HgGa2S4 단결정의 광학적 특성연구 (A Study on the Optical Properties of HgGa2S4 Single Crystal)

  • HgGa$_2$S$_4$ single crystals were grown by the chemical transport reaction method. The HgGa$_2$S$_4$ single crystal crystallized into a defect chalcopyrite structure (I 4). The lattice constants of the single crystal were found to be a = 5.635 $\AA$ and c = 10.473 $\AA$. The direct and indirect optical energy gaps were found to be 2.84eV and 2.78eV, respectively. Photoluminescence peaks of HgGa$_2$S$_4$ single crystal were observed at 2.37 eV, 2.18 eV, and 1.81 eV. In the single crystal, the donor level of 0.25 eV, the acceptor levels of 0.97 eV and 0.41 eV were obtained by TSC, PICTS, and absorption measurements. The photoluminescence peaks were analyzed to relate to the indirect conduction band, the donor level, and the acceptor levels.

  • To investigate the characteristics of the single dendrimer molecule, we attempt to measure morphology and electrical properties of the self-assembled dendrimer on Au (111)substrate with SPM(scanning probe microscopy). The same self-assembly procedure was used for two different concentrations, $10{\mu}mol/ml$ and $100{\mu}mol/ml$. The case of lower concentration, we can measure the diameter and the height of the single molecule with the tapping mode AFM image. The imaged single molecules were dome shaped and the average diameter and height were 15.6 nm, 1.2 nm respectively. From these sizes, we can calculate the volume of the single molecule. The volume of the single molecule was estimated about $116nm^3$. However, that of higher concentration, it is difficult to obtain obvious image of the single molecule. To add to, I-V characteristics were investigated using STM, on which the phenomenon of negative differential resistance (NDR)was observed between 0.14 V and 0.24 V reproductively.

폐비닐 재활용을 위한 재생원료 분석 및 배합비율에 따른 특성 평가 (Analysis of Recycled Raw Materials and Evaluation of Characteristics by Mixing Ratio for Recycling of Waste Vinyl)

  • 생활계에서 발생되는 폐비닐은 토사, 금속, 유리 등의 이물질로 인해 고형연료(SRF, Solid Refuse Fuel)로 사용되었지만 최근 환경문제로 인해 고형연료의 사용량이 감소하고 있어 재활용이 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 폐비닐 재활용을 위해 우선 생활계 폐비닐로 생산된 복합 재생원료와 영농폐비닐로 생산된 PE 단일 재생원료에 대해 분석을 진행하였다. 원료 분석 결과, 폐비닐은 주로 폴리에틸렌으로 이루어져 있고 복합 재생원료는 약 2%의 회분이 잔존하고 있으며 PE 단일 재생원료의 경우는 회분이 없는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 두 재생원료의 배합비율에 따른 인장강도를 측정한 결과 열처리 온도 200 ℃, 압착 압력 30 MPa, 배합비율 3:7 (복합:PE 단일) 조건에서 인장강도가 최대 약 16 MPa임을 확인하였다. 굽힘강도는 열처리 온도 200 ℃, 압착 압력 30 MPa, 배합비율 3:7 (복합:PE 단일) 조건에서 최대 약 39 MPa임을 확인하였다. 따라서 재생원료들의 배합비율에 따른 강도 특성 변화를 확인함으로써 폐비닐의 재활용 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다.

  • One-dimensional, nanomaterial field effect transistors (FET) are promising sensors for bio-molecule detection applications. In this paper, we review fabrication and characteristics of 1-D nanomaterial FET type biosensors. Materials such as single wall carbon nanotubes, Si nanowires, metal oxide nanowires and nanotubes, and conducting polymer nanowires have been widely investigated for biosensors, because of their high sensitivity to bio-substances, with some capable of detecting a single biomolecule. In particular, we focus on three important aspects of biosensors: alignment of nanomaterials for biosensors, surface modification of the nanostructures, and electrical detection mechanism of the 1-D nanomaterial sensors.

  • Lipomyces starkeyi KSM 22 elaborates an enzyme that has both dextranase and amylase activities in a single protein of 100 kDa. Competition studies, using different amounts of dextran and starch as substrates, gave a competition plot consistent with the hypothesis that the hydrolysis of dextran and starch occurs at two independent active sites, each specific for starch and dextran, respectively.

  • An adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode controller (SMC) for uncertain or ill-defined single-input single-output (SISO) nonaffine nonlinear systems is proposed. By using the universal approximation property of the fuzzy logic system (FLS), it is tuned on-line to cancel the unknown system nonlinearity. We adopt a self-structuring FLS to guarantee global stability of the closed-loop system rather than semi=global boundedness. The control and adaptive laws are derived so that the estimated fuzzy parameters are bounded and the sliding condition is satisfied.

  • Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have attracted great attention as the common power source in energy storage fields of large-scale applications such as electrical vehicles (EVs), industries, power plants, and grid-scale energy storage systems (ESSs). Insertion, alloying, and conversion reactions are the main electrochemical energy storage mechanisms in LIBs, which determine their electrochemical properties and performances. The electrochemical reaction mechanisms are determined by several factors including crystal structure, components, and composition of electrode materials. This article reviews a new strategy to compensate for the intrinsic shortcomings of each reaction mechanism by introducing the material systems to form a single compound with different types of reaction mechanisms and to allow the simultaneous hybrid electrochemical reaction of two different mechanisms in a single solid solution phase.
