Purpose: Self-efficacy encompass one's belief in one's ability to organize and achieve goals. Previous studies have not adequately examined the mediating role of self-efficacy between social support and health promotion behavior. Therefore, this study explored the mediating role of self-efficacy in the relationship between social support and health promotion behavior among older women living alone. Methods: Participants were 145 older women living alone attending a local welfare center for seniors. They completed the Self-efficacy Scale, Medical Outcome Study Social Support Survey Scale, and Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile II. Data were analyzed using Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, Baron and Kenny's regression analysis and the Sobel test with the SPSS program. Results: The average social support, health promotion behavior, and self-efficacy were not high. Self-efficacy was a partial mediating role in the relationship between social support and health promotion behavior. Social support was positively correlated with self-efficacy (r=.31, p<.001) and with health promotion behavior (r=.43, p<.001), and self-efficacy was positively related with health promotion behavior (r=.39, p<.001). Conclusion: To enhance health promotion behavior in older women who live alone, intervention strategies to increase social support and self-efficacy for these women should be developed.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of family relations on adolescents' social competence. Furthermore, this study aimed to examine the mediating role of ego-resilience between those factors. Method: Two hundred and ninety-nine high school students completed measures of family cohesion, family expressiveness, ego-resilience, and social competence. T-tests, correlation and regression analyses were conducted. Results: The results reveled that family cohesion, family expressiveness, and ego-resilience were positively related to social competence. The results also revealed that family cohesion and expressiveness were significantly predicted social competence, emphasizing the role of family relations. Moreover, the association of family cohesion and expressiveness with adolescents' social competence was partially mediated by ego-resilience. Conclusions: The findings suggests that family cohesion and expressiveness contributes to adolescents' social competence directly and indirectly through ego-resilience. Results were discussed in terms of their implications for intervention to enhance social competence among adolescents.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between digital literacy and depressive symptoms, as well as the mediating role of social support in this relationship, among older women (60 years and older) in Korea. Methods: This study analyzed data from the User Experience Evaluation Survey, which was conducted by the Ewha Institute for Age Integration Research to improve the accessibility of digital information for older adults research from May to September 2020. Survey data on depressive symptoms, digital literacy, and social support were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. Results: The factors influencing depressive symptoms among older women included work status (B=-.19, p=.01), social support (B=-.17, p<.001), self-rated health (B=-.13, p=.003), and digital literacy (B=-.10, p=.005), which had an explanatory power of 33%. In addition, social support played a mediating role in the relationship between digital literacy and depressive symptoms (B=-.05, SE=.02; 95% CI, -.09 to -.02). Conclusion: The findings of this study support the need to develop and apply interventions that promote digital literacy among older women to mitigate depressive symptoms by increasing social support.

This study sought to investigate the spousal role expectation of married childbearing women in the social milieu. The purpose of this study was to determine the spouse's role expectation which influences marital quality and marital satisfaction, thereby contributing to married women's psychological well-being and family health. Data collection was done in the prenatal care center of 212 early adult, married, middle class women living in the urban area by interview. Using content analysis, 701 answers were recoded by 12 categories of role expectation as family integration, health maintenance, father role taking, personal maturity, communication and respect, social confidence, division of domestic labor, relationship with extended family, recreation and hobby, social support for wife's self actualization, faith in sexual relationship, and security in economic status. The influence of the altered gender role in modern society, women's expectation is derived from somewhat masculinity and feminity in role expectation. The results are discussed in relation to prototype of gender role and relationships. These finding will assist nurse in the understanding and intervening the marital problem and women's health.

This paper provokes considerations on companionship. As human-robot relation becomes important, the role and communication styles of robot become crucial. In order to see how we should design communication styles of social robots, we generated scenarios based on pre-studies. Then, we conducted a $2{\times}2$ experiment to compare four different conditions by expected role and communication style. We divided expected roles into playing and serving role by dominance level. Also, we matched communication style on one condition and mismatched on the other. The results imply matching role with communication style is crucial in some role, however not in every role. As HCI expands to human-computer relation, our study would inspire future research on companionship between human and robots.

To get social recognition and the basis of development of public libraries in the 21st century, the knowledge information age, Public libraries must recognize their social role clearly and perform it effectively. For performance of advisable social role of public libraries, this study proposed that 1) establishment Library's Bill of Rights, 2) abolition of the function of‘reading room’of libraries, 3) reform of the assessment system and introduction of certification system for improvement in service quality, 4) an epoch-making improvement of library collections.

The social dramatic play of seventeen five-year-old children was videotaped and transcribed for analysis of Intersubjectivity and play role types. The teachers of the children rated children's social competence. Results showed that children's Intersubjectivity in social dramatic play was related to their play role types and peer competence. Children with a high level of Intersubjectivity play leading roles during social dramatic play and were rated as socially competent by their teachers. The results were discussed from the Vygotskian perspective. Implications for early childhood teachers and suggestions for future studies were provided.

Considerable agreement exists about the importance of promoting entrepreneurship in both developed and developing countries. In less developed countries, governments see entrepreneurship as a way to stimulate economic development and tackle serious economic and social challenges. So how can countries encourage young people to become entrepreneurs? Research confirms that intentions play an important role in the decision to start a new firm and many factors influence that intentions. The purpose of the study was to investigate the antecedents to entrepreneurship behavior with particular attention to moderating role of social support and entrepreneur self-efficacy. The study covered 116 business students of undergraduate and post graduate level studying under different universities in Kathmandu, Nepal. The questionnaire for data collection was distributed in college groups via WhatsApp and viber with the support and permission from the college administration. The study design used was correlational with a sampling procedure of convenience. The study only showed the impact of attitude to entrepreneurship behavior as well as moderating effect of social support was also observed.

This study explored the role of Korean immigrant churches as a social context for Korean American youths, with a specific focus on its role in ethnic socialization. Semistructured interviews were conducted with 23 Korean American young adults. The results show that such churches serve as a salient social context for Korean American youths in which day-to-day lives are deeply integrated. Specifically, they serve as a salient context for coethnic peer relationships and family interactions. Moreover, Korean immigrant churches play a salient role as an agent of enculturation for Korean American youths by engaging them in cultural socialization, constructing and transmitting immigrant discourse, and providing a coethnic community. Taken as whole, findings suggest a distinct and salient role of immigrant churches in the lives of Korean American youths and highlight the importance of studying the social context specific to the children of immigrants.

This study verifies the validity of the role-relaxed consumption scale developed by Kahle (1995b) for Korean consumers. This study also tests a model that includes consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence along with attention to social comparison information as antecedents and their relationships. Data were gathered by surveying university students in Seoul, Korea, using convenience sampling, and 600 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. Correlation analysis, factor analysis, ANOVA and path analysis were conducted in order to analyze the data. It was proved that the role-relaxed consumption scale was effective for Korean consumers. A path analysis showed that consumer susceptibility to interpersonal influence and attention to social comparison information influence role-relaxed consumption.
