  • As the research activities related to 'Ubiquitous Computing' whose concept was introduced by Mark Weiser are growing, RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology has recently gained attention as a technology to advance the ubiquitous computing and a lot of related researches are also in progress. Research works done so far are mainly linked to the situation that the research outputs apply to meet the requirements for asset tracking and data sharing with partners over supply chain by using fixed RFID readers. However, it is essential that users have access to real-time information about the tagged objects and services whenever and wherever they want in the era of ubiquitous computing, so mobile devices-including PDA, smart phone, cellular phone, etc - which are equipped with an RFID reader can be regarded as an essential terminal for users living in ubiquitous computing environment. As far as the application with mobile devices are concerned, there are many considerations due to their limited capabilities of data processing, battery consumption and so on. In this paper, we review the generic RFID network model and introduce the revised RFID network model in consideration of incorporation with mobile devices equipped with an RFID reader. Also, we derive the requirements for software embedded within an RFID- enabled mobile terminal and then discuss essential components for implementation. Moreover, we develop the applications for asset management at museum by using mobile RFID network model.

  • Many sensor network applications have been developed for smart home, disaster management, and a wide range of other applications. These applications, however, generally assume a fixed base station as well as fixed sensor nodes. Previous research on sensor networks mainly focused on efficient transmission of data from sensors to fixed sink nodes. Recently there has been active research on mobile sink nodes, sink mobility is one of the most comprehensive trends for information gathering in sensor networks, but the research of an environment where both fixed sink nodes and mobile sinks are present at the same time is rather scarce. This paper proposes a scheme for context-aware by ubiquitous devices with the sink functionality added through fixed sinks under a previously-built, cluster-based multi-hop sensor network environment. To this end, clustering of mobile devices were done based on the fixed sinks of a previously-built sensor network, and by using appropriate fixed sinks, context gathering was made possible. By mathematical comparison with TTDD routing protocol, which was proposed for mobile sinks, it was confirmed that performance increases by average 50% in energy with the number of mobile sinks, and with the number of movements by mobile devices.

  • Recently, smart devices can be used with a variety of programs. Because of these characteristics, suitable lectures are provided to mobile device in Korea educational facilities. However, it is possible to reduce the learning efficiency from taking courses. because of many smart devices are using in a small display. Therefore, we need effectively in a small display content layout for overcome these problems. In this paper, we proposed content layer format for smart devices by Illustrated Programs based on Golden Ratio.

  • Recently, mobile wireless data traffic has been dramatically increased due to not only the popularization of digital convergence devices including smart phone, Net-book, and Tablet PC, but also the vitalization of wireless Internet related eco-systems such as AppStore. In addition, it is expected that a tremendous increase in mobile data is caused by the release of unlimited mobile data plans (flat-fee). In order to deal with such mobile data traffic explosion, it is necessary that network operators should make efforts to offload wireless data traffic. This paper reviews the condition of mobile wireless data traffic in domestic and international telecommunication industry and looks for various action plans to overcome the difficulty of network operators.

  • Mobile RFID is a new application that uses a mobile phone as an RFID reader with wireless technology and provides a new valuable service to users by integrating RFID and ubiquitous sensor network infrastructures with mobile communication and wireless Internet. Whereas the mobile RFID system has many advantages, privacy violation problems on the reader side are very concerning to individuals and researchers. Unlike in regular RFID environments, where the communication channel between the server and reader is assumed to be secure, the communication channel between the backend server and the RFID reader in the mobile RFID system is not assumed to be safe. Therefore it has become necessary to devise a new communication protocol that secures the privacy of mobile RFID-enabled devices. Recently, Lo et al. proposed a mutual key agreement protocol that secures the authenticity and privacy of engaged mobile RFID readers by constructing a secure session key between the reader and server. However, this paper shows that this protocol does not meet all of the necessary security requirements. Therefore we developed an enhanced mutual key agreement protocol for mobile RFID-enabled devices that alleviates these concerns. We further show that our protocol can enhance data security and provide privacy protection for the reader in an unsecured mobile RFID environment, even in the presence of an active adversary.

  • This paper proposes the design of Vehicular Cyber-Physical Systems (called VCPS) based on vehicular cloud for smart road networks. Our VCPS realizes mobile cloud computing services where vehicles themselves or mobile devices (e.g., smartphones and tablets of drivers or passengers in vehicles) play a role of both cloud server and cloud client in the vehicular cloud. First, this paper describes the architecture of vehicular networks for VCPS and the delay modeling for the event prediction and data delivery, such as a mobile node's travel delay along its navigation path and the packet delivery delay in vehicular networks. Second, the paper explains two VCPS applications as smart road services for the driving efficiency and safety through the vehicular cloud, such as interactive navigation and pedestrian protection. Last, the paper discusses further research issues for VCPS for smart road networks.

  • Recently, important information related with smart work such as office and video conference are handled in smart device quite a lot compare with before. Also, execution environment of smart devices is getting developed as open software environment. It brought convenience to download and use any kind of application software. By that, security side of smart devices became vulnerable. This paper will discuss characteristics of smart device security technology based on virtualization that is a mobile device platform with isolated secure execution area based on TEE (Trusted Execution Environment). Also, this paper will suggest an implementation method about safe smart device security platform based on domain separation for application software which can be executed in smart devices. The domain separation based smart device security platform technology in this paper blocks unauthorized access and leakage of sensitive information in device. Also it will be the solution can block transmission and execution of malicious code in various area including variety of IoT devices in internet rather than just smart devices.

  • The wide use of mobile devices such as smart phones makes the mobile commerce industry be growing-up rapidly. In mobile commerce security, how to secure a copyright of mobile contents and how to distribute it are of major concerns. The user can carry the smart phone regardless of the places. Thus the utilization of it is very high than that of personal computers. The USIM(Universal Subscriber Information Module) inserted in the smart phone binds the user with the device. This means that the smart phone can be used to represent the owner's identity. In this paper, we develop the mobile ID based digital signature scheme. We create the mobile ID by combining USIM with the user's random secret value. In addition, undeniable property of our signature scheme can make ID based applications such as mobile voting and mobile content distribution be possible with the smart phone.

  • As the fourth industrial revolution began to take off in earnest, the quality and quantity of data shared among devices began to increase exponentially over the network. In addition, the category of devices where people are exposed to such data has become diversified into desktops, mobile phones, smart phones, smart pads, and smart watches. As a result, the medium that contacts the data has begun to change, and the place where modern society has the most data is smart device. However, smart devices still leave much to be desired in terms of network speed and hardware specifications to handle large amounts of data at one time. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the use of Service Worker, IndexedDB, and LocalStroage, which can retrieve a large amount of web contents more efficiently from mobile devices, and suggest ways to improve it.

  • Recently, it is expected that the domestic production of multimedia devices including smart phones and tablets will be over 7 billion in total. Mobile earphones, one of the main parts in such devices, have been produced more than the production of multimedia devices. Manufacturers cost a lot to test the performance of mobile earphones because the quality of mobile earphones is very important even if their prices are low. This paper has proposed the integrated equipment to reduce the costs and time for the performance test of existing mobile earphones.
