  • In this paper, we proposed vertical feeding mechanism for a slide parts feeder using the slide type method. This parts feeder of the slide type method have been proposed to suppress the dust generation from the feeding objects. The proposed parts feeder mechanism is composed with the casing hopper, the vertical feeding unit, the in-line feeder and linear shooter unit. And, these mechanisms did modularity through optimum design by means of mechanical and dynamical analysis using the RecurDyn(multi-body dynamics) analysis module. Also were carried out the virtual prototype using the 3-D CAD program. And it had been manufactured as the prototype of the slide parts feeder. The field test for validation of performance was performed directly at the inspection line of bolt and screw. In the field test, this slide parts feeder showed an efficiency of about 1.2 times the bowl feeder. It also showed an epoch reduction in the dust generation compared to the vibration bowl feeder. So this slide parts feeder will be applied useful in the vision inspection system for a screw and bolt.

  • Bathythermograph (B. T) has been coumonly used to obtain a records of water temperature in the depth of 270m from the surface. We have, however, experienced some difficulties in obtaining smoked or coated glass which is used for the bathythermograph in this region, Therefore I introduce a easy method of preparing the smoked-glass slide. Preparing method is as follows. 1. Glass slides must be cleaned by dipping into the concentrated solution of sodium hydroxide ana hydrochloric acid then rinsing with hot water and polishing with a clean gauge. 2. The cleaned slide is immersed in the wax solution for coating, and dried on the filter paper. The Wax solution is prepared as follow : 1g of white wax is dissolved in 200CC of benzol or 1g of lard is dissolved in 300CC of gasoline. 3. A slide held in a fingertip is smoked on the flame of alcohol lamp, or Meter burner. When alcohol lamp is used the fuel alcohol must contain 1/5 of benzol, and when Meker burner is used, the air intake must be blocked up. The smoking on the glass slide should be light and uniform, after smoking the slide is cooled down. 4. The smoked glass slide is again dipped into the wax solution using a fingertip and the excessive wax solution on the slide is absorbed on the filter paper and drain off. 5. Thus prepared smoked slide can be used for B.T.

  • Rational dynamic modeling and analysis method f3r complex structures are studied with special attention to slide way joints. For modeling of slide way joints, a general modeling technique is used by using the influence coefficients method which is applied to the conversion of detailed finite element model to the equivalent reduced joint model. The theoretical part of this method is illustrated and the method is applied to the structure with slide way joint. In this method, the non-linearity of the contact surfaces is considered within a proper range and the boundary effect of the joint model could be eliminated. The proposed method was applied to finite element modal analysis of a clamp jointed cantilever beam and slide way joints of the vertical type lathe. The method can also be used to other kinds of joint modeling. The results of these analysis were compared with those of Yoshimura models and rigid joint models, which demonstrated the practical applicability of the proposed method.

  • It is an interest problem to predict substance distributions in three-dimensional space. Recently, a research field as Geostatistics is advanced. It is a kind of inter- or extrapolation mathematically. Some useful means for the inter- and extrapolation are known, in which slide window method with neural networks is hopeful one. We propose multi-dimensional extrapolation using multi-layer neural networks and the slide-window method. The multi-dimensional extrapolation is not similar to one-dimension. It has plural algorithms. We researched line predictors and local-plain predictors I two-dimensional space. The both predictors are equivalent; however, in multi-dimensional extrapolation, it is very important to find the direction of predictions. Especially, since the slide window method requires information to predict the future in sampling data, if they are not ordered appropriately in the direction, the predictor cannot operate. We tested the extrapolation for typical two-dimensional functions, and found an excellent character of slide-window method based on local-plain. By using the method, we can extrapolate the function until twice-outer regions of the definitions.

  • Koji is steamed rice that has had koji-kin, or koji mold spores, cultivated onto it. The isolation, culture, and microscopic examination of molds in the koji require the use of the selective media and special microscopic slide techniques. If simple wet mount slides of molds were attempted, it became apparent that wet mount slides made from mold colonies usually don't reveal the arrangement of spores that is so necessary in identification. The process of merely transferring hyphae to a slide breaks up the hyphae and sporangiophores in such a way that identification becomes very difficult. The slide culture method is superior to wet mounts in that the hyphae, sporangiophores, and spores remain more or less intact when transferred. The procedure that will be used to produce a mold culture on a slide that can be observed directly on the slide. We investigated the contamination rate of penicillium spp. on the 21 kinds of koji distributed at Korea. The contamination rate of Penicillium spp. were not detected at 21 products by slide culture method. These results will be used to reestablish a mold determination of koji and food in Food Additives Code.

  • Despite of many supportive research to the usefulness of slide evaluation on environment of outdoor lighting, study method of using slides have provoked many discussions of its manifestation of reality of field conditions. This study aims to compare the results of slide survey with that of field survey. Distant view and short range view of nightscape of Seoul were selected. Field measurement of luminance and chromaticity were conducted and questionnaire survey were conducted. Frequency analysis, T-test, factor analysis were conducted. Results shows that distant view and short range view of field survey have better visual atmosphere than slide survey. In addition, slide survey on distant view shows lowest values. Difference between field survey and slide survey on distant view is much bigger than the results of short range view.

  • Machine tool design concepts have evolved towards high efficiency, accurate precision. high structural integrity, and multi-functional systems. Like many other structures, machine tools are also composed of many parts. When these parts are assembled, many kinds of joints are used. In the finite element analysis of these assembled structures, most joints are commonly considered as rigid joints. But, to get the more accurate solution, we need to model these joints in a appropriate manner. In this study, rational dynamic modeling and analysis method for complex structures are studied with special attention to slide way joints. For modeling of slide way joints, a general modeling technique is used by influence coefficients method which is applied to the conversion of detailed finite element model to the equivalent reduced joint model. • This study was conducted to select low toxic insecticides against natural enemies, and to evaluate resistance stability and cross-resistance to resistance strain for the fulfillment of integrated pest management development. Toxicity of imidacloprid and spinosad to Amblyseius cucumeris was relatively low regardless of the adopting test methods. In addition, those to the Amblyseius fallacis was also low by slide dipping method. The slide dipping method was useful to eliminate repellency effect by mites to the tested insecticides. Mortality of A. fallacis to deltamethrin recorded in 1994 and 1999 was 21.6% and 7.4%, respectively. Meanwhile, the permethrin-resistanct strain of A. fallacis was maintained its resistance to deltamethrin. However, the cross-resistance to the newly introduced insecticides namely imidacloprid, fipronil, chlorfenapyr, abamectin, and spinosad. was relatively low.
