Implementation of Home Security System using a Mobile App (모바일 앱을 이용한 홈 시큐리티 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, we aim to respond efficiently to crime by using Arduino and smartphone apps in response to increasing number of house-breaking crimes. It receives the signal of the sensor installed in the house and connects it with the app of the smartphone. To use the app, you can download the app from the user's smartphone, launch the app, and operate the operation outside the home, not only inside the house, by linking the executed app. Among the sensors installed in the house, the movement detection sensor is used to enhance the security, and the gas leakage sensor and the flame detection sensor can be used to easily detect the risk of fire and to prevent the fire early. Security is further enhanced by the ability to remotely control the front door with a smartphone. After that, various sensors can be added and it can be developed as a WiFi module in addition to the Bluetooth module.

  • In recent years, the number of single-person elderly households has increased, but when an emergency situation occurs inside the house in the case of single-person households, it is difficult to inform the outside world. Various smart home solutions have been proposed to detect emergency situations in single-person households, but it is difficult to use video media such as home CCTV, which has problems in the privacy area. Furthermore, if only a single sensor is used to analyze the abnormal situation of the elderly in the house, accurate situational analysis is limited due to the constraint of data amount. In this paper, therefore, we propose an algorithm of abnormal situation detection fusion inside the house by fusing 2DLiDAR, dust, and voice sensors, which are closely related to everyday life while protecting privacy, based on their correlations. Moreover, this paper proves the algorithm's reliability through data collected in a real-world environment. Adnormal situations that are detectable and undetectable by the proposed algorithm are presented. This study focuses on the detection of adnormal situations in the house and will be helpful in the lives of single-household users.

  • Based on Smart Phone, this study added and implemented the mobile App to the existing IT agriculture system, which system automatically controlled green house's growth environment. Because the mobile App characterfully possesses high portability, limited resource, mobile wireless network support, enterprise mobile computing support, etc., the hybrid-App should be inevitably adopted. The hybrid App can minimize resource consumption for performing related duties and also, in spite of the mobile device's limits, it can derive high performance, in which facts the system can ensure the service-based architecture's reliance and also, implements the highly sophisticated functionality as well. Through the proposed system, the study expects to contribute to improve quality of life as well as to increase farmer's income through IT-based agriculture system development.

A Broadband Microstrip Array Antenna for 3G Smart Antenna System Testbed

  • A compact and broadband $4\times1$ array antenna was developed for 3G smart antenna system testbed. The $4\times1$ uniform linear away antenna was designed to operate at 1.885 to 2.2GHz with a total bandwidth of 315MHz. The array elements were based on the novel broadband L-probe fed inverted hybrid E-H (LIEH) shaped microstrip patch, which offers 22% size reduction to the conventional rectangular microstrip patch antenna. For steering the antenna beam, a commercial variable attenuator (KAT1D04SA002), a variable phase shifter (KPH350SC00) with four units each, and the corporate 4-ways Wilkinson power divider which was fabricated in-house were integrated to form the beamforming feed network. The developed antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 17.32% $(VSWR\leq1.5)$, 21.78% $(VSWR\leq2)$ with respect to center frequency 2.02GHz and with an achievable gain of 11.9dBi. The design antenna offer a broadband, compact and mobile solution for a 3G smart antenna testbed to fully characterized the IMT-2000 radio specifications and system performances.

  • Smart home System is shirt-sleeve, the automatic control systems, computer network system and network communication technology in the integration of network intelligent home control system. Intelligent household will let users have a more convenient means to management of domestic equipment, for example, through the house, wireless remote control, touch screen phone and Internet or speech recognition control household devices, more can perform scene operation, make more equipment form linkage. In this paper, we propose the intelligent household various kinds of equipment within each other can communication, do not need to user command according to different state interactive operation, thus to bring the greatest degree of user efficient and convenient, comfortable and safe.

  • Recently, there are many home network applications using the convergence between mobile platforms and home network system. As smart phones which are called small PC in the hand becoming popular, the development of home network application beyond the one of cellular phones is required. Android mobile platform of Google includes OS, middleware and primary applications. Also, in addition to smart phones, it can be mounted on various devices such as set-top box and household appliances. In this paper, home network services on smart phones of Android platform are designed and implemented. The services provide real-time monitoring information (temperature, humidity, real-time video) of rooms and appliance control in a house.

  • Many forces are pressuring utilities to reduce operating and maintenance costs without cutting back on reliability or availability. Many utility managers are re-evaluating maintenance strategies to meet these demands. To utilities how to reduce maintenance costs and extent the effective operating life of equipment, predictive maintenance technique can be adapted. Predictive maintenance has three types program which arc in-house program, engineering company program and mixed program. We can approach successful predictive maintenance program with "smart trust" concept.

  • This paper is concerned with the implementation of power line communication system with 9.6Kbps. This system is suitable to establish the smart home using the power line having been installed in house. In the suggested power line communication system, we use the chirp signal with a linearity and spread spectrum frequency band of 100KHz~200KHz. We had the performance experiment for the implementation system. The experiment was achieved in the pseudo load network similar to real circumstance of power line communication. As the result, the communications under the circumstance were accomplished satisfactorily. We confirmed that the suggested 9.6Kbps power line communication system with the Chirped-SS method had the performance enough to commercialize the smart home.

  • This study investigates the demand management and energy saving plan of the apartment house based on the ESS (: Energy Storage System), which is the main equipment in the field of electric power energy efficiency, and suggests standardization for various technical factors and operation. It contributes to the spread of ESS industry. In addition, to create ESS market for apartment houses and smart homes, housing IoT technology is used to integrate apartment houses with smart home-based ESS and it is possible to achieve use efficiency and economic feasibility of power users, We will study a business model that can reconsider the acceptability of power users.
