  • Recently the existing one-way electricity system that combines information and communications technology to develop smart grid technology is made active. The core infrastructure of the smart grid, AMI smart meters to AMR system, the amount of power measured at the top to MDMS transmits data store. Smart meters utilizing information and communication technology to transfer data and power because of the existing security threats are expected, including the additional security threats. It exposes the privacy of consumers and industrial systems, such as paralysis is likely to result in the loss. In this paper to respond to these security threats in the environment smart grid. Also, We propose data transfer methods between smartmeter and MDMS and between home device and MDMS.

  • As natural language processing technology using machine learning develops, a Smart Home Network Service (SHNS) is drawing attention again. However, it is difficult to apply a standardized authentication scheme for SHNS because of the diversity of components and the variability of users. Blockchain is proposed for data authentication in a distributed environment. But there is a limit to applying it to SHNS due to the computational overhead required when implementing a proof-of-work system. In this paper, a lightweight work proof system is proposed. The proposed lightweight proof-of-work system is proposed to manage block generation by controlling the work authority of the device. In addition, this paper proposes an access control scheme for SHNS.

  • IoT is being used in a lot of industry domain such as smart home, smart ocean, smart energy, and smart farm, as well as legacy information services. For a server, an IoT device using the same protocol is a trusted object. Therefore, a malicious attacker can use an unauthorized IoT device to access IoT-based information services and access unauthorized important information, and then modify or extract it to the outside. In this study, to improve these problems, we propose an IoT device authentication system used in IoT-based information service. The IoT device authentication system proposed in this study applies identifier-based authentication such as MAC address. If the IoT device authentication function proposed in this study is used, only the authenticated IoT device can access the server. Since this study applies a method of terminating the session of an unauthorized IoT device, additional research on the access deny method, which is a more secure authentication method, is needed.

  • The concept of Smart-Homes is becoming more and more popular. It is anticipated that Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) technology will play a major role in such environments. We can find many previously proposed schemes that focus solely on: authentication between the RFID tags and readers, and user privacy protection from malicious readers. There has also been much talk of a very popular RFID application: a refrigerator/bookshelf that can scan and list out the details of its items on its display screen. Realizing such an application is not as straight forward as it seems to be, especially in securely deploying such RFID-based applications in a smart home environment. Therefore this paper describes some of the RFID-based applications that are applicable to smart home environments. We then identify their related privacy and security threats and security requirements and also propose a secure approach, where RFID-tagged consumer items, RFID-reader enabled appliances (e.g., refrigerators), and RFID-based applications would securely interact among one another. At the moment our approach is just a conceptual idea, but it sheds light on very important security issues related to RFID-based applications that are beneficial for consumers.

  • In this paper, we design and implement the UHSNS-DRM(Ubi-Home Smart Multimedia Streaming-Digital Right Management) in Ubi-Home. The proposed system support flexible distribution platform for digital content copyright protection and management in Ubi-Home. This system also can provide multimedia streaming service to authorized users who are using PC, STB, PDA, and Portable Device, etc. Furthermore, we adopt concept of domain authentication and it help to improve the efficiency of license management for all devices in Ubi-Home. We design user's location recognition algorithm in order to provide intelligent services. Of course, this algorithm is applied for the proposed system. Start after striking space key 2 times.

  • It is expected that internet of things can be used for various fields such as smart home, smart building and smart city as the representative case of ICT that sensor, communication and interface technologies operate organically and the researches of the technologies regarding internet of things are being carried out in each countries worldwide. However, many problems rise against internet of things continuously in respect of security. Among them, the problem of privacy is the one that should be solved definitely regarding internet of things. If user data does not remain during the process of user authentication, such the privacy problem can be solved. In this paper, we propose the framework of user authentication based on OAuth that is suitable for the environment of internet of things that can solve privacy problem and analyze its security.

  • With the development of IOT technology and the expansion of ICT services recently, a variety of home network services have been advanced based on wired and wireless high speed telecommunication. Domestic and global companies have been studying on the innovative technology for the users using IOT based technology and the environment for the smart home services has been gradually developed. The users live their lives with more convenience due to the expansions and developments of smart phones. However, the threatening on the security of the smart home network had occurred by various attacks with the connection to the smart environment telecommunication, lack of applications on low powered and light weight telecommunication, and the problems of security guideline. In addition, the solutions are required for the new and variant attacking cases such as data forgery and alteration of the device for disguising approach with ill will. In this article, the safe communication protocol was designed using certification management technique based on AKI which supplemented the weakness of PKI, the existing certification system in the smart environment. Utilizing the signature technique based on ECDSA, the efficiency on the communication performance was improved, and the security and the safety were analyzed on the security threat under the smart home environment.

  • With the development of IoT technology, various cloud computing-based services such as smart cars, smart healthcare, smart homes, and smart farms are expanding. With the advent of a new environment, various problems continue to occur, such as the possibility of exposure of important information such as personal information or company secrets, financial damage cases due to hacking, and human casualties due to malicious attack techniques. In this paper, we propose a message communication protocol for smart home-based secure communication and user data protection. As a detailed process, secure device registration, message authentication protocol, and renewal protocol were newly designed in the smart home environment. By referring to the security requirements related to the smart home service, the stability of the representative attack technique was verified, and as a result of performing a comparative analysis of the performance, the efficiency of about 50% in the communication aspect and 25% in the signature verification aspect was confirmed.

  • In this paper, we analyse the vulnerabilities of KL scheme which is an ID-based authentication scheme for AMI network, and propose two kinds of authentication schemes which satisfy forward secrecy as well as security requirements introduced in the previous works. In the first scheme, we use MDMS which is the supervising system located in an electrical company for a time-synchronizing server, in order to synchronize smart grid devices in home, and we process device authentication with a new secret value generated by OTP function every session. In the second scheme, we use a secret hash-chain mechanism for authentication process, so we can use a new secret value every session. The proposed two schemes have strong points and weak points respectively and those depend on the services area and its environment, so we can select one of them efficiently considering real aspects of AMI environment.

  • The rapidly growing IoT market is expanding not only in general households but also in smart homes and smart cities. Among the major protocols used in IoT, ZigBee accounts for more than 90% of the smart home's door lock market and is mainly used in miniaturized sensor devices, so the safety of the protocol is very important. However, the device using Zig Bee is not satisfied with the omnidirectional safety because it uses a fixed key during the authentication process that connects to the network, and it has not been resolved in the recently developed ZigBee 3.0. This paper proposes a design method that provides omnidirectional safety to the ZigBee authentication protocol and can be quickly applied to existing protocols. The proposed improved ZigBee authentication protocol analyzed and applied the recently developed OWE protocol to apply ECDH, which has low computational volume and provides omnidirectional safety in IoT. Based on this, it provides the safety of the ZigBee authentication protocol, and it is expected that it will be able to provide user convenience as it does not require a separate certificate or password input.
