단일단 어댑터를 위한 새로운 LLC 공진컨버터 (A Novel LLC Resonant Converter for Single-Stage Adapter)

  • 본 논문에서는 다이오드정류기와 커패시터 필터로 구성된 입력전원을 가지고 동작되는 60W이하의 출력파워용량을 갖는 어댑터를 위한 새로운 LLC 공진컨버터에 대한 내용이다. 보조스위치의 동작에 의해 제안된 LLC 공진컨버터는 모든 입력전원 ($110V_{AC}$/ $220V_{AC}$) 및 부하조건에서 높은 효율특성을 가지고 전력을 전달 할 수 있다. 제안된 컨버터에 대한 동작특성에 대해 분석, 서술되어 있으며, 60W 시제품제작 및 실험을 통하여 적용 가능함을 보였다.

  • In order to reduce the overall size and cost, researchers attempted to integrate the functions of power factor correction(PFC) and isolated dc-dc conversion into single power stage. However, single-stage isolated PFC converters have higher voltage stress and heavier loss when compared with a normal dc-dc converters. In this paper, we propose to add active clamping circuit to keep the switch voltage stress low and to achieve soft switching of electronic devices.

  • 최근, 전자 제품의 소형화와 저소비전력화 및 향상된 효율과 역률개선이 큰 관심 사항이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 PWM 제어기반의 AC-DC 컨버터를 설계, 제작하였다. AC-DC 컨버터는 하나의 정류회로와 하나의 출력전압 제어 회로가 직렬로 연결되는 구조로 설계하였으며, 정류회로는 다이오드 기반 단상 전파전류 회로, 출력전압 제어 회로는 PWM 제어기반의 DC-DC 변환 회로를 적용하였다. PWM 제어를 위한 주 제어장치로 아두이노를 이용하였으며, LCD를 출력 단에 구성하여 제어 결과를 확인할 수 있도록 하였다. 시험회로를 통한 반복 실험들을 통해서 오실로스코프와 LCD에 디스플레이 되는 출력전압과 목표 출력전압의 오차를 확인하였으며, 오실로스코프 측정값을 기준으로 약 5%의 오차율을 보임으로써 제안된 설계 방법론의 유효성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents a hybrid SoC design for phase detection of single tone signal. The designed hybrid SoC is composed of three functional blocks, i.e., an analog to digital converter module, a phase detection module and a controller module. A design of the controller module is based on a 16-bit RISC architecture. An I/O interface and an LCD control interface for transmission and display of phase measurement values are included in the design of the controller module. A design of the phase detector is based on a recursive sliding-DFT. The recursive architecture effectively reduces the gate numbers required in the implementation of the module. The ADC module includes a single-bit second-order sigma-delta modulator and a digital decimation filter. The decimation filter is designed to give 98dB of SNR for the ADC. The effective resolution of the ADC is enhanced to 98dB of SNR by the incorporation of a pre FIR filter, a 2-stage cascaded integrator- comb(CIC) filter and a 30-tab FIR filter in the decimation. The hybrid SoC is verified in FPGA and implemented in 0.35 CMOS Technology.

LED 구동용 단일단 PFC CCM 플라이백 컨버터의 히스테리시스 최적 제어 (Optimal Hysteresis Control for CCM Driving of a Single-Stage PFC Flyback Converter for LED Lightings)

  • The current control of Continuous Conduction Mode(CCM) can be implemented by several methods: peak current control; average current control; and hysteresis control. Among these methods, the hysteresis current control is popularly applied in various converter applications because of its simplicity of implementation, fast current control response and inherent peak current limiting capability. However, a current controller with conventional hysteresis band which multiplies the current reference has the disadvantage that the modulation frequency varies in one cycle of the input voltage and, as a result, generates high switching frequency in the low input voltage section. Also it is complicated to design the input filter due to varying switching frequency. This paper proposed an optimum hysteresis-band current control method where the band is generated by using both multiplication method and sum method to maintain the modulation frequency to be nearly constant. This approach can solve the high switching frequency in the low input voltage section, and achieve easy design of input filter. The performance of the proposed converter is verified with the simulation and the experimental works.

A Bidirectional Single-Stage DC/AC Converter for Grid Connected Energy Storage Systems

  • In this paper, a unified control strategy using the current space vector modulation (CSVM) technique is proposed and applied to a bidirectional three-phase DC/AC converter. The operation of the converter changes with the direction of the power flow. In the charging mode, it works as a buck type rectifier; and during the discharging mode, it operates as a boost type inverter, which makes it suitable as an interface between high voltage AC grids and low voltage energy storage devices. This topology has the following advantages: high conversion efficiency, high power factor at the grid side, tight control of the charging current and fast transition between the charging and discharging modes. The operating principle of the mode analysis, the gate signal generation, the general control strategy and the transition from a constant current (CC) to a constant voltage (CV) in the charging mode are discussed. The proposed control strategy has been validated by simulations and experimental results obtained with a 1kW laboratory prototype using supercapacitors as an energy storage device.

Flyback AC-DC Converter with Low THD Based on Primary-Side Control

  • A single-stage flyback LED AC-DC converter based on primary-side control under constant current mode is proposed in this study. The proposed converter features low total harmonic distortion (THD) and high power factor (PF). It also consists of a zero-crossing distortion compensation circuit and a variable duty ratio control compensation circuit to deal with the line current distortions caused by fixed duty ratio control. The system model and layout are built in Simplis and Cadence, respectively. The feasibility and performance of the proposed circuit is verified by designing and fabricating an IC controller in the HHNEC $0.35{\mu}m$ 5 V/40 V HVCMOS process. Experimental results show that the PF can reach a level in the range of 0.985-0.9965. Moreover, the average THD of the entire system is approximately 10%, with the minimum being 6.305%, as the input line voltage changes from 85 VAC to 265 VAC.

고전압 태양광 패널용 고효율 단상 태양광 인버터 (A High-efficiency Single-phase Photovoltaic Inverter for High-voltage Photovoltaic Panels)

  • 고전압 태양광 패널에서 단상 계통으로의 직류-교류 전력 변환을 위해 벅부스트 컨버터에 풀브리지 인버터를 종속적으로 연결하는 두 단계의 무변압기 인버터가 주로 사용된다. 태양광 패널의 큰 기생 커패시턴스에 기인하는 과도한 누설 전류를 피하기 위해 풀브리지 인버터는 단극성 PWM에 비해 훨씬 더 많은 전력 손실을 초래하는 양극성 PWM으로만 스위칭할 수 있다. 그런 낮은 효율을 개선하기 위해 본 논문은 벅부스트 컨버터에 회로 절연을 위한 IGBT와 다이오드를 하나씩 추가한 새로운 토폴로지를 제안한다. 제안된 회로 절연 방식은 누설 전류를 증가시키지 않으면서 풀브리지 인버터에서 단극성 PWM을 가능케 함으로써 전체 효율을 개선한다. 제안된 방법의 타당성은 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 전력 손실 계산을 통해 검증한다.

입력전류 파형 개선효과를 갖는 전자식 안정기에 관한 연구 (A Study on Electronic Ballast with Improved Input Current Waveform)

  • In this paper, electronic ballast with Interleaved Boost Cell is presented. The proposed topology is based on a single-stage ballast which combines a boost converter and a half-bridge series resonant inverter High power factor and low THD(reduction of current ripple) are achieved by using the boost semi-stage operating in discontinuous conduction mode, and inverter semi-stage operated above resonant frequency to provide zero voltage switching is employed to ballast the fluorescent lamp. The experimental results from the ballast system with fluorescent lamps have demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed electronic ballast.
