여성의 수면습관 및 식습관과 지각된 피부건강 간의 관계 (The Relationship between Sleep Pattern, Eating Habit, and the Perceived Skin Health among Female Adults)

  • Objectives: The researchers investigated the relationship between sleep pattern (circadian rhythm/sleep deprivation), eating habit, and the perceived skin condition of female adults, in orders to provide valuable information to women who want to maintain healthy skin and professionals in health promotion. Methods: The participants were 297 female adults whose ages ranged from 20 to 60 (M=35.14, SD=10.37). The questionnaires and psychological tests used in this research included the following: Circadian Rhythm Questionnaire, Sleep Deprivation Scale, Eating Habit Questionnaire, Skin Condition Questionnaire, Scale for Perceived Skin Health. Results: Results indicated that evening type women had more fatty skin and felt their skins less healthier than morning type. Although women who did not deprived their sleep had more fatty and sensitive skin and felt their skins less healthier than women who deprived their sleep, sleep deprivation was positively related to the morningness, and the morningness was negatively related to the preference of fatty and spicy foods. Only the preference of fatty foods among eating habit was positively related to the fatty and sensitive skin, and negatively to the perceived skin health. Regression analyses with circadian rhythm and the preference of fatty foods revealed that only circadian rhythm was significant predictor for the fatty skin, while the preference of fatty foods was only significant predictor for the sensitive skin and the perceived skin health. And, circadian rhythm and the preference of fatty foods accounted for around 12.0% variance of the fatty skin. Conclusion: This study reiterates the roles of fatty foods on skin health, and found the role of circadian rhythm on skin health, and it is needed to explore the relationship between sleep deprivation and skin condition further. These results may provide useful information for health practitioners.

여자 대학생의 수면습관이 감각운동리듬 뇌파에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Sleep Habits on EEG Sensory Motor Rhythm in Female College Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 수면장애가 뇌파(EEG)의 beta파와 감각운동리듬(sensory motor rhythm)에 미치는 영향을 규명하는 것이다. 여자 대학생을 대상으로 하여 수면습관에 따라서 다음과 같이 네 군(n=6)으로 나누었다. 즉, 좋은 수면습관을 가진 GSHG (Good sleep habit group), 일반적으로 대학생들이 늦게 취침하는 수면 습관을 갖고 있기 때문에 오전 0~2시에 취침하는 CSHG (Common sleep habit group), 수면위상지연증후군으로 자신의 수면 장애를 인식하고 있는 CSDG (Cognitive sleep disorder with delayed sleep phase syndrome group), 수면장애를 인식하지 못하는 NSDG (Non-cognitive sleep disorder with delayed sleep phase syndrome group)으로 나누었다. 뇌파는 QEEG 8-System을 사용하여 오전 9~12시 사이에 측정하였다. 책읽기 자극시에 뇌파를 측정하여 안정시 기준치와 비교 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 책읽기 자극시 beta파와 감각운동리듬 상대파워는 GSHG가 다른 세군에 비하여 유의적으로 높았다($p$ <0.05). 책읽기 자극시 수치와 안정시 기준치를 대응 비교하여 볼 때에도, GSHG에서 beta 파워가 대뇌피질의 모든 부위에서 유의적으로 증가하였다($p$ <0.05). 그러나 CSHG에서는 전두부와 측두부에서 beta 파워가 감소하였다($p$ <0.05). 한편 CSDG와 NSDG에서는 책읽기 자극에 의하여 beta 파워의 유의적인 변화가 발생하지 않았다. 감각운동리듬 상대파워는 GSHG에서만 책읽기 자극에 의하여 향상되었다. 결론적으로 여자 대학생에게 있어서 오전 0~2시경에 늦게 취침을 하면 다음날 오전에 집중력 뇌파인 beta파 기능이 현저히 감소하고, 수면습관이 나쁘면 자신의 수면장애에 대한 자가인식 유무와 관련 없이 beta파와 운동감각리듬에 대한 뇌기능이 활성화되지 않아서 집중력에 부정적인 영향을 준다.

