  • Existing switching system that is one of the ways which are used for DC/DC power converter is classified to hard-switching system and resonant-soft-switching system, generally. Hard-switching system is inefficient because the power loss of the switching element is large when it is been to trun on or turn off. And resonant-soft-switching system have the defect that need to add the another reactor and capacitor that make it expensive and huge. This paper suggest the ZVS Full-Bridge power converter contrcution of novel switching system for the overcoming these shortcomings. In Suggested soft-switching system, the front of buck converter at diode current, switch is changing on and off at the part of full-bridge converter's zero voltage part. as the result that is possible to be ZVS excepting the reactor and capacitor. also to verify the reasonability of the isolated ZVS full-bridge DC/DC converter as previously suggested, we produced the 500[W] level DC/DC converter and enforced the simulation for Psim, and then it able to conform the superiority of the DC/DC converter's efficient.

  • This paper presents the synchronous soft switching boost converter. It is shown that the proposed converter effectively reduces conduction loss by using MOSFET device in place of diode in the conventional boost converter. Also, this soft switching boost converter can reduce switching loss using ZVS method through resonant inductor and capacitor. The proposed synchronous soft switching boost converter is suitable for PV generation system.

  • A new soft switching single stage AC-DC full bridge boost converter with unit input power factor and isolated output i is presented in this paper. Due to the use of a non-dissipative snubber on the primary side, a single stage high-power f factor isolated full bridge boost converter has a significant reduction of switching losses in the main switching devices. The non-dissipative snubber adopted in this study consists of a snubber capacitor Cr, a snubber inductor Cr, a fast r recovery snubber diode Dr' and a commutation diode Dp. This paper presents the complete operating principles, t theoretical analysis and experimental results.

  • This paper presents boost and buck and buck-boost DC-DC converter circuit topologies of high-frequency soft switching transition PWM chopper type DC-DC high power converters with a single auxiliary passive resonant snubber. In the proposed boost power converter circuits operating under a principle of ZCS turn-on and ZVS turn-off commutation schemes, the capacitor and inductor in the auxiliary passive resonant circuit works as the loss less resonant snubber. In addition to this, the switching voltage and current peak stresses as well as EMI and RFI noises can be basically reduced by this single passive resonant snubber. Moreover, it is proved that converter circuit topologies with a passive resonant snubber are capable of solving some problems of the conventional hard switching PWM processing based on high-ferquency pulse modulation operation principle. The simulation results of this converter are discussed as compared with the experimental ones. The effectiveness of this power converter with a single passive resonant snubber is verified by the 5kW experimental breadboad set up.

  • This research presented the new zero-current switching pulse width modulation SEPP(Single Ended Push-Pull)high frequency inverter for solving the problem of the zero-current SEPP high frequency inverter circuit which is using widely in the practical application of an induction heating apparatus, the soft switching operation and power control are impossible when the lowest power supply in the zero-current switching pulse width modulation SEPP high frequency inverter. The inverter circuit which is attempted by on-off operation of a switch has the reduction effect of the power loss due to a soft switching and a high frequency switching. And it confirmed that the power regulation is possible continuously from 0.25[kW] until 2.84[kW] in the case the duty rate(D) changes from 0.08 to 0.3 under zero-current switching operating by a dissymmetry pulse width modulating control and the power conversion efficiency comes true the efficiency of 95[%]. Due to the result above, the ZCS PWM SEPP high frequency inverter will be effective as sources of an induction heating apparatus.

  • In this paper, a novel type auxiliary active edge resonant snubber assisted zero current soft switching pulse modulation Single-Ended Push Pull (SEPP) series load resonant inverter using IGBT power modules is proposed for cost effective consumer high-frequency induction heating (IH) appliances. Its operating principle in steady state is described by using each switching mode's equivalent operating circuits. The new multi resonant high-frequency inverter with series load resonance and edge resonance can regulate its high frequency output power under a condition of a constant frequency zero current soft switching (ZCS) commutation principle on the basis of the asymmetrical pulse width modulation (PWM) control scheme. Brand-new consumer IH products using the proposed ZCS-PWM series load resonant SEPP high-frequency inverter using IGBTs is evaluated and discussed as compared with conventional high-frequency inverters on the basis of experimental results. In order to extend ZCS operation ranges under a low power setting PWM as well as to improve efficiency, the high frequency pulse density modulation (PDM) strategy is demonstrated for high frequency multi-resonant inverters. Its practical effectiveness is substantially proved from an application point of view.

  • This paper proposes a soft-switching bidirectional dc-dc converter (BDC) with an auxiliary circuit. The proposed BDC can achieve the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) using an auxiliary circuit in the buck and boost operations. The auxiliary circuit supplies optimal energy for the ZVS operation of the main switches. The auxiliary circuit consists of a resonant inductor, a back-to-back switch and two capacitors. A small-sized resonant inductor and an auxiliary switch with a low-rated voltage can be used in the auxiliary circuit. Zero-current switching (ZCS) turn-on and turn-off of the auxiliary switches are possible. The proposed soft-switching scheme has a look-up table for optimal switching of the auxiliary switches. The proposed strategy properly adjusts the turn-on time of the auxiliary switch according to the load current. The proposed BDC is verified by the results of PSIM simulations and experiments on a 3-kW ZVS BDC system.

  • The wavelet shrinkage is a technique that reduces the wavelet coefficients to minimize the MSE(Mean Square Error) between the signal and the noisy signal by making use of the threshold determined by the variance of the wavelet coefficients. In this paper, by using the monotonic transform and the power of wavelet subbands, new thresholds applicable to the high and the low frequency wavelet bands are proposed, and the thresholds are applied to the ST(soft-threshold) technique to denoise on image signals with additive Gaussian noise. And the results of PSNRs are compared with the results obtained by the VisuShrink technique and those of [15]. The results shows the validity of this technique.

  • Authors propose a PFC(power factor correction) Buck-Boost AC-DC converter by soft switching method. The proposed converter for a discontinuous conduction mode eliminates the complicated control requirement and reduces the size of components. The input current waveform in the converter is got to be a sinusoidal form of discontinuous pulse in proportion to magnitude of ac input voltage under the constant duty cycle switching. Therefore, the input power factor is nearly unity and the control algorithm is simple. To achieve high efficiency system, the proposed converter is constructed by using a partial resonant technique. The control switches using in the converter are operated with soft switching for a partial resonant. The control switches are operated without increasing their voltage and current stresses by the soft switching method. The result is that the switching loss is very low and the efficiency of converter is high.

  • A high-performance rectifier is introduced in this study. The proposed rectifier combines the conventional pulse width modulation, soft commutation, and instantaneously average line current control techniques to promote circuit performance. The voltage stresses of the main switches in the rectifier are lower than those in conventional rectifier topologies. Moreover, conduction losses of switches in the rectifier are certainly lower than those in conventional rectifier topologies because the power current flow path when the main switches are turned on includes two main power semiconductors and the power current flow path when the main switches are turned off includes one main power semiconductor. The rectifier also adopts a ZCS-PWM auxiliary circuit to derive the ZCS function for power semiconductors. Thus, the problem of switching losses and EMI can be improved. In the control strategy, the controller uses the average current control mode to achieve fixed-frequency current control with stability and low distortion. A prototype has been implemented in the laboratory to verify circuit theory.
