고속도로에서 차선도색시 자연건조 및 열풍기 사용시의 차선 양생시간 비교 (Comparison of Lane Curing Time using Natural Drying and Line Drying Device when Painting Pavements on Highways)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to compare the lane curing time of natural drying and a lane drying device when painting lines on a highway. METHODS : The painting process was carried out in July 2015 and September 2015, respectively, for the Gimcheon IC - Gimcheon JC. After the painting, measurements were obtained three times at six measurement points located at 20 m intervals on the shoulder line and the dividing line. The curing time was measured for natural drying and drying using a lane drying device, and compared for different pavement types (asphalt, concrete) and paint types (waterborne paint, methyl methacrylate paint). RESULTS : The results of the lane curing time comparison on the highway are as follows. The combination of asphalt and methyl methacrylate paint cured more rapidly during both the natural drying and drying using the lane drying device. Finally, it was cured at least 32.2% and 40.7% faster when using a drying device than in natural drying. CONCLUSIONS : The comparison of lane curing time of the highway showed that the combination of asphalt and methyl methacrylate paint cured more rapidly when using both natural drying and a lane drying device.

Cyclosporin A와 methylprednisolone이 이인자형이식된 쥐기관의 상피조직재생에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (The Effect of Cyclosporin A and Methylprednisolone on the Epithelial Regeneration of the Allograft Rat Tracheal Segments)

  • This study examined the effects of cyclosporin A [CsA] and methylprednisolone[MP] on the viability of the devascularized trachea after heterotopic transplantation. Fourty-two tracheal segments were harvested from 21 donor Wistar rats. Those tracheal segments were heterotopically implanted into the abdomen of recipient rats after wrapping in omentum. Heterotopical implantation was performed in six groups of rats:Group I was Wistar syngeneic controls, and five groups of Sprague Dawley recipients, receiving no immunosuppression[Group II], CsA alone[Group III, V], and CsA in combination with MP[Group IV, VI]. After 14 days, the tracheal segments were histologically evaluated.Epithelial thickness and the degree of epithelial regeneration were significantly different between group I and group II, III, VI, VI [p< 0.05]. There were significant differences in the epithelial thickness between group II, III, IV and group V, VI. In the degree of epithelial regeneration, there were significant differences in group II, group III-IV, and group V-VI. Without immunosuppression there was virtually no epithelium, whereas low-dose immunosuppression yielded intermediated viability, and with high dose CsA and MP we observed improved tracheal viability. Our results suggest that optimal combination of CsA and MP may improve the viability in heterotopic tracheal allografts.

외상 후 슬관절 강직에 대한 복합 한의치료의 경과: 증례보고 (Combination of Korean Medicine Therapy to Treat Posttraumatic Knee Stiffness: A Case Report)

  • The purpose of this study is to illustrate the potential for clinical improvement in treating a patient with a case of Posttraumatic Knee Stiffness with a combination of Korean medicine therapy. We treated the patient with acupuncture, electroacupuncture, CHUNA manual therapy and Interferential Current Therapy from $5^{th}$ December 2016 to $13^{th}$ January 2017 (total 29 times) by evaluating knee function with VAS score. After six weeks of treatment, this patient achieved effective outcome following the technique, showing that clinical symptom as able to walked and pain was relieved, VAS changed from 10 to 2 and the knee flexion ROM (active/passive) changed from 30/60 degrees to 120/140 degrees. This result shows that Korean Medicine therapy may be an effective option for Posttraumatic Knee Stiffness. Further clinical studies are needed to clarify the effect of Korean Medicine therapy on Posttraumatic Knee Stiffness.

Comparing the Therapeutic Effects of Aloe vera and Olive Oil Combination Cream versus Topical Betamethasone for Atopic Dermatitis: A Randomized Double-blind Clinical Trial

  • Objectives: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a prevalent and chronic, pruritic inflammatory skin condition that can influence all age groups. AD is associated with a poor health-related quality of life. This randomized clinical trial was performed to compare the effectiveness of Olivederma (combination of aloe vera and virgin olive oil) or betamethasone regarding disease severity, quality of life, serum IgE and eosinophil count. Methods: Thirty-six AD patients were randomly allocated to topical Olivederma or betamethasone, and were followed for 6 weeks. Results: Total SCORAD severity scores showed significant decrease in both groups, while it was more prominent in Olivederma group (64.5% improvement in Olivederma vs. 13.5% improvement in Betamethasone, p-value < 0.001). Quality of life (DLQI questionnaire) of AD patients was significantly improved after 6 weeks treatment with Betamethasone (22.3%, p < 0.001) and Olivederma (60.7%, p-value < 0.001). Olivederma group showed a significantly lower DLQI score in comparison with Betamethasone treated patients after 6 weeks of therapy (p < 0.001). Improvements in eosinophil count and serum IgE was observed. Conclusion: In summary, this study shows that Olivederma is superior to topical Betamethasone after 6 weeks of therapy with regard to disease severity, quality of life and eosinophil count.