수면-각성이행에 초점을 둔 소아 야뇨증 치험 2례 (A Case Study of Nocturnal Enuresis in Two Children by Focusing Sleep-wake Transition)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to report the case of nocturnal enuresis in two children treated by using hypothesis that awareness during sleep may improves symptoms. Methods Enuresis children usually are not even aware of nocturnal urea due to excessive sleep. During the sleep cycle, enuresis children do not tend to have sleep-wake transition period compared to normal children. Ephedrine, the main ingredient of Ephedra sinica (麻黃), has a wakening effect. Two pediatric patients, who were suffering from nocturnal enuresis, were administered by Tosatang-gamibang (菟絲湯加味方) added Ephedra sinica (麻黃) or Boatang-gamibang (補兒湯加味方) added Ephedra sinica (麻黃) while correcting unhealthy voiding habit. Results As a result of the treatment, two pediatric patients were recovered without relapse. Conclusions In this report, we have proven that Tosatang-gamibang (菟絲湯加味方) added Ephedra sinica (麻黃) or Boatang-gamibang (補兒湯加味方) added Ephedra sinica (麻黃) and correcting voiding habit can considerably be effective in recovering nocturnal enuresis.

여고생의 월경곤란증 실태 및 그 영향 요인 (Dysmenorrhea in High School Girls and Its influencing Factors)

  • 본 연구는 여고생의 월경곤란증의 실태를 파악하고 수면장애, 스트레스, 불안, 식습관, 월경곤란증의 정도 및 그들 변수 간의 관계와 월경곤란증에 미치는 영향 요인을 알아보고자 하는 서술적 조사연구이다. 대상자는 B광역시 소재 여고생을 대상으로 2020년 10월 12일~11월 6일 총 4주 동안 총 160부의 자료를 수집하였고 SPSS 21.0 Program을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 월경곤란증과 수면장애(r=.531, p<.001)와는 강한 순 상관관계를, 스트레스(r=.349, p<.001), 불안(r=.300, p=.003)과는 보통의 순 상관관계를, 식습관(r=-.205, p=.041)과는 약한 역 상관관계를 나타냈다. 월경곤란증에 미치는 영향 요인은 수면장애, 월경기간, 월경주기, 불안 순으로, 전체 설명력은 39.5%로 나타났다. 따라서, 여고생의 월경곤란증을 완화하기 위하여 수면의 질을 높이고 불안을 감소시킬 수 있는 방법과 월경기간 및 월경주기를 정상화 시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색 할 필요가 있다.

일부 중·고등학생 수면의 질 및 관련요인 (Related Factors of Sleep Quality among Some Middle and High School Students)

  • Objectives: This study was aimed to investigate the status of sleep quality and related factors among some middle and high school students in one metropolitan city, Korea. Methods: The subjects were 480 high school students and 350 middle school students. Survey questions are based on Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) to measure the quality of sleep and also include factors affecting the quality of sleep. PASW Statistics 20.0(Korean version) was used to carry out analysis. Results: Noise and stress showed the statistical significance as factors affecting the quality of sleep by multiple regression analysis. Individual characteristics was related to quality of sleep in only high school student. Conclusions: This study showed that noise and stress had a great correlation with the quality of sleep. Social consciousness and policies were needed to improve the quality of sleep for middle and high school student.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of physical activity, dietary habit, and academic stress, as well as the moderating effect of gender on the relationship between adolescents' quality of sleep and body mass index (BMI). Methods: The data were collected from 181 adolescents and analyzed using SPSS WIN 23.0. Bootstrapping analysis was performed to analyze the mediating and moderating effects. Results: First, there was non-significant mediating effect between the quality of sleep and BMI. Second, there was significant moderating effect between the quality of sleep and BMI. Conclusion: Sleep quality should be considered as a component of an intervention program for the prevention and management of obesity. It is also necessary to consider then gender when constructing such program.

