o In order to start SIP Project .Marketing (& ASIC team) should present biz planning, schedule, device/SIP specs., in SIP TFT prior to request SIP development for package development project. .In order to prevent (PCB) revision, test, burn-in, & quality strategy should be fixed by SIP TFT (PE/Test, QA) prior to request for PKG development. .Target product price/cost, package/ test cost should be delivered and reviewed. o Minimum Information for PCB Design, Package Size, and Cost .(Required) package form factor: size, height, type (BGA, QFP), Pin count/pitch .(Estimated) each die size including scribe lane .(Estimated) pad inform. : count, pitch, configuration(in-line/staggered), (open) size .(Estimated) each device (I/O & Core) power (especially for DRAM embedded SIP) .SIP Block diagram, and net-list using excel sheet format o Why is the initial evaluation important\ulcorner .The higher logic power resulted in spec. over of DRAM Tjmax. This caused business drop longrightarrow Thermal simulation of some SIP product is essential in the beginning stage of SIP business planning (or design) stage. (i.e., DRAM embedded SIP) .When SIP is developed using discrete packages, the I/O driver Capa. of each device may be so high for SIP. Since I/O driver capa. was optimized to discrete package and set board environment, this resulted in severe noise problem in SIP. longrightarrow In this case, the electrical performance of product (including PKG) should have been considered (simulated) in the beginning stage of business planning (or design).
The purpose of this study is 1) to research how practitioners in fashion industry in South Korea perceive concepts of Technical Design/Designer, 2) to compare and analyze issues at work by occupation, 3) to research specific works in garment development process, and 4) to compare and analyze work involvement by occupation, type of a company and etc, and 5) to propose the role of Technical Designers in apparel companies in South Korea. There were two methods to conduct this study, which were in-depth interview and survey. Both methods were conducted to designers, merchandisers, pattern makers, technical designers, and production coordinators. Frequency analysis, ANOVA, Duncan test, and Factor analysis were performed to get results by using SPSS 18.0 program. The results are following. There were 50 works during garment development process from the result of in-depth interview, and 6 factors were obtained from the result of Factor analysis, which were 'Works about Sample in Sample Development Process', 'Works about Product's Pattern and Size Spec', 'Works about Development of Garment's Design', 'Works about Planning of Product Development and Management of Product in Stock', 'Works about Production Process', and 'Preparation Works for Sample Development'. In conclusion, technical designer in apparel companies in South Korea should be in charge of works about sample in sample development process and decision making of product' size spec, which is included in works about product's pattern and size spec. Also, they should complete technical package after product is developed by designers.
This paper explores the impact of gate shape changes on the size and density of foamed cells in microcellular foam injection molding. Five different gate shapes were examined while varying the amount of nitrogen gas(N2) injected for foaming. Analysis of the results showed that while average values did not change significantly, deviation values decreased by approximately 65% for cell size and 56% for density when 3.5wt% of nitrogen gas was injected in the film gate. Further analysis was conducted to verify this phenomenon, revealing that the contact area between the gate and product had the greatest impact. Our findings indicate that to ensure uniform generation of foamed cells in microcellular foaming product design, a gate with a wide contact area should be secured.

This paper considers the following case: (1) the product is paid by the right price for a lot accepted by a given consumer's acceptance sampling plan, and (2) the product is paid by the discounted price for a lot rejected by this plan. In such a case, the producer's sampling plan need not be the same as that of the consumer's. From the producer's view point, the producer need to determine the preliminary sample size which maximizes his revenue. This paper, therefore, determines an optimal preliminary sample size from the producer's view point. This preliminary sample size is affected by the consumer's acceptance sampling plan, percent defective, preliminary inspection cost and the discount rate of the price.
This study was done to provide the basic data for improving the sizing system for infants and children's clothing. The 97 brands were surveyed through market research and on-line searching. Size and body measurements were analyzed according to the content of nominal size, type of market, national and foreign brands, and meaning of reference size. The results are as follows: 1. The meaning of nominal sizes was categorized as five cases: the size based on body measurements, the size based on age, the meaningless size, letter cord and combination of 2 out of 4 cases above. The nominal size based on height was most observed, and the meaningless nominal size was second. The meaningless nominal size can cause confusion when consumer buys clothing. 2. The department stores mainly used the nominal size based on body measurements, but the Internet shopping malls largely used the meaningless nominal size. 3. Both national brands and foreign brands mainly used the nominal size based on height. But national brands largely used the different nominal sizes. 4. 41 brands indicated body measurements as reference size and 26 brands indicated product measurements as reference size. Therefore consumers tended to confuse the body measurements with the product measurement.