열형광선량계(熱螢光線量計)의 에너지의존성(依存性) 보상(補償) (The Compensation of the Energy Dependence of TLD)

  • The $CaSO_4$ : Tm-PTFE TLDs have been prepared and their energy dependences of TL intensity to X-rays have been investigated. The dose dependence of the prepared $CaSO_4$ : Tm-PTFE TLDs is linear within the range of $100{\mu}Gy-10Gy$ for X-rays and gamma rays. The spectral peaks of TL emission spectrum are at about 350nm and 475nm. The fading rate of the main peak has been found to be about 2% for 30days when $CaSO_4$ : Tm-PTFE TLDs stored in the dark room at room temperature. The energy dependence of $CaSO_4$ : Tm-PTFE TLD has been compensated by combining the TL responses of one bare TLD and five TLDs filtered with 1.0mm Al, 0.2mm Cu, 0.5mm Cu, 1.5mm Cu, 2.0mm Pb respectively. The determined correction coefficients for filter combination are $a_0=0.078,\;a_1=-0.009,\;a_2=-0.235,\;a_3=0.588,\;a_4=0.568\;and\;a_5=0.180$ respectively. From the results of these studies, the prepared TLD badge of six dosimeter combination may be useful as a radiation dosimeter for personal and environmental monitoring.

Use of Ionizing Radiation as a Phytosanitary Treatment for Postharvest Disease Control

  • Postharvest diseases cause considerable losses to harvested fruits and vegetables worldwide. Fresh produce suspected of harboring postharvest disease must be treated to control any pathogens present. Although there are various treatments to control postharvest losses by pathogens, the current community is eager to take safer and more eco-friendly alternatives to help with human health and reduce environmental risks. Ionizing irradiation is a promising phytosanitary treatment that has a significant potential to control postharvest diseases in use worldwide. Although almost 19000 metric tons of sweet potatoes and various fruits are irradiated each year in six countries to control postharvest disease, irradiation continues to be a debate, with slow acceptance by industries. Irradiation alone is not effective as a fungicide, and an over dose affects the physical properties of irradiated products. A combination of irradiation with other treatments such as heating, biocontrol agents, chlorination, and nano Ag particles is to enhance their effectiveness. Challenges to the use of phytosanitary irradiation are an avoidance of irradiated postharvest and cost of the irradiation facilities, and thus consumers still need to be educated on the principles and benefits of irradiation and prepare an optimum economy of scale for commercial use. In this review, we evaluated the current phytosanitary irradiation, and combination with various other treatments to minimize the postharvest losses.

노후 공동주택 리모델링 수직증축분 소형 평면 계획에 대한 연구 (A Study on Small Size Plans of Vertical Extension Remodeling for Aged Apartment)

  • This study suggested practical considerations in case of planning Small-Sized Household Units of the Vertical Extension of Aged Apartment along with selecting particular Age-Apartment Complex to plan Small-Sized Household Units. Four parts of consideration; (1) Architectural planning aspects, (2) Resident aspects, (3) Structural aspects, and (4) Facility aspects were thoroughly examined to apply in the remodeling construction period. Proposals for Small-Sized Household Units, in this study, covered two different combinations. One was the combination of six equal units, the other was the combination of eleven different types of household units which reflected resident aspects in plan organizations. Plan organization proposal could be chosen and applied to Vertical Extended units by Local Government, Remodeling Association, or Constructor based on their potential residents' aspect, such as family size, life style, age, amount to income and etc. to fulfill their satisfaction. Furthermore, this study had great significance of the adequately reflecting demand on Small-Sized Household Units in Vertical Extension of Aged Apartment.

마분 퇴비 시용 수준이 이탈리안 라이그라스 생산성과 용탈수 성분에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Horse Manure Compost Application Level on the Productivity of Italian Ryegrass and Soil Nitrate Leaching)