유아기 수면문제, 실행기능 및 사회적 행동 간의 관계 (Relationships Among Sleep Problems, Executive Function and Social Behavior During the Preschool Period)

  • Objective: This study examined the relationships among sleep problems, executive function and social behavior during the preschool period. In addition, the mediating role of executive function between sleep problems and social behavior was investigated. Methods: A total of 304 preschool children participated in this study. The data were collected through maternal reports. Results: First, preschoolers' sleep problems were found to be significantly related to overt aggression and prosocial behavior. Second, preschoolers with sleep problems displayed lower levels of executive function. Third, preschoolers' executive function was significantly associated with social behavior. Lastly, preschoolers' executive function fully mediated the relationship between sleep problems and overt aggression, and between sleep problems and prosocial behavior. That is, preschoolers' sleep problems had effects on overt aggression and prosocial behavior, only through the effects on executive function. Conclusion: This study contributes to the sleep literature by examining the role of executive function and emphasizes the importance of forming a healthy sleep habit during the preschool period.

한국어판 아침-저녁형 질문지 및 수면습관과의 연관성에 대한 연구 (The monrningness-eveningness questionnaire in Korean version and Its relations with sleep-wake habits)

  • Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ) of Horne & Ostberg(1976) was translated into a Korean version, and MEQ and life habit inventory was administrated with approximately 900 university students. The distribution of MEQ score was normal. Arising time and bedtine for weekdays and holidays came in the order of morning type, intermediate and evening-type. And the deviation for the evening-type was greatest. Also, the deviation of sleep length for the evening-type was greater than the morning- type. There were tendencies that the bed time and arising time of the male were slightly later than those of the female, and the sleep length of the male was a little longer than that of the female. It also appeared that the arising time was later in the male who completed the military services than those who did not in the chronotype. And the sleep length of the non-served male was longer than that of the served one. Such tendencies noticeably appeared especially the evening-type. The evening-type was subject to heavy variability in bedtime. arising time, and sleep length. The sleep latency of the evening- type was longer and mood on arising was worse. And the ratio of nap or light sleep was higher in these subjects than in others. These results suggested that evening-type students had more irregular and/or flexible sleep-wake habits than the morning-type.

  • The etiology of the obstructive sleep apnea includes the various factors such as anatomical abnormality in upper airway, craniofacial structure, obesity and personal habit. To establish reasonable treatment plan, multi-department approach is should be emphasized because the treatment modality is depend on the result of analysis for degree & site of obstruction and various behavioral factors. In Sleep Clinic in Keimyung University Medical Center, the standard of care for sleep apnea patient was established according to the Standard of practice committee of Americal Sleep Disorders Association. After one year experience of comprehensive approach for sleep apnea we could achieve following recommendation for the treatment. 1) The multi-department examination and diagnosis could prevent unnessesary treatment because the treatment plan could be established under comprehensive discussion. 2) Determination of the site of obstruction is important for treatment planning. However, no single determinant could be found. We expect multi-department approach can reduce the mistake in detection of obstruction. 3) Further evaluation of treatmet outcome should be succeeded to establish Korean standard of care for sleep apnea treatment.

허약아의 수면 습관에 대한 연구 (A Study on Sleep Habits of Weak Children Groups)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to research on sleep habits of weak children groups using objective evaluation tools. Methods This study surveyed 108 children and adolescents of 4~10 years old who visited the department of Pediatrics of ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ Korean Medicine Hospital from June 19th, 2015 to August 28th, 2015. Weak Children Questionnaire and CSHQ (The Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire) were used to research on sleep habits of children. We analyzed the data by using PASW Statistics 18.0 with independent t-test. Results CSHQ Score of Weak Children Group was significantly higher than CSHQ Score of Normal Children Group (p<0.05). CSHQ Score ($Mean{\pm}SD$) of Normal Children Group was $52.92{\pm}5.72$ and CSHQ Score ($Mean{\pm}SD$) of Weak Children Group was $56.23{\pm}5.66$. Conclusions Weak Children Group had more sleep habit problems than Normal Children Group.
