The purpose of this study is to predict skincare behavior from the perspective of theories about planned behaviors and a systematic structure for identifying influences on human behavior; Consequently, this study attempted to undertake a concrete analysis of influences on skin care behavior. The results showed that: an attempt was made to analyze structural equation modeling as to whether or not to apply Ajzen's theory of planned behavior to skin care behavior. This study found the possibility that the theory of planned behavior might be applicabled to the research model composed of skin care attitude, the norms of skin care, behavioral control on skin care, behavioral intentions of skin care, and skin care behavior at the appropriate level in their entirety. This study found that external control factors of skin care behavior had the highest effect on skin care behavior among other factors.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships between variables related to skin health and skin health behavior of female university students in seoul, and to plan effective educational programs for skin health. 322 university women attending women's universities and 363 university women attending co-educational universities were selected to conduct a questionnaire survey; the total number of examines was 685, and the examination period was from October 23rd to November 6th, 2002. The study results are as follows; 1. The score distributions of skin health behavior were as follows; 8.7% of examniees got 20-40 points, 51.6% got 41-60 points, 36.7% got 61-80 points, 0.4% got 81-100 points. The maximum score was 100 points; the lowest score was 22 points and the highest score was 97 points, the average score was 56.9 points. 2. The general characters were as follows; the older subjects were and the higher subjects income levels were : the higher their scores of skin health behavior were. Scores of skin health behavior of students who temporarily stay out of school were higher than those who were enrolled full time. Scores of skin health behavior of university women attending women's universities were higher than those of university women attending co-educational universities. The greater subjects were satisfied with their appearances, the better their health states were, the more subjects were concerned about health problems, the higher their health states were, the more subjects were concerned about health problems, the higher their scores of skin health behavior were. 3. Characters related to skin were as follows; the better subjects skin conditions were, the higher their scores of skin health behavior were. Scores of skin health behavior of university women whose skin types were 'sensitive' were higher than those of university women whose skin was "not sensitive". Scores of skin health behavior of university women who worry about their skin wrinkles or skin color were higher than those of university women who have different kinds of skin troubles. Scores of skin health behavior of university women who get skin-relate information through dermatology clinics or beauty salonspecialists in this area were higher than those of university women who get the information through other sources. Scores of skin health behavior of university women who have experienced adverse effects of beauty products were higher than those of university women who have not experienced adverse effects of beauty products. 4. The relationships between variables related with skin health and skin health behavior were as follow; Skin states, health status and health concerns all had statistically significant correlation with skin health behavior.
The objective of this study consists on clarifying what factors are influenced upon skin care behavior using fender's Health Promotion Model, widely used to anticipate practices of health care behavior for women with keen interest in skin care and then manifesting their correlations from July 1 to August 22, 1998, on 159 women interested in skin care. A subvariable included practice of skin care behavior and independent variables include general characteristics, health fitness, the level of agreement with the advantages of the perceived skin care behavior, the level of cognition of the necessity for skin care behavior The data collected processed with ANOVA and multiple regression analysis to clarify what factors among other independent variables have the most powerful effects upon skin care. The resultant findings were revealed, as follows : 1. In health care behavior among skin care behavior,'full ingestion of water' represented the highest value by 3.45 points, 2. The testees of this study had for the most part a higher level of cognition for the necessity for skin care behavior than for practice of skin care behavior. The more points they have for cognition of the necessity for skin care behavior, the more points they present for practice of skin care behavior. 3. From the perspective of the relationship between sociometic factors on the testees and their skin care behavior, the higher level married women were on (p<0.05) and the more points they have for economic status, the higher points were reflected . 4. The correlations between the testees' recognition or perception factors and points for practice of skin health state showed the higher points than the group who thought that they did not know their own skin health state (p<0.05). The higher the points of skin care fitness (p<0.0001), the higher the points of self-awareness (p<0.0001) 5. The factors that had the most powerful influence upon cognition and practice of women's skin care behavior were found, with statistical significance, to be adjustable factors such as age, smoking, drinking habit, economic status, etc. and points of cognition of the necessity for skin care behavior.
Objectives : This study was carried out to investigate the latest study tendency in mouse model of skin pruritus published since 2005 and to arrange various experimental methods. Methods : We examined the journal(such as Experimental dermatology and British journal of dermatology) and in Pubmed since 2005, regarded pruritus and scratching behavior model as key words. Results and Conclusion : 1. BALB/c, hairless, NC/Nga and ICR mice were the most used in scratching behavior model. According to scratching-induced agents. we need to select experimental mice. 2. There are various methods inducing skin pruritus; by cohabitation with NC/Nga mice having severe skin lesions, by injection intradermally(or subcutaneously) with agent inducing inflammation, by inducing contact dermatitis with TNCB, TNFB, destruction of skin barrier and by transgenic mice. 3. Injection intradermally(or subcutaneously) with agent inducing inflammation is the most used out of methods inducing skin pruritus. Compound 48/80, histamine, substance P and others(chloroquine, serotonin, carrageenin, TPA etc.) were included in agents inducing inflammation and pruritus in skin pruritus model. 4. Video camera, SCLABA system, MicroAct and acoustic evaluation system were included in evaluation methods of scratching behavior mouse model.
