Grain Size Dependence of Ionic Conductivity of Polycrystalline Doped Ceria

  • Conductivities of polycrystalline ceria doped with several rare earth oxides were measured by AC admittance and DC four probe method. The conductions were separated into grain and grain boundary contributions using the complex admittance technique as well as grain size dependence of conductivity. The grain size dependence of polycrystalline conductivity, which can be adequately described by the so-called brick layer model, appears to give a more reliable measure of the grain conductivity compared to the complex admittance method. Polycrystalline resistivity(1/conductivity) increases linearly with the reciprocal of grain size. The intercept of resistivity vs. inverse grain size plot gives a measure of the grain resistivity and the slope gives a measure of the grain boundary resistivity. It was also noted that errors involved in the analysis of experimental data may be different between the complex admittance method and the impedance method. A greater resolution of the spectra was found in the complex admittance method, insofar as the present work is concerned, suggesting that the commonly used equivalent circuit may require re-evaluation.

투수층에 적용 가능한 흐름함수방식의 확장형 완경사방정식의 개발 (Development of Complementary Mild-slope Equation for Stream Function Over Permeable Bed)

  • 본 연구에서는 유한한 깊이의 투수층에 의한 파랑 감쇠 현상을 흐름함수에 대한 확장형 완경사방정식을 사용하여 해석하였다. 에너지 감쇠율을 흐름함수에 대한 완경사방정식에 고려할 수 있도록 감쇠항을 제시하였다. 수치실험 시 계산영역에서 반사된 파가 경계에서 재반사되는 문제를 극복하기 위해서, 델타함수 형태의 원천함수를 유도하여 계산영역 내에서 조파하였다. 경사면 위의 파랑의 반사율 측정 실험을 다양한 주기에 대해서 수행하였다. 투수성이 있는 수중둔덕에 대해서, 수치실험 결과는 해석해인 적분방정식의 결과와 대체로 잘 일치하였다. 그러나, 투수계수가 크고 파장이 길수록 본 연구의 결과가 상대적으로 높은 투과율을 보였다.

황령산 사면 계측관리 분석에 관한 연구 (Study on Analysis for the Slope Monitoring Performance at the Whangryeong Mountain Site)

  • 1999년 부산광역시에서 발생한 황령산 산사태는 평면파괴 형태였다 그 후, 황령산 절개사면은 재시공 되었으며 최종 구배는 1:2.0이었다. 수평변위, 간극수압 및 축력을 측정하기위하여 공사중인 2000년 8월부터 2002년 2월까지 파괴사면에 대한 계측이 실시되었다. 계측결과를 종합 고려하면, 강우량에 비례해서 간극수압이 증가되지만 강우 후 지반의 압력수두가 신속히 감소하여, 지표에서 유입된 강우가 사면을 따라 신속히 배출되는 것으로 사료된다. 또한, 경사계 및 하중계 계측자료의 분석결과, 지반의 거동은 거의 없으므로, 사면도 안정된 것으로 사료된다. 특히 본 연구지역과 같이 강우와 관련된 산사태 지역의 경우 자동화 계측을 통해서 간극수압의 신속한 증감을 알 수 있었으며, 추후 이러한 주요 시설 사면에서 자동화 방식에 의한 계측관리가 사면의 안정성을 판단하는데 더욱 효과적일 것으로 사료된다.

암반 발파시험을 통한 지중변위센서의 적용성 연구 (A Study on the Application of Ground Displacement Sensor by Rock Blasting Test)

  • 본 연구에서는 사면 붕괴 위험을 사전에 신속히 감지하고 정확한 판단으로 예·경보를 발령할 수 있는 비교적 저렴하고 효율적인 사면 붕괴 예측 시스템을 개발하기 위하여 암반 발파시험을 통한 지중변위센서의 적용성을 고찰하였다. 발파실험에서 발파원과 가까운 곳에 위치한 센서가 발파에 따른 암반 내부 파쇄로 인해 큰 변위값을 나타내고 발파원과 떨어진 곳에 위치한 센서는 비교적 작은 변형량을 나타냈으나 계측기의 위치보다는 암반 불연속면의 분포 양상과 발파로 인한 사면 내부의 암반의 거동이 보다 더 지중변위센서에서 계측되는 변위값에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 유선 및 무선 type의 지중변위센서 시스템은 암반사면 거동 계측에 활용 가능한 시스템임을 확인하였으며, 사면 붕괴 예측용 조기경보 시스템 구축에 필요한 기초 자료로서 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • Kim(2002)은 축점의 위치가 두 개의 수에 의하여 정해지는 제2종의 중심합성계획을 제시하고 이를 CCD2라 불렀다. 본 논문에서는 CCD2를 더욱 연구하여 몇 가지의 새로운 사실을 밝혔다. 직교성과 회전성, 직교성과 기울기회전성, 회전성과 균등정밀성을 동시에 갖는 CCD2들을 구하였으며, Park과 Kim(1992)이 제시한 기울기회전성의 측도를 이러한 CCD2들에 적용하여 그 결과를 관찰하였다.

