The Effect of Social Support of the New-middle Aged Job Seekers on Life Satisfaction - Mediating Effect of Re-employment Desire (신중년 구직자의 사회적 지지가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 - 재취업욕구의 매개효과)

  • This study analyzed the relationship between the social support and life satisfaction of the new-middle aged job seekers, and the mediating effect of re-employment desire. Firstly, the relationship between social support and life satisfaction were significant, therefore it confirmed social support should be expanded to improve new-middle aged life satisfaction. Secondly, the desire for social status, self-realization and leisure utilization were significantly influenced in the relationship between the desire for re-employment and life satisfaction. Thirdly, the re-employment desire had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between social support and life satisfaction. These results suggest that it is important to establish a social network for emotional support continuously after retirement, in addition to career planning for re-employment in the process of preparing for retirement, in order to increase the level of life satisfaction of the new-middle age.

Effects of Compassion Satisfaction and Social Support in the Relationship between Compassion Fatigue and Burnout in Hospital Nurses (간호사의 공감피로와 소진과의 관계에서 공감만족과 사회적 지지의 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of compassion satisfaction and social support in the relationship between compassion fatigue and burnout among hospital nurses. Methods: The participants were 430 nurses working in general hospitals. Data were collected with self-administrated questionnaires and analyzed by hierarchical multiple regression. Results: (a) Compassion fatigue had a significant positive effect on burnout; (b) social support and compassion satisfaction had negative effects on burnout, and (c) social support and compassion satisfaction did not moderate the effects of compassion fatigue on burnout. Conclusion: These findings provide strong empirical evidence for the importance of compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction and social support in explaining burnout of nurses. Also, it would be of great value to further define compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction even though these concepts are not accepted in the realities of health care.

The effects of socioeconomic position and social relationship on the depresson (사회경제적 지위와 사회적 관계가 우울에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: This study was to examine the independent and mediating effect of socioeconomic position and social relationship on depression. Methods: The study analyzed the data from the 2014 Korea Welfare Panel Study(n=9,172) using descriptive statistics, Kendall's rank correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis and the Sobel test. Results: Much of the connection between parental socioeconomic position and respondent depression was explained by respondent educational attainment in men but was not in women. A large portion of the association between educational attainment and depression was explained by type of household and satisfaction with social relationship among men. The effect of educational attainment on depression was fully mediated by type of household among women. The effect of type of household on depression was partly mediated by satisfaction with social relationship in men and women. Lastly, educational attainment, type of household and satisfaction with social relationship had an independent association with depression among men, but educational attainment was not statistically significant among women. Conclusions: Our study illuminated the importance of the independent and mediating effect of parental and respondent socioeconomic position and social relationship in the production of depression for South Korean adults.

The Influence of Job Satisfaction Factors on Turnover of Marine Sports Employees (해양스포츠 종사자의 직장생활에서의 만족요인이 이직에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research is to clarify the influence of job satisfaction factors on the turnover of marine sports employees and propose the methodical and scientific preliminary data suggesting the development of marine sports and policy direction. To achieve this research was conducted on 247 marine sports workers from February to March, 2013 and the findings are shown below. Firstly, male workers showed higher satisfaction rate in social recognition and salary. Female workers showed higher satisfaction in work conditions. Married workers with related license holders negative in promotion, but workers who are 50 and older with high school diploma showed higher satisfaction. Secondly, group of singles showed higher satisfaction rate in social recognition and peer relationship. People with related majors showed higher satisfaction in suitability, salary, peer relationship and social recognition. Thirdly, those who show higher satisfaction in social recognition, work condition, salary, suitability, and promotion are show a lower likelihood of changing their job.

A Study on the Job Satisfaction of HapKiDo Instructors (직무만족도분석을 위한 합기도 지도자 사례연구)

  • This study was analyzed to job satisfaction of 318 Instructors who are teaching HapKiDo, a martal art. The analysis is based on social and economic variables such as age, occupation, educational background, income, size of gymnasiums, the number of students, a length of training and the rank of skills (DAN). The study also made some helpful suggestions for better treatment to HapKiDo Instructors. To explore Instructors degree of satisfaction with their jobs. I considered their human relationship, job task, working conditions, compensation, the improvement of professionalism and social status. The study drew some important results.: First, Job satisfaction in terms of human relationship is very high(3.88). wheres the satisfaction in terms of compensation is very low(3.10). Second, the differences in job satisfaction were partially significant in terms of human relationship, job tasks, working conditions, compensation, the improvement professionalism and social status.

  • This study aims to investigate what communication phenomenon social viewing is associated with, and how satisfaction with using live commerce affects, taking into account that live commerce is a form of content consumption based on social viewing. In particular, social viewing is classified in this study as message production and sharing activities that influence users' satisfaction with live commerce viewing, as well as how two-dimensional social viewing behaviors are associated with users' perception of social presence. Then, the impact of these factors on improving viewing satisfaction is determined. It is also designed to investigate the moderating effect of social presence and viewing satisfaction as a function of the size of users' social networks by taking into account how social viewing affects the degree of social exchange among users. The findings of the analysis are as follows. First, social viewing behaviors. i.e., sharing and production behavior were identified as strong factors that have a direct impact on social presence and viewing satisfaction. Second, social presence plays a moderating role in the relationship between social viewing behavior and viewing satisfaction. Third, the impact of sharing behavior on social presence and viewing satisfaction was greater than the that of production behavior. Fourth, network size (number of followers and followings) had no direct effect on social reality or viewing satisfaction, but it had a moderating effect on the relationship between production behavior and social presence. Based on the findings, the implications and recommendations were discussed.

