysis of the constitutional Sound characters.
Noise pollution, both in the environment and in the workplace, has been recognized as a major health hazard -one that can impair not only a person's hearing but also his physical and mental well-being. As industrialization progresses, the prevalence rate of occupational diseases is increasing, especially hearing loss, which has the highest prevalence rate among the occupational diseases. The major cause of noise is the construction of various large industries without any regulation of noise sources. Therefor, we must establish an enactment to control mechanical noise sources. as soon as possible. For the purpose of controlling the noise source, we must have exact data about such things as the sound level, the frequency of the peak sound and the revolutions per minute (r.p.m.) of the machine (a measure of the power of its motor). This study was undertaken in order to define the noise characteristics, the power of the machine's motor, the change of the sound level and the peak sound as the r.p.m. increases, and the permissible exposure time. The sample size of this study was 74 machines at 11 plants in 6 industries. The results are as follows; 1. The breakdown of the types of mechanical noise noted was : 63.6% continuous normal sound, 26.9% intermittent sound, 4.7% continuous repeating sound and 4.6% impulsive sound. 2. With respect to the type of industry, the overall sound level was the highest in the mechanical industry, with $103.8{\pm}2.8dB(A)$, and lowest in the textile industry, with $89.2{\pm}1.43dB(A)$. 3. With respect to the type of machine, the highest sound level was 124 dB(A) caused by Gauzing(II), in the mechanical industry, and the lowest was 76 dB(A) caused by Attachment (Jup Chack) (I) in the timber industry. 4. The shortest permissible exposure time to Gauzing(II) in the mechanical industry was less than 15 minutes. 5. Among 74 machines, 68.2% of the peak sound was situated in the high frequency range (52.7% at 2 KHz, 4.1% at 4 KHz and 1.4% at 8 KHz). 41.8% of the peak sound was in the middle frequency range (4.1% at 250Hz, 14.8% at 500Hz and 22.9% at 1KHz). 6. If one machine had two motors or more, the peak sound was shifted to the low frequency range. 7. As the r.p.m. increased, the overall and peak sound levels were increased without any change of the frequency of the peak sound. 8. Whenever the machines had the same kind and the same r.p.m., the overall and peak sounds were changed by the physicochemical characteristics of the raw materials and the management.
PURPOSES: The purpose of study is to understand the characteristic of driving noise from the front and rear tire for effective active noise cancellation application. METHODS : As literature review, noise measurement methods were reviewed. Noise measurement conducted at three kind of section by road slope using CPX(Close Proximity Method). Noise data was compared by total sound pressure level and 1/3 octave band frequency sound pressure level. Also, each section was compared by T-test using SPSS. RESULTS : In the case of the uphill section, it was shown that the sound pressure level of the front tire at Sugwang-Ri and Sinchon-RI sections was higher than that of the rear tire in low and high frequency band. In the case of high slope section of Sangsaek-Ri, the sound pressure level of the front tire was higher than that of the rear tire in high frequency. Also, in the case of the downhill section, it was shown that the sound pressure level of the front tire at Sugwang-Ri and Sinchon-RI sections was higher than that of the rear tire in low frequency band. However, the sound pressure levels of both the front and rear tires were approximately the same in the high slope section of Sangsaek-Ri. The result of T-test showed that total sound pressures of the front and rear tires were not different from each other in the case of high slope and high speed. CONCLUSIONS: Road slope was not an important variable for effective active noise cancellation.
Sound absorbing materials used for lightweight panels and interior material are mainly made of fibroid material such as glass wool or rock wool. However these fiber type sound absorbing materials have some problems such that sound absorption could be decreased as time goes by because of durability. In addition, dust scattering from fiber type material can cause another problem in health. In this point of view, this study aims to develop environment friendly sound absorbing material using Hwangto(so called loess or yellow soil), a traditional housing material. Hwangto is natural housing material in Korea and generally known for improving indoor air quality. Hwangto panel is made to construct on the floor, wall and ceiling, and expected that there is not enough absorption. Present study tried to develop environment friendly sound absorbing material that has high sound absorption performance with good environment performance in terms of air quality. Pore rate was designed to maximize the absorption in the specific frequency bands, and two kinds of backing space were applied in order to see the effect of backing space. As a result peak frequency that has maximum absorption is going high as the pore rate is increased. The backing space provides more absorption and makes the peak frequency down to low.

The aim of this study was to experimentally investigate the sound quality characteristics, such as sound deflection, sound pressure level and frequency characteristics of a magnetic type speaker in an anechoic chamber to overcome the sound quality and voice-coil temperature problems. To accomplish this, the sound quality performance of the magnetic type speaker was tested according to the magnetic fluid amount and magnetic field intensity. The sound deflection, sound pressure level, and frequency characteristics were measured using the Smarrt program. As a result, at a magnetic fluid amount of 2.4 ml, the sound deflection and the sound pressure level of the magnetic type speaker were enhanced by comparing with those of the general type speaker. The frequency characteristics and the sound pressure level of the magnetic type speaker were enhanced greatly with increasing magnetic field intensity from 8.06 mT to 9.10 mT. In addition, the sound deflection of the magnetic type speaker was 0.01% lower than that of the general type speaker.
