Development and Effectiveness Analysis of Training Program for Core Teachers of Elementary SW Education (초등 SW교육 핵심교원 양성을 위한 연수 프로그램의 개발 및 효과성 분석)

  • In this study, researchers developed the core teacher training program for elementary SW education. In order to develop the training program, the direction of training development was set, and the final version of the training was prepared through the pilot training. The main focus of the training program was to cultivate the teachers' ability to understand and apply SW education based on the national curriculum. After the program development, its effectiveness was analysed by applying it to the actual national training course. This training program was applied to the 2019 winter and summer teacher training courses organized by the Ministry of Education. To analyze the effectiveness of the training program, SW education teaching efficacy and satisfaction were surveyed. The results analysis found out the developed training program has positive effects on trained teachers.

An Analysis on the Elementary School teacher's Literacy about Software Education Contents, In preparation for the 2015 Revised National Curriculum

  • In this paper, we propose the elementary school teacher's training direction for effective SW education. In an effort to better understand the efficient SW training contents and methods for teachers, 200 of elementary teachers had been selected from different places in South Korea. The results showed that 1)it should be operated by focusing on the training of female teachers, especially, strengthening the contents of SW ethics. 2)It will need to actively operate the teacher training program to foster the necessary computational thinking and programing for elementary school teacher who work in big cities. 3)It need to create a training program for expanding the SW studying groups. 4)In order to improve the effectiveness of training courses in the development of in-service training programs, the SW ethics contents need to be coordinated with the link the computational thinking and programing. These results are expected to provide the efficient methods to design the future SW training programs.

Analysis Teacher Efficacy and Satisfaction of SW Interactive Training Program for Elementary School Teachers (초등 교원 SW 쌍방향 연수 프로그램의 교수 효능감 및 만족도 분석)

  • In this study, a SW interactive education training program for elementary school teachers was developed in order to cultivate the SW competency of teachers who apply SW education to schools, and the effect was analyzed by applying it to the school training site. For the development of the training program, the training development direction was set based on the current SW teacher training program, and an interactive training program was opened so that training could be conducted in a non-face-to-face situation in the COVID-19 situation. The developed training program was applied to 104 elementary school teachers in Gyeonggi-do. In order to analyze the effectiveness of the interactive training program, a survey on professor efficacy and satisfaction was conducted, and positive results were confirmed in terms of professor efficacy and program satisfaction. As it is expected that various SW/AI education training for teachers will be conducted as interactive training in the future, it is judged that it is necessary to conduct an analysis study on the effect of SW/AI training training.

Development of Curriculum on Probability and Statistics for Training of Mathematics Teacher of Secondary Schools (중등 교사 양성을 위한 확률과 통계 영역의 교육과정 개발)

  • Because statistical concepts are important parts in school mathematics, mathematics teachers have trained by special education model. In this study, a desirable direction of curriculum on probability and statistics at pre-service for mathematics teacher is considered. We proposed four subjects as Exploration and Analysis of Data for Mathematics Teacher, Probability and Statistics I, II for Mathematics Teacher and Statistical Software for Mathematics, and suggested the constituents and something being kept in mind for each subject.

Comparative Analysis of International Teacher Education Systems (해외의 교원양성 체제 비교 분석)

  • The objective of this research is to compare the teacher education system in countries that have reformed, or are in the process of reforming, their informatics education by reflecting ongoing social changes and developments in IT. The teacher education systems in Finland, Germany, Japan, the UK and US were compared. As a result of the study it was found that (1) the results did not differ according to the teacher education institution, (2) there was a focus on a minor subject, and (3) there were various routes for teacher training. The systems for special graduate schools were found to be developed, probation period after graduation was more than one year, and license renewal systems were being enforced. Based on these results, it was proposed that (1) more teachers be recruited to attend graduate schools and (2) that software training be given to all teachers as a minor. Finally, a license renewal system for revaluating teachers' qualifications was also proposed. This research is meaningful in that it compared the teacher training system in Korea with five major developed countries.