Recently, Kim and Mauborgne [40] has introduced the concept of blue ocean strategy that provides quantum leap in value innovation, thus creating new market space. This study, based on the blue ocean strategy concept, suggests blue ocean new product development strategy (BONPDS), and attempts to examine how much this BONPDS has impact on new product peformance, compared to existing new Product development strategy Perspectives (i.e., competitive strategy-based new product development strategy and resource-based new product development strategy) in an empirical way. The research result shows that the BONPDS has greater impact on new product performance than existing new product development strategies. In addition, it is revealed that such contingency variables as firm size and environmental dynamism have moderating effect on the relationship between the BONPDS and new product performance. The BONPDS is more effective in the small-sized firms than the large-sized ones, and its effect on new product performance is different according to environmental dynamism.
Manufacturers have recently faced such problems like limitation of product differentiation, product commoditization and increased service request level from customers, Some manufacturers have responded the problems by introducing new business model, 'product and service integrated offering', which integrate product and its services as a bundled package, This article introduces innovative 7 cases of 'product and service integrated offering', and provides case analyses : types, methods, purposes, and risks of integration, The result of analysis, 4 strategic directions for product and service integration offering, could help manufacturers to adopt and build their model successfully, Further research topics are field survey with meaningful sample size including Business-to-Consumer and finding new causal relationships among variables like characteristics of industry, product, Integration, interaction between provider and customer, A development of design methodology on how to plan and develope a sound product service integration is the second next step for the research.

The bending phenomenon during extruding one product using four billets can be obtain by the difference of hole diameters in the multi-hole container. The difference of hole diameter caused the difference of billet amount inserted in the die cavity. As results, it can bend during extruding products by the different amount of two billets and by the cohesion of billets in the porthole dies cavity. And the bending curvature can be controlled by the size of holes and billets. The experiments using aluminium material had been done for the rectangular and square curved tube product. The results of the experiment show that the curved aluminum tube product can be bended by the extru-bending process without the defects such as the distortion of section and the thickness change of the wall of tube and the folding and wrinkling. The curvature of product is affected by shape of cross section and the difference of billet diameters. It is known that the welding and extruding and bending can be done simultaneously in the die cavity when a rectangular hollow curved tube would be extruded by porthole dies using four different size billets made of aluminum material.

This paper aims to examine the status of sizing specifications for disposable sanitary pads on the market and to offer information on product design that reflect the requests of consumer by gathering opinion through the practical experience of consumers. Seventy-six varieties of sanitary pads on market are measured and the evaluations of wearing comfort were investigated by the questionnaire and interview for sixty three varieties of sanitary pads. As a result, they were classified into five sizes related with length but vaguely related with thickness and width. Thickness is distinguished by the compressibility that is marked as slim or ultra slim by the same brand. However, there is no sizing consistency for all products. The result shows that there is some confusion for consumers to choose desired sizes, In addition, the perception of wearing is categorized into four factors that are product performance, size and fit, wearing feeling and margin of action, and adhesive property and wrapping. The manufacturing specifications for the sanitary pads on domestic market, the requests of consumers for sanitary pad design modifications, and proposals for follow-up studies were figured out through this research.

Evaluating product quality level is necessary before the manufactured items are delivered to the customer. When the amount of the items to be manufactured is limited and the product is of high price and should be evaluated by destructive testing, the number of samples to be tested should be as small as possible. This paper presents a small-sample inspection method using hyper-geometric distribution and Bayesian approach for finite small-sized population. A method of determining the minimum sample size is presented for given population size, allowable number of defectives, warranteed defective level, and confidence level which is the degree of confidence on the product quality level recognized by both the producer and the customer.
