  • In this paper, optimized media data retrieval and transmission based on the Hybrid CDN/P2P architecture and selective storage through user's prediction of requestability enable seamless data transfer to users and reduction of unnecessary traffic. We also propose a new media management method to minimize the possibility of transmission delay and packet loss so that media can be utilized in real time. To this end, we construct each media into logical segments, continuously compute weights for each segment, and determine whether to store segment data based on the calculated weights. We also designate scattered computing nodes on the network as local groups by distance and ensure that storage space is efficiently shared and utilized within those groups. Experiments conducted to verify the efficiency of the proposed technique have shown that the proposed method yields a relatively good performance evaluation compared to the existing methods, which can enable both initial latency reduction and seamless transmission.

Also, this research provide some strategic insights for improving business performance. In the proposed model, self-determination consists of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, and entrepreneurship consists of innovation, initiative and risk sensitivity, and proactiveness. More specifically, this study proposes a framework that entrepreneurship and operational performance will play mediating roles between self-determination and financial performance. Research design, data, methodology: In this study, an online survey was conducted on SME CEOs for analysis, and a total of 122 samples were used. In the analysis process for hypothesis verification and evaluation, frequency analysis was first performed to identify the demographic characteristics of the respondents, and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to assess the reliability and validity of the measurement model. In addition, a structural model analysis was conducted to examine the structural relationships between CEO's self-determination, entrepreneurship, and business performance (operational and financial performance) using SmartPLS 3.0. Results: The findings and summary are as follows. First, the autonomy of self-determination has a positive effect on entrepreneurship. Second, the competence of self-determination affects entrepreneurship and operational performance. Third, it affects the innovation, initiative and risk sensitivity of the CEO's entrepreneurship, and ultimately, its operational performance. The results show that the business performance of Start-up also increases when self-determination can be a factor in increasing entrepreneurship in three sub-dimensionalities. Conclusions: The conclusion of this study is that in order for SMEs to develop into a sustainable company by securing competitiveness after start-up, external motivation such as external help and support from the state (local government) is important, but competence and relationship, which are components of self-determination. The intrinsic motivation of the CEO may be more important. To this end, CEO's should prioritize learning for competency development, and the government should pay attention to providing various educational programs through establishment of education policies and education systems to enhance the competency of start-up CEO's.

  • Recently many organizations have adopted 'untact' work due to social distancing caused by Coronavirus-19. To clarify some controversy about the effectiveness from 'untact' work, it is necessary to examine the cognition of organizational members. This study identified issues in 'untact' work from the literature review, analyzed the content of in-depth interviews with workers and managers experiencing 'untact' work, and compared both groups' cognition by applying the co-orientation model. Both groups pointed out the communication difficulty as the top disadvantage and showed no significant differences in job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work-life balance. However, the two groups showed significant differences in their cognition about performance evaluation (agreement and workers' congruence) and productivity enhancement (workers' accuracy). This paper has an academic contribution in that it has focused on cognitive gaps between workers and managers, urges organizations to devise ways to reduce the gaps, and suggests future studies with quantitative approaches.

  • Owing to the recent increase in the frequency of explosion accidents, blast resistive design has garnered attention to reduce the damage of important structural elements. However, domestic research on the blast resistive structures is still insufficient, and domestic design guideline against blast loads are not documented yet. In this study, a numerical study on the RC blast resistive walls, where the test variable was the presence of FRP sheet, was performed using LS-DYNA program. Based on the numerical results, displacement-time hysteretic curve, pressure-impulse diagram, and fragility curve of the test specimens were derived. It was shown that the FRP sheet strengthening method is efficient to improve the blast resistive performance of the RC wall. Also, the strengthening effect of FRP sheet on the RC wall was stronger when the magnitude of the blast load was greater.

  • This paper proposes the design and implementation results for human and object classification systems utilizing frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar sensor. Such a system requires the process of radar sensor signal processing for multi-target detection and the process of deep learning for the classification of human and object. Since deep learning requires such a great amount of computation and data processing, the lightweight process is utmost essential. Therefore, binary neural network (BNN) structure was adopted, operating convolution neural network (CNN) computation in a binary condition. In addition, for the real-time operation, a hardware accelerator was implemented and verified via FPGA platform. Based on performance evaluation and verified results, it is confirmed that the accuracy for multi-target classification of 90.5%, reduced memory usage by 96.87% compared to CNN and the run time of 5ms are achieved.

  • Humans are environmentally exposed to various electromagnetic fields, but the evaluation of the harmfulness of electromagnetic field and the development of a system therefor are still incomplete. We aimed to develop a system for evaluating biohazard against electromagnetic fields, and to determine biohazard through the system. An extremely-low frequency magnetic field generator was designed and manufactured, and the output reliability of the device was verified. Using this device, the effect on the formation of cellular stress-granules and the cell cycle progression of cells exposed to high magnetic fields of 6 mT and 60 Hz was confirmed. As a result, exposure to high magnetic fields of 6 hr, 12 hr and 36 hr did not affect the formation of cell stress-induced granules and the cell division cycle. These results are an important basis for the determination of biohazard to the extremely-low frequency high magnetic field.