The purpose of this study was for the adult woman that provides the investigation, analysis, consideration of the relationship with clothing behavior and self-efficacy depends on their skin care grade. Data were collected from 477 adult females and analyzed by using frequency, dispersion analysis, ANOVA, t-test, Duncan test utilizing SPSS 10.0 program. The results were as follows: The younger and the more educated respondents were the better their skin care. Also, the more they spent on clothes, the more they spent on cosmetic products. For occupations, professionals were to have better skin care. It was expose that difference does not exist in liver that is clothing behavior main point by skin care administration degree in 50s. 20s appeared difference in general self-efficacy divination in self-efficacy, and 30s appeared that skin care degree is high as general self-efficacy and physical self-efficacy are high. It was expose that 40s and 50s are no difference of self-efficacy in between group by skin care degree.
Purpose: During the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) outbreak, mask-wearing is required to protect against and limit the spread of infection, but it can directly affect skin problems. Change in skin condition might be related to mental health. This study explored the association between skin conditions and behavior of skin cares and stress levels during the Covid-19pandemics. Research design, data and methodology: A survey was conducted on 516 adults who were aware of damaged skin due to continuous wearing of masks for a long time during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The study included 164 men and 352 women in the Republic of Korea. Results: Skin conditions and behavior of skin cares associated with stress perceptions. A multiple linear regression model was used adjusting for potential confounder. Conclusion: Since management so far in the COVID-19 Pandemic can cause skin concerns and change the original skin type, it is necessary to redefine and improve the use of skin care, face-washing methods, and functional cosmetics. People with high and low interest in skin type recognition and management were evenly identified, and it was confirmed that stress awareness decreases as awareness of skin care attitude increases.
Background: Skin cancer is a global health problem that can be prevented by protective behavior promoted by nurses. In Turkey, only few studies have examined current knowledge of nurses related to skin cancer and to reveal their attitudes towards sun exposure and current protective behavior. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed from March 11 to May 30, 2013 with a study sample of 310 nurses working in two state hospitals located in Karab$\ddot{u}$k and Safranbolu. Results: Mean age of the nurses was $30.3{\pm}6.89$ years and 96.1% of them had graduated with a Bachelor degree. The participants were predominantly female (n=284). Knowledge level about skin cancer was significantly higher for females compared to males. Conclusions: Nurses do not have sufficient knowledge about skin cancer and are not adequately protecting themselves from ultraviolet light, the primary risk factor for skin cancer. While they demonstrated a responsible attitude towards avoiding sunburn and the need for adequate sun protection, they do not fully appreciate the extent to which the sun can cause skin cancer and that they lack full understanding about the need to protect the skin from burning and to avoid long term sun exposure in Turkey.
The purpose of this study was to explore how the Theory of Planned Behavior applies to five appearance management behaviors and the effects of three variables - attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavior control on appearance management behaviors. The research was conducted by surveying 410 female adult respondents between the ages of 20 to 40 with the goal of predicting the appearance management behavior of women. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0 and Amos 19 in addition to Frequency analysis and path analysis. In the first case, the potential for applying appearance management theory on appearance management behavior of women was observed. The appearance management behavior performed by women was classified into five categories: skin care behavior, makeup management behavior, apparel management behavior, hair care behavior, and weight management behavior. It was determined all five behaviors could be predicted by applying the Theory of Planned Behavior. In the second case, effects of attitude related to subjective norm and perceived behavior control related to skin care behavior was statistically significant. In terms of makeup management behavior, all of the three variables were statistically significant. With regard to apparel management behavior, only subjective norm behavior was statistically significant. Concerning hair care behavior, attitude and perceived behavior control were statistically significant. On weight management behavior only attitude was statistically significant.
Smart skin, a multi-layer structure of composed of a round shape antenna, was designed and fabricated. Tests and analyses was conducted to study its behavior under compressive loads. It was confirmed that the designed smart skin failed due to premature buckling before compression failure. Numerical prediction of structural behavior of smart skin by MSC.NASTRAN agreed well with experimental data.
This study examines the effect of college students' interpersonal relations disposition on appearance concern and appearance management behavior. Questionnaires were administered to 202 college students living in Daegu. The SPSS 20.0 package was utilized for data analysis which included frequency analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, factor analysis, cluster analysis, regression analysis, t-test and logistic regression. Five factors of appearance management behavior (body management behavior, skin care behavior, hair/fashion behavior, cosmetics usage behavior, plastic surgery behavior), seven factors of interpersonal relations disposition (independent/responsibility, sympathetic/receptive, sociable/friendly, competitive/aggressively, conspicuous/narcissistic, defiant/distrust, dominant /supreme) and two groups of appearance concern (high, low) were utilized for the problem analysis of the study. The results of this study were: First, Interpersonal relations disposition had an influence on appearance management behavior. Conspicuous/narcissistic type showed a positive influence on body management behavior, skin care behavior, hair/fashion behavior, cosmetics usage behavior, plastic surgery behavior. The sympathetic/receptive type showed a positive influence on skin care behavior and the competitive/aggressively type showed a positive influence on hair/fashion behavior; however, independent/responsibility type showed a negative influence on cosmetic usage behavior. Second, dominant /supreme type showed a negative influence on appearance concern; however, conspicuous/narcissistic type and defiant/distrust type showed a positive influence on appearance concern. Third, the appearance concern groups showed differences on appearance management behavior. The higher appearance concern group compared to the low appearance concern group were more active for cosmetics usage behavior, hair/fashion behavior, plastic surgery behavior, body management behavior and skin care behavior.
