A Single Carrier Multi-Modulation Method In Multilevel Inverters

  • A novel variant of full multi-modulation applications to diode-clamped and cascade multilevel inverter-termed single carrier multi-modulation is presented. The proposed PWM-technique is advantageous for its simple implementation. The correlation between multi-carrier and single-carrier multi-modulations is deduced. For the PWM methods, a mathematical model of voltage source inverter and general algorithm for the multi-modulating modulator are proposed. The theory is demonstrated by simulation results

  • 일반적인 Bulk carrier는 Single deck, Double bottom, Hopper side tank, Top side tank와 함께 Single side skin 또는 Double side skin으로 구성되어 Single hull bulk carrier 또는 Double hull bulk carrier라 불린다. 본 논문의 연구선박인 Double hull bulk carrier는 CSR에서 규정짓고 있는 Double hull bulk carrier의 특징 중 Hopper side tank가 없기에 일반적인 Double hull bulk carrier와는 다른 구조를 가진다. 구조적 특징으로는 Inner bottom과 Inner hull 연결부위에 응력 집중 발생, Side shell의 Shear에 대해 구조적 안전성, Double hull에 대한 CSR for bulk carrier의 Rule적용 여부에 대한 판단 등이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Double hull bulk carrier의 구조적 특징과 구조해석을 통한 응력 집중 부위의 평가 및 Fatigue analysis을 통한 피로수명을 계산하여 이를 통해 구조의 안전성을 살펴보고자 한다.

Performance Comparison of Single-Carrier and Multi-Carrier Systems in a Terahertz Wireless Communication Environment

  • This paper investigates the performance comparison of a Terahertz (THz) communications for a single-carrier and a multi-carrier single antenna point-to-point communication system. The multi-carrier system and single carrier system consider the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and the minimum mean square error linear equalizer (MMSE-LE), respectively. We compare the frame-error-rate (FER) and throughput performance of both the systems for a THz communication environment with the carrier frequency of 300GHz and the tapped delay line (TDL) channel models described in 3GPP. It is observed from the simulation results that the OFDM systems outperform the MMSE-LE for various configurations.

  • In this paper, a new simple PWM method for Vienna rectifier is proposed. The previous SVPWM method for Vienna rectifier is very complex and difficult to implement. To solve these problems, a new single-carrier comparison PWM method for voltage control of Vienna rectifier is proposed. Because of using the only single carrier, implementation of the proposed PWM is very simple. In the proposed PWM method, carrier comparison parts of the PWM block is only changed from the 2 level PWM control block. The usefulness of the proposed PWM method is verified by the simulation and experiment.

다중경로 라이시안 페이딩 채널에서 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템의 성능 해석 (Performance Analysis of Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA System in Multipath Rician Fading Channel)

  • 본 논문은 다중경로 라이시안 페이딩과 다중접속간섭이 함께 존재하는 단일 셀 내의 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템은 오율 성능을 분석하고, 이를 Single-Carrier Ds-CDMA 시스템의 오율 성능과 비교하였다. 또한, 다중경로 페이딩과 다중접속간섭에 의하여 열화된 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템의 성능 개선을 위해 부호화율이 1/2, 1/3 그리고 1/4인 콘볼루션 부호화 기법을 채용하여, 이로부터 얻어지는 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템의 성능 특성을 알아 보았다. 분석 결과, 다중경로 페이딩과 다중접속간섭이 존재하는 채널에서 Single-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템의 RAKE 수신기의 가지를 증가시키거나 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템의 반송파의 수를 적정하게 선택함으로써 시스템의 사용자의 수를 결정할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 콘볼루션 부호가 적용된 Multi-Carrier CS-CCMA 시스템은 부호이득과 전력제한의 사이의 trade off를 고려하여 부호화율을 선택하여야 함을 알 수 있었다. 결과적으로 Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA 시스템은 반송파의 수가 증가할수록 처리이득은 감소하나 주파수 다이버시티 효과로 인하여 오율 성능이 개선되었으며, 낮은 칩율을 사용한 시스템의 구성이 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper proposes an alternate time-switched multiplexed space-frequency block coding technique for single-carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization. The traditional multiplexed space-frequency block coding technique for single-carrier modulation uses multiple groups of two transmitters and suppresses the interference signals of other SFBC groups at the receiver. In this paper, we reconfigure transmit signals to adapt them for alternate time-switched multiplexed SFBC for single-carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization and receiver structures and propose a structure for transmitter and receiver, show that its performance is better than the traditional algorithm by simulations.

  • Effects of water soluble carrier on the dissolution characteristics of indomethacin coprecipitates were investigated. Water soluble carriers used were polyvinylpyrrolidone, dextrose, mannitol and their mixtures of various ratios. The dissolution rates of indomethacin from coprecipitate with ratios of drug-to-carrier, kinds of carrier and ratios of carriers were as follows: 1. The dissolution rates increased proportionally to the ratios of carrier in the case of both single and combined carrier, and the dissolution rate of coprecipitate with the combined carrier was more rapid than that with single carrier. 2. The combined carrier of PVP-dextrose (1 : 2) in the case of the coprecipitate of drug-to carrier (1 : 1) and PVP-dextrose (4 : 1) in the case of the coprecipitate of drug-to carrier (1 : 3) yield the most rapid dissolution rate. 3. The dissolution rate of indomethacin was the most markedly enhanced in the case of the combined carrier of PVP and dextrose.

  • This paper proposes an impulse response shortening algorithm applicable to decision feedback equalization of single carrier wideband signal. When he impulse response shortening methods for narrowband signaling are applied to single carrier wideband signals, they result in noise enhancement problem, significantly deterioriting the receiver performance. This problem can be alleviated by educing the eigenvalue spread ratio of the impulse response, which can be achieved by adding additive white noise with small variance to the impulse response of the channel. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified by computer simulation.
