An Integrated System of Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health, and Safety for Small Agricultural Companies

  • Objective: The objective of this study is to analyze standards of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, KOSHA 18001, GAP and ISO 22000 to make an integrated system and check whether an integrated system can be used at small size companies. Background: There are many certification criteria for quality, safety and health such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, KOSHA 18001, GAP and ISO 22000. However, these criteria are difficult and complicated to be used at a small size company. Thus. it is not easy for small size companies to obtain certifications using these criteria. But customers and workers of small size companies want the key points of these systems to be implemented. Method: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, KOSHA 18001, GAP and ISO 22000 were analyzed to find the commonality and duplications as well as the importance of the items in these standards. And a survey was conducted to check whether certain aspects of the anticipated integrated system can be implemented at small size companies. Results: Items were classified into categories based upon the importance to food safety, quality, safety, environment, and health. Items which are common among standards were also identified and thus give ideas to make the new standards simpler than the currently available standards. Items which were important but may not be easily implemented at the small size companies were also identified. Conclusion: By considering the fact that the currently used accreditation standards have many similar aspects, these systems can be integrated into one new system which small size companies can use relatively easily.

  • The importance of the evaluation and verification of small-size cogeneration system has been emphasized because there is no KS-code related to the small-size cogeneration system. The evaluation method of small-size engine cogeneration system was investigated by the reference of Japan evaluation code, JIS B-8122 and international standard organization, ISO-8528. Evaluation method was introduced such as start-test, rapid-load-up and rapid-load-down, etc. The evaluation method was applied to the 300kW small-size gas engine cogeneration system newly developed. The precise and strict evaluation and verification of the system will help the developing cogeneration system to optimum condition. It will also be a base document of KS-Code.

  • Korean Government has carried out various support policies for small and midium size enterprises(SMEs). However, effect of the policy might not be realized in short term or the policy has turned out in fail. We found out the time of support is also important. Thus we propose that government should figure out the proper time to support funds according to the companies status(Technology, Production, Marketing) based on System Thinking.

  • Economic Lot size decision is studied on this thesis foe the muti-product small batch production system. Even though economic lot size decision has been studied for the MRP system. this could be applied at the industry under the multi-product small batch production system because of very complicate and manager's lack of understand. Therefore, this technique is applied at the industry in order to minimize ordering cosy based on optimal quantity and period, and holding cost according to optimize inventory level under the muti-product small batch production system. A Study on Attitude Heading Reference System Based Micro Machined Electro Mechanical System for Small Military Unmanned Underwater Vehicle

  • Generally, underwater unmanned vehicle have adopted an inertial navigation system (INS), dead reckoning (DR), acoustic navigation and geophysical navigation techniques as the navigation method because GPS does not work in deep underwater environment. Even if the tactical inertial sensor can provide very detail measurement during long operation time, it is not suitable to use the tactical inertial sensor for small size and low cost UUV because the tactical inertial sensor is expensive and large. One alternative to INS is attitude heading reference system (AHRS) with the micro-machined electro mechanical system (MEMS) inertial sensor because of MEMS inertial sensor's small size and low power requirement. A cost effective and small size attitude heading reference system (AHRS) which incorporates measurements from 3-axis micro-machined electro mechanical system (MEMS) gyroscopes, accelerometers, and 3-axis magnetometers has been developed to provide a complete attitude solution for UUV. The AHRS based MEMS overcome many problems that have inhibited the adoption of inertial system for small UUV such as cost, size and power consumption. Several evaluation experiments were carried out for the validation of the developed AHRS's function and these experiments results are presented. Experiments results prove the fact that the developed MEMS AHRS satisfied the required specification.

  • The importance of the evaluation and verification of small-size cogeneration system has been emphasized because there is no KS-code related to the small-size cogeneration system. The evaluation method of small-size engine cogeneration system, regarding Japanese standard JIS B-8122 and international standard organization, ISO-8528, was applied to the system. The evaluation methods, start-test, rapid-load-up and rapid-load-down, etc. were executed at the system, and reasonable results were acquired. The electrical and thermal efficiencies were executed and analyzed at various load conditions. The NOx emission at various load condition was also measured. Finally, the gas engine cogeneration system was installed to a site for actual usage and it was continually operated during more than 6 months as the site condition.

중소기업에서의 내부마케팅과 구성원들의 점진적 혁신의 관계에 대한 연구 (The relationship between internal marketing and incremental innovation in small business)

  • This paper reviewed the relationship between internal marketing and incremental innovation, and the moderating effect of firm size. The results of hierarchical multiple regression analysis, based on the responses from 322 employees in small business, showed that almost internal marketing factors effects positively on incremental innovation. All internal marketing factors(CEO support, compensation system, education & training, internal communication, authority delegation) appeared to be related positively with process innovation and service innovation. And all other factors(compensation system, education & training, internal communication, authority delegation) except CEO support showed to have positive relationship with operation innovation. In the moderating effects, internal communication effects more positively on incremental innovation in large firm-size than in small firm-size. But delegation effects more positively on incremental innovation in small firm-size than in large firm-size.

  • Nowadays, many commercial ERP products, such as Oracle, SAP, and Baan, etc, are designed based on large-scaled companies. It is difficult for small and medium-size companies with weakness in budgets and resources(e.g., human, organization, technique, and so on) to use them as it was. So, new ERP system need to be provided for small and medium-size companies. In this paper, we model and provide a conceptual ERP model for small and medium-size companies by using "4+1 View" architecture model of Unified Modeling Language(UML). The conceptual ERP model consists of five subsystems: Manufacturing, Sales, HumanResource and Payroll, Accounting, and Trading. Especially, we describe the conceptual ERP model focusing on "Manufacturing" subsystem by using several diagrams of UML. By using the conceptual ERP model, the ERP system′s developers of small and medium-size companies can obtain many benefits: improving the efficiency of software developing process and helping user requirements gathering and description of ERP system′s nonfunctional aspect as well as functional aspect.

  • The runner system of the injection mould and the injection volume of the injection molding process greatly affect the quality of the produced part. The goal of this paper is the design of the runner system and the prediction of the injection volume for the injection moulding of a housing part of small-size air cleaner to improve the formability through the three-dimensional injection moulding analysis. The effects of the runner system of the mould on the injection moulding characteristics are investigated. From the results of the investigation, a proper design of the runner system with uniform filling characteristics and the minimized defect formation is obtained. In addition, the influence of the moving distance of the screw on filling characteristics, weldline formation and deformation characteristics is examined. From the results of the examination, an appropriate moving distance of the screw for the housing part of small-size air cleaner is estimated.