  • In this study, we analyzed the current status and limitations of software education in A education universities. In order to solve these problems, technical support assistant teachers were employed and operated. During the course of the course, we conducted interviews with the instructor and the technical support teacher. The satisfaction of the teacher in the training school was high and I wanted to be supported continuously. It also called for the capacity building of assistant teachers and the establishment of a pool of staff. On the other hand, the assistant teachers suggested that the role assignment of team teaching should be clarified and a guide of activities should be presented. The technical assistance assistant teacher input system discussed in this study may be different from the practice system of each university, and generalization may be limited. Therefore, it is expected that the effective implementation method will be shared and the software education will be activated.

The Analysis of Difference in Software Education Teaching Efficacy according to Variables of In-service Elementary School Teachers (현직 초등 교사의 변인에 따른 소프트웨어 교육 교수효능감(SE-TE) 차이 분석)

  • In this study, we analyzed the differences of SW education teaching efficacy(SE-TE) according to variables such as gender, region, training experience, and attitude toward SW education. As a result, there was no difference according to the region, but there was statistically significant difference in the other variables. The correlation analysis and the regression analysis showed that the training experience and the attitude toward the SW education had the most correlation and explanatory power to the SE-TE. These results suggest that the training should be designed in order to enhance the teachers' SE-TE, to increase the opportunities of training, to provide continuous training, to operate the training hours efficiently, and to improve the teachers' personal SW education teaching efficacy.

A Study on Training Courses Development and Analysis for Improving the Creativity using Arduino (창의성 향상을 위한 아두이노 활용 교육과정 개발과 분석)

  • We have performed a short-term computer information and communication technology education using Arduino. The purpose of this education was to progress basic training interestingly and discover excellent students. Training was about practicing basic examples about H/W, S/W, communication, and solving creative tasks. We divided training participants into a team composed of each 3 members and educated them for 10 hours. Instructors were consists of 1 main teacher and 3 teacher assistants. Training was about assembling Arduino based robot, blinking LED, operating speaker, serial communication, producing software for wireless communications and autonomous of robot, and control hardware of robot. Through this study, we developed a meaningful ICT integrated curriculum which has high usefulness in a short period. Students participated in this education completed 96% out of 10 creative tasks, and this study analyzes the result of curriculum and suggests further research directions.

Teachers' Perceptions of Software Education in Elementary School Practical Arts Curriculum and Improvement Plan (초등학교 실과 교육과정 소프트웨어 교육에 대한 교사의 인식과 개선방안)

  • As the era of the 4th industrial revolution began and the importance of software emerged, education also reflected this. Software education has already been provided in several countries, and Korea also started software education in the regular curriculum in 2019, when the 2015 revised curriculum was applied. This study attempted to present an improvement plan for revitalizing software education based on the feelings and difficulties of teachers who conducted software education for the first time in the practical education curriculum in elementary school. For the study, a survey was conducted on 96 teachers in charge of software education in elementary schools in 2019 with 36 questions related to personal competency, class operation method, textbooks and educational materials, class operation content, and educational environment. And three of them were interviewed. As a result improvements are needed, such as improving educational facilities and environment, revitalizing the development and dissemination of high-quality instructional materials, and expanding support for participatory training for teachers and teacher clubs.

Teacher Training Program and Analysis of Teacher's Demands to Strengthen Artificial Intelligence Education (인공지능교육 역량 강화를 위한 교원 연수 프로그램과 교사 요구분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to apply the training program for teachers to strengthen the competence of artificial intelligence education in primary and secondary school teachers and to analyze its effectiveness and analyze teachers' demands for artificial intelligence education to provide basic research data. The referenced training program was designed based on the ADDIE model by selecting the educational contents based on the five core elements of AI, and teachers from the G Metropolitan Office of Education and the AI Education Research Association collaborated to develop the program. The effectiveness of the developed program and questionnaire of teacher needs analysis for AI teaching were examined for content validity. As a result of the training conducted by applying the developed program, satisfaction with each curriculum of the training and the possibility of application to the field were highly evaluated. It was found that teachers consider the need of teaching unplugged activities for AI education and basic AI experiences in elementary school level, and AI education contents including block programming languages and physical computing activities are needed to teach in middle school level.
