  • In July of last year, the Korean version of the New Deal National Report Conference was held in the presence of the President, and the "Korean version of the New Deal Comprehensive Plan" was announced as its core strategy. In the field of education, the "Green Smart Future School" project has been included as one of the top 10 Korean New Deal projects. And last year, due to the spread of non-face-to-face classes due to COVID-19, the demand for ICT technology in front-line education sites rapidly increased. Therefore, In this paper, we examine the problems of the wireless network and wired infrastructure of the classroom in the past, and design wired network infrastructure and wireless network equipment for green smart classrooms with high-speed wireless networks that can be used for non-face-to-face and face-to-face classes, and build them in actual classrooms. An example for the following was presented.

The Intelligence APP development for children's Kanji character education using Block and Stop motion

  • With the growing shift from traditional educational approaches and studying to the more digital classroom, using electronic textbooks and digital native's demand, there is a growing need to develop new methods for learn Kanji characters for children. The purpose of this study is to help children learn the basic Kanji by using stop motion and block methods, and approaching the basic Kanji character education with a more innovative and interactive smart phone APP. In the development of this smart phone App for children's Kanji character education proposed in this study, 100 basic Kanji characters for children are selected. These 100 characters are required for the stop motion animation production, where each selected Kanji is created as a stop-motion animation utilizing a variety of techniques, such as storytelling, to better engage children. The intelligent App is designed with image recognition technology, so that in the learning process children take a picture for the assembled block using their smart phone, the APP then recognizes whether it is assembled correctly, and then plays an animation corresponding to the assembled Kanji character.

  • In recent years, the use of touch screens has expanded, and devices such as remote controllers have been developed in various ways to control and access contents at long range. The wireless-based touch screen is used in classroom, seminar room, and remote video conversation in addition to the TV remote control. The purpose of the study is to design a smart phone-based intuitive interface that can perform the role of a wireless mouse and a wireless keyboard at range using Bluetooth and to develop an application that integrates functions of a mouse and a keyboard. Firstly, touch interaction model for controlling software such as PowerPoint by connecting to a general PC on a smart phone has been studied. The most simple touch operation interface is used to reproduce the function of existing devices and design more simply. The studies of the extension of interfaces with various functions are important, but development of optimized interfaces for users will become more important in the future. In this sense, this study is valuable.

  • The purpose of this study was threefold: to design and develop a smart teaching and learning system based on flipped learning for elementary subject matter education; to apply the system to the elementary classroom; and to examine the effects of the system on students' achievement and satisfaction levels. The system was composed of a video part, a date part, and a learning line part. Presentations, preinstructional videos, and spreadsheets were created for the flipped classroom. The results of the analyses indicated that the teaching and learning system positively influenced students' achievement and satisfaction levels. The study concluded with the implications of the study and suggestions for the future study.

  • In the near future, we can access the information whenever we want, wherever we use because almost devices in ubiquitous environment are connected by either wired or wirelss networks. Especially, u-Learning which emphasizes on pedagogical property is enable to improve learning abilities. As researches of the previous u-Learning, there have been learning by mobile devices such as PDAs as well as the smart classroom which makes the remote students participate in the existing class. However, these researches have not satisfied pedagogical, cooperative and ubiquitous properties yet. Thus we suggest the framework for both local and mobile classroom, which can make the properties easy to satisfy.

Electronic Attendance System Using Smart Device and High Frequency Signal

  • Recently, many universities have used various electronic attendance systems such as NFC, QR code, Sound-QR, Bluetooth BLE authentication, and face recognition to process attendance. However, existing methods have various problems such as attendance errors due to deformation of authentication signals, mis-recognition attendance from outside the classroom, and difficulty to process seat absence during class. Therefore, this study proposes a high-frequency signal-based electronic attendance system to solve these problems and manage more accurate electronic attendance. As the high-frequency signal replaces the BLE signal, and the transmission range of the signal is limited to the classroom, and the signal value can be immediately changed if a change of the signal is needed. To verify the performance of the proposed system, we conducted a comparative experiment with the Bluetooth based electronic attendance system, and as a result, the proposed method showed high accuracy. Thus, the proposed method will be a useful service that can be immediately used in smart device-based electronic attendance system.

  • Under the circumstance of Ubiquitous Society, service should be provided according to the users' location and environment. When specific service is demanded by user, the technology, which can help to detect whether there are devices performing the requested service in the ubiquitous network, is mandatory. This technology also should guarantee that users have the appropriate service through the most suitable device which is selected by this technology. The priority is an essential factor when multi service are asked by multi users simultaneouslyin the ubiquitous network, The paper focuses on realization of Smart Classroom which provides multi users, such as the professor and the students, with active services based on the Zigbee network and the Mobile platform.

  • This study presents the educational utility of blended learning by analyzing the effectiveness of learning after class by blending team project learning and smart device app-based learning methods. Qualitative analysis and survey analysis were conducted and the results were as follows. First, team project activities based on task resolution were conducted freely through detailed activities such as sharing roles, planning meetings, and coordinating opinions. Team activities were carried out with respect and consideration, team member bonding, and a sense of responsibility. Second, the smart device app is recognized as a medium for work and communication, and fast feedback has been made, making it highly impactful on classroom activities. Third, in terms of learning satisfaction, most learners showed an interest in the course and were satisfied with the project results. The smart device app was used as a learning and communication medium for personal and team activities and was analyzed as a blended method applicable to classes that conduct practical activities as an efficient tool to further activate project activities.

  • The purpose of this study is to present various examples of collaborative learning based on the Instruction of Internet in the 6th grade elementary school mathematics class. So we introduce the design method of classroom environment for classroom Internet and give example of various teaching methods. This study was conducted for nine months from March to November, 2016, one sixth grade of elementary school in D area. During this period, we conducted Instruction of Internet-based collaborative learning to classify typical teaching cases. We classified into 5 type collaborative learning. First, collaborative learning in the classroom. Second, remote collaborative learning between classroom and classroom. Third, Live participation classes. Forth, project collaborative learning. Fifth, using virtual reality in collaborative learning. In addition, we could identify that there is a difference compared to the conventional learning. It became possible to conduct collaborative learning with other students simultaneously or have opening class with both parents and teachers by using Youtube. These examples can be presented as a case to depart from traditional mathematics class in one classroom. In this regard, we will be able to provide several implications about teaching methods utilizing smart device and Internet in future classroom.
