Risk Assessment and Airworthiness Study for the Development of IFS A/C (공중모의비행시험기 개조개발 위험도 분석 및 감항인증 연구)

  • Airworthiness certification is a government certification for the military aircraft to safely attain, sustain and terminate flight and It is a mandatory process of qualifying the flight safety within the operational boundaries of a military aircraft. To save the manhour, time and cost for applying all the airworthiness certification criteria to the aircraft equipped with flight control switching mechanism development program, an identification of the risk and systematic assessment of risk is analysed. Airworthiness redesign actions so called software switching mechanism for the modified aircraft in the flight technology and electric system area are suggested to reduce the risk hazard index.

  • This paper suggests a weibull time delay model to evaluate failure risks in FMEA(failure modes and effects analysis). Assuming three types of loss functions for delayed time in failure cause detection, the risk of each failure cause is evaluated as its occurring frequency and expected loss. Since the closed form solution of the risk metric cannot be obtained, a statistical computer software R program is used for numerical calculation. When the occurrence and detection times have a common shape parameter, though, some simple results of mathematical derivation are also available. As an enormous quantity of field data becomes available under recent progress of data acquisition system, the proposed risk metric will provide a more practical and reasonable tool for evaluating the risks of failure causes in FMEA.

  • It is more effective and more efficient to manage schedule and risk at a same time because many risks occur in construction phase in building construction projects. The objective of this paper is to propose a tool that manages risks in a project management software. The tool is implemented by VBA in Microsoft Project, and enables field managers of a construction project to make schedules and to help to predict risks.

  • This paper implemented the tools to measure the risk of the modules for the web application project written in ASP, using the Indicator of the Module Risk Levels. The Indicator of that is developed by GSFC group in NASA based on structural programming language and gives us software product quality metrics. The implemented tools examined with the ASP projects of the practical business. As the results the data shows the module risk levels easily, and then the data affects the maintenance to improve the application quality.

Impact of Supply Chain Innovation and Risk Management Capabilities on Competitive Advantage at Steel Trading Companies in Vietnam

  • Purpose: The current research investigates the beneficial impacts of supply chain innovation and risk management on the competitive advantage of organizations, based on the resource-based theory (RBT) framework. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: 14 survey items were included in the study's questionnaire, utilizing a random sampling technique to gather data from 239 leaders and managers employed by various steel trading firms in Vietnam. In order to validate the data and examine relationships, the collected data is analyzed using structural equation modeling, confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability analysis via SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 software. A fictitious system has been suggested. Results: According to the findings, the most positive influence on competitive advantage is supply chain innovation, followed by risk management capability, having the second greatest positive influence. Conclusions: Some conclusions are drawn based on the research's findings in order to assist managers in realizing the significance and necessity of giving attention to supply chain innovation and improving risk management capabilities, both of which are essential components for achieving the competitive advantage of an organization.

  • These days, interior construction is performed to prevent the deterioration of old building finishings or to make distinctive designs. In case of interior construction, a construction cost is estimated through basic 2D drawings in the design step. Accordingly, an efficient construction plan and direction is established according to budget. In such a case, construction is dependent on 2D drawings. At that time, a risk can occur easily. This study is aimed at reducing the cost and risk of interior construction by implementing 3D drawings with the use of the visual data of 2D drawings. For accurate analysis, 2D drawings were completed, and then 3D interior construction modeling for various buildings was conducted with the 3D modeling software 3D Max. According to the 3D modeling, it reduced the cost and risk more than 2D drawings based design, and influenced the improvement in the understanding of orderers and workers.

  • Recently, risk management is a very important issue in many industrial applications. This paper describes a general structure for risk management and suggests a new risk assessment methodology. In risk management applications of financial or insurance industries, there are many methodologies developed for practical use. However, areas for improvement exist to facilitate the application of the methods. Two major risk assessment methodologies have been developed and widely applied in system engineering. One is in its original development application from aerospace and defense industry, and the other was developed in applied software engineering. In a large and complicated system development application, an effective risk management can reduce total development cost as well as uncertainty in achieving project goals of schedule and performance.

  • Recently because of high-speed operation of trains, railway crossings become more and more hazardous components among the whole ones of railway system. It is desirable to remove all the railway crossings for reducing fatalities at railway crossings. it is impossible to eliminate all the crossings for unrealistic investment, so it should be considered to construct multi-level crossings by the order of priority. In this paper operation conditions, various hazard factors on the train accident at domestic railway crossings and foreign cases of risk-based safety assessment models are reviewed and then necessary record data that be added and modified, some essential considerations for developing railway crossing safety assessment software program are proposed.

P-Triple Barrier Labeling: Unifying Pair Trading Strategies and Triple Barrier Labeling Through Genetic Algorithm Optimization

  • In the ever-changing landscape of finance, the fusion of artificial intelligence (AI)and pair trading strategies has captured the interest of investors and institutions alike. In the context of supervised machine learning, crafting precise and accurate labels is crucial, as it remains a top priority to empower AI models to surpass traditional pair trading methods. However, prevailing labeling techniques in the financial sector predominantly concentrate on individual assets, posing a challenge in aligning with pair trading strategies. To address this issue, we propose an inventive approach that melds the Triple Barrier Labeling technique with pair trading, optimizing the resultant labels through genetic algorithms. Rigorous backtesting on cryptocurrency datasets illustrates that our proposed labeling method excels over traditional pair trading methods and corresponding buy-and-hold strategies in both profitability and risk control. This pioneering method offers a novel perspective on trading strategies and risk management within the financial domain, laying a robust groundwork for further enhancing the precision and reliability of pair trading strategies utilizing AI models.

Failure Analysis of Aircraft Software Test Cases from a Perspective of Requirements Traceability (요구사항 추적성 관점에서 항공기 탑재 소프트웨어 시험 사례 실패 분석)

  • As the proportion and complexity of software embedded in aircraft increase, risk factors such as mission failure, function failure and performance failure due to software errors also increase. In the mission-critical software systems such as aircraft software, managing requirement traceability is essential to maintain the software systems with minimal period and cost. However, the development company is not accurately complying with the guideline for managing requirement traceability due to various reasons such as development cost and schedule. Therefore, it is not easy to systematically establish and maintain requirement traceability. In the paper, we analyze actual test cases of aviation software systems from the viewpoint of requirements traceability in order to learn if there are failure cases of test cases due to the absence of systematic traceability management activities. We also check the risks associated with the failure cases according to the type and severity of the cases. As a result of analyzing a total of 7 aircraft-mounted software, failure cases could be divided into three types: omission of requirements, lack of connection between requirements and test procedures, and omission of test procedures. There were a total of 18 failure cases, 6 for each type. The numbers of high, middle and low risks were 1, 13 and 4, respectively, where the number of middle risks is largest.
