Automatic Recognition of Bank Security Card Using Smart Phone (스마트폰을 이용한 은행 보안카드 자동 인식)

  • Among the various services for mobile banking, user authentication method using bank security card is still very useful. We can use mobile banking easily and safely in case of saving encoded security codes in smart phone and entering codes automatically whenever user authentication is required without bank security card. In this paper automatic recognition algorithm of security codes of bank security card is proposed in oder to enroll the encoded security codes into smart phone using smart phone camera. Advanced adaptive binarization is used for extracting digit segments from various background image pattern and adaptive 2-dimensional layout analysis method is developed for segmentation and recognition of damaged or touched digits. Experimental results of proposed algorithm using Android and iPhone, show excellent security code recognition results.

  • Phishing is an attack to theft an user's identity by masquerading the user or the device. The number of phishing victims are sharply increased due to wide spread use of smart phones and messenger programs. Smart phones can operate various wi-fi based apps besides typical voice call and SMS functions. Generally, the messenger program such as Kakao Talk or Nate On is consisted of client and server functions. Thus, the authentication between the client and the server is essential to communicate securely. In this paper, we propose the messenger authentication protocol safe against smart phone phishing. To protect communications among clients, the proposed method provides message encryption and authentication functions.

  • APP based on the smart phone is being utilized to various scopes such as medical services in hospitals, financing services at banks and credit card companies, and ubiquitous technologies in companies and homes etc. In this service environment, exposures of smart phones cause loss of assets including leaks of official/private information by outsiders. Though secret keys, pattern recognition technologies, and single image authentication techniques are being applied as protective methods, but they have problems in that accesses are possible by utilizing static key values or images like pictures. Therefore, this study proposes a face authentication technology for protecting smart phones from these dangerous factors and problems. The proposed technology authenticates users by extracting key frames of user's facial images by real time, and also controls accesses to the smart phone. Authentication information is composed of multiple key frames, and the user' access is controlled by distinction algorism of similarity utilizing DC values of image's pixel and luminance.

  • Internet banking, electronic financial services and internet telephony service can be available on smart phone recently. In this case, more robust authentication mechanisms should be provided for enhancing security on it. In this study, a facial biometric ID based one-time password generation mechanism is designed and implemented for enhancing user authentication on smart phone. After capturing a facial biometric data using camera module on smart phone, it is sent to server to generate one-time biometric ID. Finally one-time password will be generated by client module after receiving the one time biometric ID based challenge token from the server. Using proposed biometric ID based one-time password mechanism, it is possible for us to provide more secure user authentication service on smart phone for SIP protocol.

  • We propose a new enhanced graphical user interface and algorithm for dynamic signature verification using Smart-phone. Also, we describe the performance results of our dynamic signature verification system, which determine the authentication of signatures by comparing and analyzing various dynamic data shape of the signature, writing speed, slant of shape, and the order and number of strokes for personal signatures using an electronic pen, expecting the system to be understood and utilized widely in the industrial field.

  • Recently, request of IPTV was increase. It is a multi-screen service by used TV, PC, and smart-phones. Especially, IPTV and smart-phone linked multi-screen service are very growth by user's recommends. Now, IPTV have a security service partial and multi-screen service. But smart-phone and multi-screen service don't have security service. And authentication service for smart-phone and IPTV linked multi-screen service is don't.. Therefore, We propose that user authentication system for multi-screen service with IPTV and multi-device linked authentcation services. Our proposed system base on Kerberos, so proposal is easy and fast about user authentication. This have simple procedures and more secure services against of PKI. So, our system can support secure multi-screen services against various security threats in multi-screen environments.

  • Only if the secret key stored in the engine ECU matches car key stored in the car, immobilizer system is a car anti-theft system that automobile engine takes. To take an action as soon in case of losing car key or being stolen, the ASPI protocol is proposed for assigning a new password after finishing user authentication by the smart phone etc. The shortcoming point of that directly bring the car to a service center in case of losing key can be complemented by the proposed protocol. In case of the car and key both are theft together, the car can be stopped soon.

  • As the developing of the information technology, M2M market that is using communication between devices is growing rapidly and many companies are involved in M2M business. In this paper, the concept of telematics and vulnerabilities of vehicle network security are discussed. The convergence of vehicle and information technology, the development of mobile communication technology have improved quality of service that provided to user but as a result security threats has diverse. We proposed new business model that be occurred to the participation of mobile carriers in telematics business and we analyzed mobile radio communication network security vulnerabilities. We proposed smart phone and Vehicle authentication scheme with M2M device as a way to solve vulnerabilities.

  • Smart phones, greatly expanding in the recent mobile market, are equipped with various features compared to existing feature phones and provide the conveniences to in several ways. The camera, one of the features of a smartphone, creates the digital contents, such photos and videos, and plays a role for the media which transmits information, such as video calls and bar code reader. QR-Code recognition is also one of the camera features. It contains a variety of information in two-dimensional bar code type in matrix format, and makes it possible to obtain the information by using smart phones. This paper analyzes the method of QR-Code recognition, password method-the existing user-authentication technique, smart card, biometrics and voice recognition and so on and thenn designs a new user-authentication technique. The proposed user-authentication technique is the technique in which QR-Code, which can be simply granted is read by smart phones and transmitted to a server, for authentication. It has the advantages in view that it will simply the process of authentication and conteract the disadvantages, such as brute force attack, man-inthe-middle attack, and keyboard hacking, which may occur in other authentication techniques.

A Design of Safe AKA Module for Adapted Mobile Payment System on Openness SMART Phone Environment (개방형 스마트 폰 환경에 적합한 모바일 결제 시스템을 위한 안전한 AKA(Authentication Key Agreement) 모듈 설계)

  • The USIM-based AKA authentication process is essential to a mobile payment system on smart phone environment. In this paper a payment protocol and an AKA module are designed for mobile payment system which is suitable for openness smart phone environment. The payment protocol designs the cross authentication among components of the mobile payment system to improve the reliability of the components. The AKA module of mobile payment system based on 3GPP-AKA protocol prevents the exposure of IMSI by creating the SSK(Shared Secure Key) through advance registration and solves the SQN(SeQuence Number) synchronization problem by using timestamp. Also, by using the SSK instead of authentication vector between SN and authentication center, the existing bandwidth $(688{\times}N){\times}R$ bit between them is reduced to $320{\times}R$ bit or $368{\times}R$ bit. It creates CK and IK which are message encryption key by using OT-SSK(One-Time SSK) between MS and SN. In addition, creating the new OT-SSK whenever MS is connected to SN, it prevents the data replay attack.