The mediating effect of grit and social support on the relationship between self-determination and life satisfaction in nursing students (간호대학생의 자기 결정성과 삶의 만족도 관계에서 그릿과 사회적 지지의 매개효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to confirm the relationship between nursing students' self-determination and life satisfaction in order to clarify the mediating effect of grit and social support, which can have a mutual influence on self-determination and life satisfaction. Methods: The data collection for this study was conducted from January 1 to 31, 2022, with nursing students enrolled in nursing departments at six universities located in three regions. The data collected in this study were analyzed using the IBM SPSS statistics 25.0 program. Results: The study found correlations between life satisfaction and self-determination (r=.64, p<.001), grit (r=.41, p<.001), and social support (r=.46, p<.001). Grit (B=0.06) and social support (B=0.06) showed a mediating effect in the relationship between self-determination and life satisfaction. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it is suggested that a program that can enhance the life satisfaction of nursing students be developed and implemented by focusing on social support, which is an external resource, and self-determination and grit, which are internal resources.

The Relationship between Self-rated Health and Depression in the Elderly with Chronic Illness -Moderating Effect of Satisfaction with Social Relationship and Leisure- (만성질환을 가진 노인의 주관적 건강과 우울인식의 관계 -사회적 친분관계 만족과 여가생활 만족의 조절효과-)

  • The main objectives of this study are to examine the effects of self-rated health on depression and to examine the moderating effect of satisfaction with social relationship and leisure on relationship between self-rated health and depression in the elderly with chronic illness. To do this, we analyzed 4,831 elderly people with chronic illness using the 10th Korea Welfare Panel data in 2015. To investigate the moderating effects of variables, we conducted a hierarchial regression analysis and confirmed the change $R^2$. As a result of that, first, subjective health, satisfaction with social relationship and satisfaction with leisure had a direct impact on depression. The results show that the better self-rated health of the elderly is, the higher satisfaction with social relationship is and the higher satisfaction with leisure is, the lower depression is. Second, it was found that satisfaction with social relationship and leisure was moderating variables in the relationship of subjective health and depression. This shows that the approach to the subjective aspect of the parties is important rather than the quantitative approach to the social interaction or leisure life. Based on this results, this study has proposed the implications and limitations of it and suggestions for further study.

Effects of Work Attitude of Fashion Models on Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention (패션모델의 직무스타일이 직무만족도 및 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the effects of job style on job satisfaction and turnover intention of fashion models, and the difference in the job style, job satisfaction and turnover intention by model activities period. Data was collected by surveying fashion models with more than 10 modeling experiences, and 230 responses were used in the data analysis. The results of were as follows: First, the job style of fashion models were classified into professional ability type, social relationship-focused type, future-oriented type and body-boasting type. Job satisfaction was classified into satisfaction with working conditions, satisfaction with model activities, and satisfaction with relationships. Turnover intention was classified into intention to change jobs, and intention to quit modeling. Second, being a professional ability type had a negative effect on satisfaction with working conditions, whereas being a future-oriented type had a positive effect on it. The professional ability type and social relationship-focused type had a positive effect on satisfaction with model activities, and the social relationship-focused type had a positive effect on satisfaction with relationships. Third, the future-oriented type and body-boasting type had a negative effect on the intention to change jobs. The social relationship-focused type, future-oriented type and body-boasting type had a negative effect on the intention to quit modeling. Fourth, there were significant differences in the professional ability type, human relationship-focused type, body-boasting type, intention to change jobs and intention to quit modeling by model activities period. Therefore, it is necessary for domestic fashion models to have the appropriate attitude to develop features and competency required for modeling projects and if improvements are made to enhance job satisfaction of fashion models, the fashion modeling industry is expected to make further developments.

Effect of Acculturative Stress on Multicultural Adolescents' Life Satisfaction: Sequential Multiple Mediating Effects of Bicultural Acceptance Attitude, Self-Esteem, and Social Withdrawal -Using the 2016 Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study- (다문화 청소년의 문화적응 스트레스가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향: 이중문화 수용태도, 자아존중감, 사회적 위축의 순차적 다중 매개효과 -2016년 다문화 청소년패널조사 이용-)

  • Purpose: This study determined acculturative stress' effect on the life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents based on Roy's Adaptation Model and some earlier studies. Further, it examined the sequential multiple mediating effects of bicultural acceptance attitude, self-esteem, and social withdrawal on life satisfaction. Methods: Participants included 1,163 multicultural adolescents who participated in the sixth Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study. A hypothesis test was conducted using Hayes' Process Macro Model 81. Results: Life satisfaction increased with a decline in acculturative stress. Each of bicultural acceptance attitude, self-esteem, and social withdrawal had a single mediating effect on the relationship between acculturative stress and life satisfaction in multicultural adolescents. The sequential multiple mediating effects of bicultural acceptance attitude and self-esteem were confirmed significant after their impact on the relationship between acculturative stress and life satisfaction was analyzed. Bicultural acceptance attitude and social withdrawal were found to have a significant sequential multiple mediating effect on the relationship, as well. Conclusion: This study's results demonstrate that acculturative stress reduction is critical to improving multicultural adolescents' life satisfaction. Bicultural acceptance attitude, self-esteem, and social withdrawal have a single mediating or sequential multiple mediating effect on the relationship between multicultural adolescents' acculturative stress and life satisfaction. The findings, which highlight mediating effects, indicate that by increasing bicultural acceptance attitude and self-esteem, and reducing social withdrawal, multicultural adolescents' life satisfaction can be improved.