  • 국내에서 말 사육 두수가 가장 많고 화산회토양으로 이루어져 있는 제주도에서 마분 퇴비의 시용수준이 이탈리안 라이그라스의 생산성과 수질 환경에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 본 연구를 수행하였다. 사료작물은 이탈리안 라이그라스(코윈어리)를 공시하였고 용탈수 성분 분석을 위해서 간이 Lysimeter를 제작하였다. 퇴비 시용 수준에 따라 6처리하였고, 이탈리안 라이그라스의 수량 등 생산성을 조사하였다. 용탈수는 7회 채취하여 NO3-N, PO4-P, Cr, Cu, Zn을 분석하였다. 마분 퇴비 시용 수준에 따른 이탈리안 라이그라스의 건물 수량은 화학비료구가 유의적으로 가장 높게 나타났고(11,965±564 kg/ha), 마분 퇴비 150%, 혼용구가 그 다음으로 유의적으로 높게 나타났으며(9,043±681 kg/ha, 8,825±611 kg/ha), 마분퇴비 100%, 50%가 그 다음으로 나타났다(4,293±804 kg/ha, 2,986±739 kg/ha)(p<0.05). 용탈수의 분석항목 중 질산태 질소(NO3-N)의 경우 3차 분석까지는 전체적으로 증가하다가 감소하는 경향을 보였고 마지막 6, 7차 분석 시에는 검출되지 않았다(Fig. 2.). NO3-N는 처리구 간에 유의적인 차이는 없었으나 수치적으로 마분 퇴비 150% 시용구에서 NO3-N가 가장 많은 경향이 나타났고, 화학비료구와 혼용구는 수치적으로 마분 퇴비를 시용했을 때보다 적거나 비슷한 수준을 나타났다. NO3-N를 제외한 나머지 PO4-P, Cr, Cu, Zn은 전 기간 거의 검출되지 않았다. 본 연구 결과를 종합했을 때 마분 퇴비를 시용할 때는 기비로 마분 퇴비를 질소 기준 50%수준 시비하고 이듬해 봄 추비로 화학비료를 나머지 50% 수준으로 시비하면 수량이 크게 떨어지지 않으면서 수질 오염에도 상대적으로 적은 영향을 줄 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

옥수수 유망자식계통들의 잡종집단에서 주요 농업형질들의 유전분석 (Genetic Studies of Major Agronomic Traits in Hybrid Populations of Maize Inbred Lines.)

  • 본 연구는 교잡종 옥수수의 품종개발 및 옥수수의 생산능력 방법을 개선하기 위한 기초연구로 미국에서 도입된 유망자식계통들을 이용한 5개의 교배조합들 그리고 이들의 F$_1$ 및 F$_2$ 세대에서 6개의 농업형 질들에 대한 유전양상을 구명하였다. 공시된 5개의 교배조합들과 조사된 6개의 농업형질들에서의 잡종강세효과는 교배조합 및 농업형질들에 따라 다소 차이는 있었지만 교배조합들 중에서는 Mo17/B14A, Va85/B73조합들이 조사된 대부분의 형질들에서 가장 뚜렷한 잡종강세 효과를 나타내었으며 , 그리고 조사된 6개의 농업형질들 중에서는 종자생산량이 교배조합들 사이에서 가장 큰 잡종강세 효과를 나타내었다. 조사된 6개의 농업형질들 중에서 종자생산량은 5개의 교배 조합들 중에서 C103/ND203과 FR35/Oh43 조합을 제외한 나머지 조합들에서 자식약세 현상이 다른 형질들보다 가장 크게 나타났고, 그리고 이들 수량관련 형질들은 일부 교배조합들에서의 예외적 경우를 제외하면 모두 정의 방향으로 자식 약세 현상이 나타나는 것으로 관찰되었다. 공시된 5개의 교배조합들 중에서 Mo17/B14A, C103/ND203 조합들은 조사된 6개의 농업형질들 모두에서 50%이상의 비교적 높은 유전성을 나타내었고, 반면에 Va85/B73 조합은 100립 중을 제외한 모든 형질들에서, 그리고 FR35/Oh43 조합은 간장과 착수고를 제외한 모든 형질들에서 50% 이하의 낮은 유전력을 나타내었다. 그리고 조사된 6개의 농업형질들 중에서 이삭길이를 제외한 모든 형질들은 5개의 교배조합들 모두에서 평균 유전력이 50% 이상을 나타내었으므로 이러한 형질들은 옥수수의 교잡육종을 위한 중요한 선발형질들임을 나타내었다 이상의 결과에 의하면, 본 연구에 이용된 5개의 교배 조합들 중에서 대비 조합으로 쓰인 Mo17/B14A(수원19호)조합은 조사된 대부분의 형질들에서 비교적 높은 생육 및 수량특성을 나타내었으므로 옥수수의 계통선발에 의한 품종육성에 유용한 품종 및 자원인 것으로 확인되었다.

Antifungal Activities of Essential Oils from Six Conifers against Aspergillus fumigatus

  • The antifungal activities of the essential oils from Pinus densiflora, Pinus koraiensis, Abies holophylla, Larix kaempferi, Cryptomeria japonica and Chamaecyparis obtusa against Aspergillus fumigatus were evaluated. Essential oils were extracted from each conifer leaves for 8 h using water distillation method. The essential oil from A. holophylla appeared the strongest antifungal activity among the six oils with MIC value 0.125 mg/$m{\ell}$. The composition of the A. holophylla oil was analysed by GC/MS and then MIC was determined for main constituents of the oil. As the results, borneol and ${\alpha}$-bisabolol, which have a hydroxyl group, showed effective antifungal activities against A. fumigatus (0.25 mg/$m{\ell}$). In addition, the synergistic antifungal effects were observed in the combination of borneol and ${\alpha}$-bisabolol.
