  • This study was conducted in order to investigate the variables that relate and affect the internalizing and externalizing problems of multicultural children. 159 multicultural children in the $3^{rd}{\sim}6^{th}$grade were selected from elementary schools in Gwangju and the Jeollanamdo area. The data was analyzed by using the frequency, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and hierarchical regression by SPSS 12.0 program. The results were as follows: first, the internalizing problems were different according to the socio-demographic variable: (gender, subjective economic level), multicultural characteristic variable: (mother's communication ability, likability of mother's nationality, etc.), parent-child relationship variable: (relationship with mother, relationship with father) and social support variable: (peer support, teacher support). Further, the externalizing problems were different according to the socio-demographic variable: (gender), multicultural characteristic variable: (mother's nationality, mother's communication ability, etc.), parent-child relationship variable: (relationship with mother, relationship with father) and social support variable: (peer support, teacher support). Second, the influential variables regarding the internalizing problems were children's stress from cultural adaptability and the likability of the mother's nationality of the multicultural characteristic variable group, peer support of the social support variable group and the subjective economic-level of the socio-demographic variable group. Moreover, the influential variable on the externalizing problems was children's stress from the cultural adaptability of the multicultural characteristic variable group. The most influential variable of such variables was children's stress from cultural adaptability of the multicultural characteristic variable group. The results of this study will provide information for the development of educational and therapeutic intervention program for multicultural children.

  • This study is aimed at identifying the socio-economic effects of storage of ginger in artificial caves. The gingers stored in artificial caves in Seochun, 12 sampled areas, were surveyed to get information on the socio-economic effects. The surveyed data were processed by TSP, Qbasic and B/C Ratio computer programs and analyzed the decision making criteria such as B/C ratio, NPV and IRR. The socio-economic effects of the storages of the gingers are as follows. 1. The storage benefits per ton was showed as 184,050won. 2. Considering 10% of the opportunity cost of capital, the uper limits of investments for the cave storages was analyzed as 6,784 thousand won for ginger. 3. The investment of the natural cave storages was revealed economically feasible considering the decision making criteria as B/C ratio = 1.33, NPV = 35.059 thousand won and IRR = more than 100%. The other socio-economic effects of the ginger storages was expected as ; 1. The cave storages will contribute to increase consumer's and producer's welfare through the control of supply and demand and price stability. 2. Long-term storage of ginger without damaging quality and grades will be made on account of the storage conditions as relatively low temperature, high humidity and indifferent affects from the outside climate. 3. Utilization of the underground space, the caves, for storage will maximize the land use and the sustainable environment considering the mountainous area, two third of the total national land area. 4. Construction costs of the underground storage facilities as caves are cheaper than the ground storage facilities by 15 to 20% in general. In conclusion, the underground space like natural and artificial caves are considered the most suitable for storage of ginger on account of the storage conditions as temperature, humidity and blocking the sun light. Accordingly a study on convenient utilization of new development of artificial caves should be made considering transportation and input-output of the farms. Financial support of the government should be institutionally rearranged for the successful implementation of storing farm products like ginger in natural and man-made caves.

Tourism is also an industry that has attracted a large number of workers in the past two decades in Vietnam in general and territories in particular. Over the past two decades, tourism in the southern Red River sub-region has created thousands of jobs for local workers and neighboring provinces. The study aims to examine the factors affecting the employment decision of workers in the tourism industry in the South Red River sub-region. Using a pilot study surveying 10 workers in three provinces to adjust the questionnaire and a sample data of 193 observations were performed. The experimental results prove that the independent variables explain 64% of the variation of the dependent variable, and other reasons can explain the rest (36%). Research results show that four factors, namely, welfare (WE), working conditions (IN), the potential for tourism development (POT), and development policy (POL) have a positive impact on the employment decision of workers. Meanwhile, the two factors that are tourism cooperation (CO)and Education (EDU), have an insignificant impact on the employment decision of workers in the southern Red River sub-region.

First, comparison of men and women shows women spend more time on housework than men do. But sharing housework time with family for men increase on Sunday. Performer average is almost same in men and women. Secondly, the family sharing time on housework is longer on Sunday. It is due to increase of men's family sharing time. It means that men's time substitute for women's housework. Thirdly, the influencing factors on family sharing housework are gender, age, education, presence of spouses, monthly income, dual earner status, weekly working hours, gender role atittude and presence of preschoolers. The findings suggest that attachment is highest with one's mothers, followed by peer groups, fathers and teachers. This is in accordance with the overall tendencies of children to be attached to their parents, teachers, peer groups, according to their self-concept and school life adjustment. In addition, the tendency of attachment with parents, teachers, and peer groups according to gender is not meaningful except for peer-group affection between boys and girls. Furthermore, an integrated attachment type is ranked highest, followed by parents attachment type, peer attachment type, and unstable attachment type, in order based on cluster analysis. Finally, each attachment group among students showed meaningful differences in socio-demographic variables, self-concept, and school life adjustment.
