  • This paper investigates the quality determinants in the consulting service for small and medium sized company. The results of the analysis show that the quality dimension is composed of two factors, consulting skills and interaction, and consulting skills are composed of understanding, expertise, and reliability. Also, this paper examines how the quality factors affect customer satisfaction and loyalty using a structural equation model. The result shows that all consulting skills affect customer satisfaction and customer satisfaction affects customer loyalty. The consulting results have an effect on customer satisfaction but have no direct influence on customer loyalty.

Second, these index elements are composed of 2 indexes-the ability of technology R&D, the efficient strategy of market penetration and six index elements explain 46% of the total variance. This explainable power of these indexed is similar to that of the existing 16 index elements. Finally, we find that the most important success factor of IT small and medium sized manufacturing firms are the ability of technology R&D and the efficient strategy of market penetration.

  • The internet-based electronic commerce is considered as a new strategic alternative to boost competitiveness for small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs). However, very little research about them has been reported. Meanwhile, the cyber shopping shops in Korea are growing rapidly in their numbers, scales, and diversity of business models. The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the factors influencing outsourcing decisions in the implementation of small and medium-sized cyber shopping shops. Based on the previous studies on IS outsourcing, marketing channel, and their related theories, three areas of determinants(IT & organizational, product, marketing channel characteristics) were identified. Responses of 125 cyber shopping shops from e-mail survey indicate that IT capability, technical specificity of shop implementation, degree of product customization, average amount of order, marketing capability are negatively associated with outsourcing of cyber shopping shop implementation. The results also indicate that the outsourcing decision on systems implementation and marketing channel selection(direct/indirect selling) is performed separately.

  • This study describes the structure of the capital markets for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startup companies in Korea, which is an emerging market that has experienced drastic changes. The overall capital market can be divided into private and public capital markets. In the private capital market, most of the demand for capital comes from non-listed private firms, including startups and SMEs. In the case of SMEs and startups, the KOSDAQ, the Korea New Exchange (KONEX), and primary collateralized bond obligations (P-CBOs) are part of the public capital market. SMEs and startups are generally incapable of raising sufficient capital owing to their low credit ratings, and they largely have limited access to primary markets to issue shares and borrow money. The Korean government has developed a systematic financial aid program to provide funds to these companies. The fund for SMEs has significantly contributed to the development of the venture capital market. Many Korean banks provide substantial lending to SMEs, but this lending is available only because of the Korean government's loan recovery guarantee. Furthermore, SMEs can issue corporate debt in the form of primary collateralized bond obligations through government guarantees, but such debt issuances have placed increasing pressure on public guarantee institutions.

Nonetheless, the productivity and the competitiveness enjoyed by such firms vary depending on the size or the organizations, context of the country; developing or developed, and what kinds of technologies are adopted. This investigation focused on small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of Eastern province of Sri Lanka where such studies are scanty. The adoption of social media (SM) by SMEs is inclined to change how organizations operate, this calls for an investigation of the elements that impact SMEs to adopt SM and such investigation. Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework was based to understand the factors. Research approach was quantitative approach using questionnaire survey. Data were collected using online form to see 285 valid responses. Structural Equation Modelling was deployed to evaluate the proposed model. Results revealed that Relative Advantage, Compatibility, Complexity, Observability, Competitive Intensity, Bandwagon Pressure, and Competitive Pressure were influencing, while Trialability, Top Management Support, CEO's Innovativeness did not show statistically significant influence on SMEs' social media adoption.
