A new weight function approach to determine SIF(stress intensity factor) using single-layer potential has been presented. The crack surface displacement field was represented by one boundary integral term whose kernel was modified from Kelvin's fundamental solution. The proposed method enables the calculation of SIF using only one SIF solution without any modification for the crack geometries symmetric in two-dimensional plane such as a center crack in a plate with or without an internal hole, double edge cracks, circumferential crack or radial cracks in a pipe. The application procedure to those crack problems is very simple and straightforward with only one SIF solution. The necessary information in the analysis is two reference SIFs. The analysis results using present closed-form solution were in good agreement with those of the literature.

본 연구의 목적은 삼각형네트워크를 갖는 핀접합 단층래티스돔이 형상초기부정을 가질 경우 하중상태에 따라 좌굴특성에 미치는 영향을 검토하는 것이다. 또한 형상초기부정을 고려하는 단층래티스돔의 일반화 좌굴내력식의 개발을 위한 기초자료를 수집하는데 있다. 해석은 유한요소법에 의한 이산화해석법을 이용했다.

To serve the growing demand of the bidirectional information exchange, we propose a single relay selection (RS) scheme for physical-layer network coding (PNC) in a bidirectional cooperative network consisting of two sources and multiple relays. This RS scheme selects a single best relay by maximizing the bottleneck of the capacity region of both information flows in the bidirectional network. We show that the proposed RS rule minimizes the outage probability and that it can be used as a performance benchmark for any RS rules with PNC. We derive a closed-form exact expression of the outage probability for the proposed RS rule and show that it achieves full diversity gain. Finally, numerical results demonstrate the validity of our analysis.

We present a simple process for the fabrication of high performance transparent conducting films that contain single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) noncovalently coated with an ultrathin titania layer. The hydrophobic interactions between nanotube surfaces and the acetylacetone (acac) ligands used to stabilize the $TiO_2$ precursor provide an interesting alternative method for noncovalently coating the SWCNTs with a titania layer. The ultrathin titania layer on SWCNTs prevented the oxidation of functionalized SWCNTs at high temperatures, and protected against water molecule absorption.

Large eddy simulation of a circular jet at the Reynolds number of 10000 is performed to investigate turbulence suppression effect with single frequency excitation at the non-dimensional frequency of 0.017. Instantaneous flow fields show that, with excitation, naturally occurring energetic vortices are suppressed through earlier saturation and breakdown of the shear layer vortices into fine grained turbulence. Due to the excitation, the Reynolds stresses are larger for the excited case near the jet and turbulence suppression begins afterward. The Reynolds normal stresses show largest suppression in the shear layer near the jet and in the centerline further downstream, while the Reynolds shear stress shows largest suppression in the shear layer at all the downstream locations.

구형 단층래스티돔은 강성이 강한 반면 외력이 어느 임계치에 도달하면 좌굴에 의해 구조물 전체의 붕괴가 발생할 수 있다. 특히 시공오차에 의해 발생할 수 있는 기하학적 형상부정과 설비시설 등에 의한 집중하중은 구조물의 내력을 감소시키는 주 요인이 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 기하학적으로 형상 부정이 없는 완전계 및 불완전계 구형 단충래티스돔이 설비시설 등에 의해 집중하중을 받을 경우 그 좌굴특성을 검토한다.

We have developed a transflective liquid crystal display (LCD) with a single cell gap and a low twisted nematic (LTN) mode in combination with a self-integrated retardation layer. The retardation layer was made of UV curable liquid crystalline material in one step of photo masking process and has both the homeotropic and the planar parts. The proposed transflective configuration has advantages in a simple fabrication process, and the possibility for a single driving scheme due to the similarity between the transmittance and the reflectance.

The purpose of this study is to predict VOCs emission rates from multi-layers materials, which are composed of single-layer materials having various VOCs emission rates, by using effective diffusion coefficients of the single-layer materials. The study was consisted of two parts; the one is the prediction of VOCs emission rates from multi-layer materials through numerical methods. The other is the measurement of VOCs emissions rates of wall composite and floor composite in Mock-up rooms for comparing the prediction and the experiments' values. The results of the study show that the short-term VOCs emission rates of multi-layers materials can be predicted from the effective diffusion coefficients of single materials in odor accuracy.

This paper deals with operation characteristics of a written-pole motor (WPM), having that of a permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motor and induction motor at once. The WPM also has a magnet layer on the surface of the rotor and the exciter pole that is a device to make the magnet layer magnetized during the operation. This study, introducing a fundamental structure and operation characteristics of a single-phase WPM, proposes a initial design method. With those ground, a 130W, single-phase WPM that is designed for a home appliance is presented and verified with a performance through the experiment.
