Current Status and Problems of the ICT In-service Training for Teacher Based on the Operating Guide and Skill Standard of ICT (정보통신기술교육 운영지침과 활용능력기준에 기초한 교원정보화 연수 현황 및 문제점 분석)

  • The curriculum for teacher ICT in-service training has several problems in terms of running and managing training content. The majority part of the program consist of teaming software application manual. Additionally, the program is not organized and some contents overlap. Furthermore teachers are not obliged to participate in training. Especially, it needs to be revised because it is many difference between revised ICT curriculum and 'ICT skill standard for teacher(ISST)'. This study investigates the current curriculum for teacher ICT in-service training, analyzes problems in running and managing training content, and suggests need for revising the curriculum for teacher ICT in-service training.

  • Information Technology (IT) managers play an important role as a bridge between technology and business, and it is therefore important to determine what skills are required for this position. Although many previous studies have investigated the skills necessary for IT managers to perform their roles, most of these studies are based on the data collected from companies in the US. However, given the increased labor mobility in the IT industry, it is important to determine whether IT manager positions elsewhere require the same skills as the positions in the US. This study is a first step in this direction and attempts to determine whether there are any differences in skill requirements between Korean IT managers and American IT managers, and, if so, what they are.

  • This study aims to invest in empirical relationships in a model that becomes the process of Team-Performance due to participation in practical training through causality between Training Effectiveness variables, soft-skill competence, Employee-Creativity, and team performance. This study uses a quantitative approach. The analytical tool used is structural equation modeling (SEM) using AMOS version 23 software. Accidental sampling technique is used to collect the sample. As many as 202 respondents filled up a survey questionnaire with complete and valid answers. This study's results significantly contribute to fill the gap of inadequate empirical evidence that can answer critical questions about the missing link between training and employee-performance, more specifically between training-effectiveness and team-performance. The results showed that practical training would encourage employees' soft-skill competence, improve Employee-Creativity, and improve Team-Performance. Furthermore, training-effectiveness also plays a significant role in enhancing employee-creativity and helping in optimal team-performance. This study also found that the relationship between employee-creativity and team-performance did not show positive and significant results; therefore, empirically, it did not support the hypothesis built in this study. Practical training targeted towards increasing soft-skills and creativity is a fundamental reason which not only aims to contribute toward organizational performance but also provides personal feedback for self-development.

  • Presented in the paper is an approach to developing an intelligent mold shop as a means to overcome the difficulties faced by mold-makers due to skill shortages and increased global competition. A machine shop where as much as of the human skills are replaced by a set of intelligent systems is called an intelligent machine shop, and an intelligent mold-making machine shop is called an intelligent mold shop(MS). By analyzing the contents of operator's skill. three intelligent S/W stations have been designed: Technical Data Processing(TDP) Station, Loading Schedule Station, and Real-time Monitoring Station. A detailed architecture of the TDP station is described, and measures of effectiveness of IMS are elaborated.

  • This paper is to describe the development of nesting software for the materials cutting plan of footwear manufacturing processes. In shoes cutting process, almost of the materials cutting plan is dependent upon worker's experience. Thus, the pattern nesting by worker's experience for materials cutting is different from the real cutting results and also different from the error size of yield in degree of worker's skill. Recently, a few of domestic shoes' makers make use of oversee's nesting software. But the nesting software unfits for the domestic actual circumstances, and is complex to use, and is expensive, and is not to be interfaced with the auto cutting machine. Therefore, we have developed the economic nesting systems that are easier for novice to use and fit for the domestic circumstances, which can syncronize with the development of the auto cutting machine. The system comprises interrelated modules for materials information, nesting simulation, utility. The architecture of system, the functions of each module, and the information processing procedures of each function are discussed.

  • Abstract-In paper, an operation support software for combustion control of refuse incineration plant is developed using fuzzy model and genetic algorithm. It has two major modules which are simulation module and optimal operation module. In simulation module modelling is performed to obtain fuzzy model of the refuse incineration plant and obtained fuzzy model predicts outputs of the plant when inputs are given. This module can be used to obtain control strategy, and train and enhance operators' skill by simulating the plant. And in optimal operation module, genetic algorithm searches and finds out optimal control inputs over all possible solutions in respect to desired outputs. In order to testify proposed operation support software, computer simulation was carried out.

  • In this paper, to solve the imbalance between the skill factors demanded by the industry and the curriculum of the universities, demand-oriented educational contents are developed in the computer-software field. In the field, five tracks are selected: Software Development, System Integration, Embedded System Software, Multimedia and Game Software, and Business Information Technology. In each track, a curriculum with four demand-oriented courses is developed to reflect the demands of the IT industry. Detailed syllabuses and course materials are developed as well. Applying these artifacts, lectures have been performed at universities since 2004.

A Meta-Analysis on the Effects of Social Skill Training for Schizophrenic Patients (정신분열병을 가진 사람들을 위한 사회기술훈련의 효과에 관한 메타분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of interventions for improving the social skills for people with schizophrenia by using method of meta-analysis. For the purpose of the study, master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and journal articles published in korea up to July, 2013 were systematically reviewed. As a result, a total of 22 studies were eligible for the inclusion criteria. The mean effect sizes and test for homogeneity of effect size(Q-statistic) were analyzed by using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software 2.0. The main findings of the study were as follows. First, the average effect sizes for total social skill training programs were ES=0.838 of interpersonal capacity, ES=0.782 of social behavioral skills, ES=0.601 of self-assertiveness skills, and ES=0.293 of symptoms. Second, by analysing the moderate variables of the effect size for social skill training programs, 'a place of training', 'a major of trainer', 'running times' and 'sessions' were statistically significant. Based on the study results, the research and practice implications were discussed.
