EPCglobal Gen 2 Tag Identification Performance Analysis Modifying the C model in the Q Algorithm (EPCglobal Gen 2 Q 알고리즘에서 C 모델에 따른 태그 인식 성능 평가)

  • This paper first proposes diverse C determining models in the Q algorithm which is proposed in the EPCglobal C1 Gen 2 standard and then compares and analyzes its performance. EPCglobal C1 Gen 2 standard proposes the slot-count (Q) selection algorithm for multiple tag identification environment, but there is no such definition for the C value which modifies the Q value depending on collision or no reply. During the tag anti-collision process, the Q algorithm adds C to the Q when there is a collision and reduces the Q by C when there is no reply. The modified Q value updates new slot-counts for tags which determines the tag identification speed, so the C value is an important factor. However, many researches only intend to increase the tag identification speed by proposing a new method or modifying the Q algorithm without any research about the C value. This paper suggests diverse C models which satisfies the EPCglobal C1 Gen 2 and analyzes their performance in the multi tag identification environment. The result of this paper can be used as an index for future researches on EPCglobal C1 Gen 2 C models and multiple tag identification performance.

  • This paper presents a mathematical formulation for container slot chartering model through strategic alliance between liner shipping companies. This paper develops a solution procedure to apply the model to real world problems and its applicability is demonstrated by a numerical example. The model presented in this paper has some important features which have never been considered in the previous researches. The model is linear model and pursuits profit maximization. And also it considers slot chartering capacity selection. This paper attempts to perform sensitivity analysis and compares slot chartering model with basic non-collaborating model in which there is no alliance and collaboration. As a result of sensitivity analysis, some interesting findings are obtained; Even though freight rate is more and more decreasing, the profit by slot chartering model is always higher than the basic model but the profit gaps become smaller. But The ratio of the profit gap to the profit of basic model is more increasing.

  • Anther is the major organ of flower in responsible to reproduction and outward appearance. From anther-specific cDNA library of Lilium Oriental Hybrid 'Acapulco', 2000 expressed sequence tags were selected randomly. Differential slot blot analysis with cDNA probes from the anther and leaf was used to get anther-expressed clone and 570 non-redundant ESTs were obtained and sequenced. Compared to the GenBank database using BLASTX algorithm, 191 clones showed significant similarity but others (66.5%) did not measured to known sequence. Functional categories according to gene ontology (GO) annotation included sequence representing a significant portion of protein in cell and cell part respectively. A transcriptional analysis at 7 different organs and developmental stage was performed using northern blot with thirty ESTs as putative anther specific gene. This report suggest that selection of anther expressed clone using differential slot blot was considered as very effective tool and our current study can provide fundamental information on the lily anther including pollen furthermore.

  • The WiMedia Alliance has specified a Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC) protocol based on UWB for high speed wireless home networks and WPANs. In this paper, firstly, a time slot reservation protocol for relay transmission is proposed. Furthermore, we propose a novel relay node selection algorithm adaptive to current UWB link transmission rate. The proposed relay node selection algorithm has compatibility with current WiMedia D-MAC standard and is executed at each device according to the SoQ as a QoS criterion.

  • Testing of mixed-signal circuit has become a difficult task for test engineers and efficient test solution to these problems are needed. In this paper a new specification-based mixed-signal test method called TSS(Time Slot Specification) using high performance current sensors and a novel test point selection technique without heavy computational overhead are proposed. External output and power nodes are used for test points and accessed by the current sensors in the ATE.

  • One of the most important technical improvement required for ropeless elevator system to become practical is the improvements in overall system efficiency. Moreover, the predominant drawback of permanent magnet (PM) linear synchronous motor (LSM) is large detent force. Therefore, for the given volume the selection of high power density PM-LSM with low detent force is very imperative. In this paper, we will investigate the characteristics of thrust and detent force of PM-LSM under different motor topology structure. Finally, the long stator double-sided iron core type PM-LSM with fractional slot winding is the best choice for the ropeless elevator system.

  • This paper presents an output arbitrator for input buffering ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) switches using neural networks. To avoid blocking in ATM switches with blocking characteristics, it is required to buffer ATM cells in input buffer and to schedule them. The N$\times$N request matrix is divided into N/16 submatrices in order to get rid of internal blocking systematically in scheduling phase. The submatrices are grouped into N/4 groups, and the cells in each group are switched alternatively. As the window size of input buffer is increases, the number of input cells switched in a time slot approaches to N. The selection of nonblocking cells to be switched is done by neural network modules. N/4 neural network modules are operated simultaneously. Fast selection can be achieved by massive parallelism of neural networks. The neural networks have 4N neurons and 14N connection. The proposed method is implemented in C language, and the simulation result confirms the feasibility of this method.

  • This paper deals with an approach for the initial design of a permanent magnet motor for turrets with large diameters. The proposed design techniques are introduced as three stages. The first is the selection of a pole-slot combination, the second is the selection of the rotor topology, and the last is choosing the outermost dimensions. In every stage, a useful technique is described with considerations for effective fabrication and motor performance, and magnetic field computation is performed using the finite element method.

Energy-efficient Buffer-aided Optimal Relay Selection Scheme with Power Adaptation and Inter-relay Interference Cancellation

  • Considering the tradeoff between energy consumption and outage behavior in buffer-aided relay selection, a novel energy-efficient buffer-aided optimal relay selection scheme with power adaptation and Inter-Relay Interference (IRI) cancellation is proposed. In the proposed scheme, energy consumption minimization is the objective with the consideration of relay buffer state, outage probability and relay power control, in order to eliminate IRI. The proposed scheme selects a pair of optimal relays from multiple candidate relays, denoted as optimal receive relay and optimal transmit relay respectively. Source-relay and relay-destination communications can be performed within a time-slot, which performs as Full-Duplex (FD) relaying. Markov chain model is applied to analyze the evolution of relay buffer states. System steady state outage probability and achievable diversity order are derived respectively. In addition, packet transmission delay and power reduction performance are investigated with a specific analysis. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme outperforms other relay selection schemes in terms of outage behavior with power adaptation and IRI cancellation in the same relay number and buffer size scenario. Compared with Buffer State relay selection method, the proposed scheme reduces transmission delay significantly with the same amount of relays. Average transmit power reduction can be implemented to relays with the increasing of relay number and buffer size, which realizes the tradeoff between energy-efficiency, outage behavior and delay performance in green cooperative communications.

  • GOCI(Geostationary Ocean Color Imager) is the core paryload of the geostationary satellite COMS(Communication, Ocean and Meteological Satellite) for ocean monitoring. It is scheduled to be launched at the end of 2008. GOCI observes ocean color around the Korean Peninsula over $2500km{\times}2500km$ area. Whole field of view is divided into 16 solts and scan mechanism enables to point each slot position. Tilted two-axis scan method is used to observe entire field of view with great pointing stability. Vignetting of the optical system appears when the partial obscuration by intermediate optical components occurs. It leads to the variation of the illumination in the image and gradual fading near the edge of the field. It should be prohibited for the stable radiometric performances. In this work, vignetting analysis of GOCI optical system is performed. For the systematic approach, GOCI optical system is divided into scan mechanism part and telescope part. Vignetting analysis of each part is performed and each result is combined for the overall vignetting performances. The analyzed results can be applied to the selection of slot acquisition angle of scan mechanism to minimize vignetting effects.