Estimation of saturated hydraulic conductivity of Korean weathered granite soils using a regression analysis

  • Saturated soil hydraulic conductivity is a very important soil parameter in numerous practical engineering applications, especially rainfall infiltration and slope stability problems. This parameter is difficult to measure since it is very highly sensitive to various soil conditions. There have been many analytical and empirical formulas to predict saturated soil hydraulic conductivity based on experimental data. However, there have been few studies to investigate in-situ hydraulic conductivity of weathered granite soils, which constitute the majority of soil slopes in Korea. This paper introduces an estimation method to derive saturated hydraulic conductivity of Korean weathered granite soils using in-situ experimental data which were obtained from a variety of slope areas of South Korea. A robust regression analysis was performed using different physical soil properties and an empirical solution with an $R^2$ value of 0.9193 was suggested. Besides that this research validated the proposed model by conducting in-situ saturated soil hydraulic conductivity tests in two slope areas.

사면방재를 위한 무선센서 네트워크 기술연구 (Landslide Detection using Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • Recently, landslides have frequently occurred on natural slopes during periods of intense rainfall. With a rapidly increasing population on or near steep terrain in Korea, landslides have become one of the most significant natural hazards. Thus, it is necessary to protect people from landslides and to minimize the damage of houses, roads and other facilities. To accomplish this goal, many landslide prediction methods have been developed in the world. In this study, a simple landslide prediction system that enables people to escape the endangered area is introduced. The system is focused to debris flows which happen frequently during periods of intense rainfall. The system is based on the wireless sensor network (WSN) that is composed of sensor nodes, gateway, and server system. Sensor nodes comprising a sensing part and a communication part are developed to detect ground movement. Sensing part is designed to measure inclination angle and acceleration accurately, and communication part is deployed with Bluetooth (IEEE 802.15.1) module to transmit the data to the gateway. To verify the feasibility of this landslide prediction system, a series of experimental studies was performed at a small-scale earth slope equipped with an artificial rainfall dropping device. It is found that sensing nodes installed at slope can detect the ground motion when the slope starts to move. It is expected that the landslide prediction system by wireless senor network can provide early warnings when landslides such as debris flow occurs.

리플저감을 위한 Chebyshev 필터 조합에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Cascading Chebyshev Filter for Ripple Cancellation)

  • This paper is focusing on the comparison of different kinds of BPFs(Band Pass Filters) passing signals with a particular frequency band. According to the different classifications, features and target application systems, BPF has many types. Chebyshev filter which has a steep slope and a few ripples, and Butterworth filter which has no ripple but gentle slope are the most typical BPFs. The ideal filter is flat in the passband and the slope in the transition band is perpendicular. In this paper, we suggest the cascading Chebyshev BPF with the advantages of the Chebyshev filter and the Butterworth filter simultaneously to make a closest filter to an ideal filter. The proposing BPF is the tenth Chebyshev BPF cascading the fourth and the sixth, and it is designed as the tenth cascading Chebyshev BPF. To measure the performance of the designing filter, we have compared and analyzed the tenth Chebyshev filter with the tenth Butterworth filter. As a result, the tenth cascading Chebyshev BPF has decreased the ripple more than 1/4 [dB] in the passband. Finally, the output of the simulation showed the validity of the proposing cascading Chebyshev filter.

집광 열유속 측정과 모델링의 비교를 통한 집광 오차 평가 (Concentration Error Assessment by Comparison of Solar Flux Measurement and Modeling)

  • Concentration errors critically affect the performance of solar concentrator, so their evaluation is important to the concentrated solar power technology. However, the evaluation is very challenging because error sources are various and not easy to measure individually. Therefore, the integrated effect of concentration errors is often more interesting and useful for large-scale applications. In the present work, we analytically investigate and classify various concentration error sources and then explain that the effect of various concentration errors can be represented in terms of a root mean square value of reflector surface slope error. We present an indirect approach to assessing the reflector surface slope error by comparing solar flux measurement data with modeling calculations. We apply the approach for solar furnaces with different thermal capacity and investigate its advantages and disadvantages.

  • To minimize damages caused by landslides due to severe rain falls and storms during the rainy season every year, it is necessary to carry out research to monitor the symptoms of landslide in advance and prevent them. If proper actions ate taken in advance by monitoring the symptoms of landslide, personal and property damages caused by landslides can be prevented or minimized. This study tries to measure the movement of model slopes after causing displacement to each model slope using no prism Total Station and examine the applicability of Total Station by displacement through the analysis of the data.
