Password-based mechanism is widely used methods for user authentication. Password-based mechanisms are using memorable passwords(weak ferrets), therefore Password-based mechanism are vulnerable to the password guessing attack. To overcome this problem, man password-based authenticated key exchange protocols have been proposed to resist password guessing attacks. Recently, Seo-Sweeny proposed password-based Simple Authenticated Key Agreement(SAKA) protocol. In this paper, first, we will examine the SAKA and authenticated key agreement protocols, and then we will show that the proposed simple authenticated key agreement protocols are still insecure against Advanced Modification Attack. And we propose a password-based Simple Authenticated Key Agreement Protocol secure against Advanced Modification Attack.
Recently, with the development of smart technology, in medical information platform, patient's biometric data is measured in real time and accumulated into database, and it is possible to determine the patient's emergency situations. Medical staff can easily access patient information after simple authentication using a mobile terminal. However, in accessing medical information using the mobile terminal, it is necessary to study authentication in consideration of the patient situations and mobile terminal. In this paper, we studied on medical information platforms based on big data processing and edge computing for supporting automatic authentication in emergency situations. The automatic authentication system that we had studied is an authentication system that simultaneously performs user authentication and mobile terminal authentication in emergency situations, and grants upper-level access rights to certified medical staff and mobile terminal. Big data processing and analysis techniques were applied to the proposed platform in order to determine emergency situations in consideration of patient conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes. To quickly determine the patient's emergency situations, edge computing was placed in front of the medical information server so that the edge computing determine patient's situations instead of the medical information server. The medical information server derived emergency situation decision values using the input patient's information and accumulated biometric data, and transmit them to the edge computing to determine patient-customized emergency situation. In conclusion, the proposed medical information platform considers the patient's conditions and determine quick emergency situations through big data processing and edge computing, and enables rapid authentication in emergency situations through automatic authentication, and protects patient's information by granting access rights according to the patient situations and the role of the medical staff.
In this paper, we design an authentication protocol based on Fuzzy Signature Vault Scheme using a light signature feature extraction method for user convenience and efficiency of electronic commerce. The signature is used broadly in electronic commerce because it is one of the simple and low-cost biometric items. However, signature has a problem that there are few low-cost and safe protocols. To solve this problem, we design a feature extraction method which is adequate for characters of signature and Fuzzy Vault Scheme. In addition, we design and analyze an efficient authentication protocol with some parameters used in this procedure. The followings are advantages when this protocol is applied to authentication procedure; 1) using convenient and low-cost signatures, 2) being possible to verify users with spending only about second for signature processing and authentication, 3) one time on transmission for sign-in and verification and 4) getting user authentication with secret value at the same time.

Nowadays, authentication is essential to identify the legal users in a network communication. Usually, there are few wars to achieve authentication over a publicly accessible network system in order to protect certain private data from the unauthorized users, ranging from simple ID/Password to Biometrics System. One of the most active areas in OTP(One Time Password) research today aims at exploiting OTP to provide authentication in the finance and security industry. OTP is usually discarded once it has been used. this prevents huge loophole of traditional authentication system which employs the same ID and Password every time. However this OTP system also has its weaknesses in surviving some attacks. this paper proposes an advanced OTP protocol using PingPong-128 without loop hole of pre-existing OTP.

Recently, Chein et al proposed the ultralightweight strong authentication and strong integrity (SASI)protocol, where the tag requrires only simple bitwise operations. Since the tag does not support random number generator to generate a challenge nonce, an attacker can replay old messages and impersonate reader. However, all of the previous ultralightweight authentication schemes are vlunerable to various attacks: de-synk, eavesdropping, impersonating, tracking, DoS, disclosure etc. we analyze the problems of previous proposed ultrlightweight protocols, to overcome these security problems by using PRNG on the tag. Therefore, in this paper we propose a new lightweight RFID mutual authentication protocol that provides random number generator and bitwise operations, a security and an efficiency of the proposed schme analyze.

In this paper, we propose user authentication methods using a microphone and a speaker in smart phones. The proposed methods guarantee that the user is located close to the target device by transmitting the challenge via an audio channel. We propose two authentication methods; user authentication for a PC or a website using a smart phone as a hardware token, and user authentication to log on to a smart phone using a PC as a token. Because our methods use typical peripheral devices such as a microphone and a speaker, they do not require any special-purpose hardware equipment. In addition, the elderly and the handicapped can easily use our methods because the methods are activated by simple operations.
By employing the subscriber concept in broadcasting services, IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) operators provide various grades of services to subscribers based on the billing level of the subscribers. With the income from subscribers for a basis, IPTV operators plan to provide high quality services. Since Web browser-based IPTV provides T-commerce and E-commerce services as well as television services, users may frequently visit other service domains to buy goods or content. To provide the user with charged or private services, these service domains request authentication of user. The existing authentication system is not appropriate for the IPTV service environment because the environment unavoidably forces the user to cross from one authentication-based service domain to another. Single sign-on provides a user with transparent authentication services by enabling an authenticated user to move between authentication-based service domains without any re-authentication. Like this distributed environment, since the IPTV service environment also provides a variety of authentication-based services, transparent authentication service needs to be provided to subscribers who want to access charged or private services. In this paper, we propose a new user authentication scheme for the IPTV environment. This scheme integrates the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), which is a standard for XML-based single sign on. We validate this scheme using a simple use case scenario.
With the recent establishment of a ubiquitous-based medical and healthcare environment, the medical information system for obtaining situation information from various sensors is increasing. In the medical information system environment based on context-awareness, the patient situation can be determined as normal or emergency using situational information. In addition, medical staff can easily access patient information after simple user authentication using ID and Password through applications on smart devices. However, these services of authentication and patient information access are staff-oriented systems and do not fully consider the ubiquitous-based healthcare information system environment. In this paper, we present a authentication service model based context-awareness system for providing situational information-driven authentication services to users who access medical information, and implemented proposed system. The authentication service model based context-awareness system is a service that recognizes patient situations through sensors and the authentication and authorization of medical staff proceed differently according to patient situations. It was implemented using wearables, biometric data measurement modules, camera sensors, etc. to configure various situational information measurement environments. If the patient situation was emergency situation, the medical information server sent an emergency message to the smart device of the medical staff, and the medical staff that received the emergency message tried to authenticate using the application of the smart device to access the patient information. Once all authentication was completed, medical staff will be given access to high-level medical information and can even checked patient medical information that could not be seen under normal situation. The authentication service model based context-awareness system not only fully considered the ubiquitous medical information system environment, but also enhanced patient-centered systematic security and access transparency.
Molecular authentication and genetic polymorphism of Korean ginseng cultivars and accessions were investigated using ISSR (inter-simple sequence repeat amplification) markers. Five primers among 56 produced clear and reproducible DNA fragments among seven cultivars and accessions. A total of 43 bands ranging from 250 bp to 1,700 bp from five primers were scored. Average number of bands per primer was 8.6 and only nine bands were polymorphic across the six Panax ginseng from Korea. Especially Chunpoong cultivar exhibited the highest level of polymorphism, whereas other accessions did not showed almost any polymorphism. Consequently, these ISSR markers will be available to differentiate Chunpoong cultivar from other major Korean ginseng cultivars and accessions, such as Yunpoong, Hwangsukjong and Jakyungjong, at the DNA level.

In this paper, we propose a multimodal speaker verification method using teeth image and voice as biometric trait for personal verification in mobile terminal equipment. The proposed method obtains the biometric traits using image and sound input devices of smart-phone that is one of mobile terminal equipments, and performs verification with biometric traits. In addition, the proposed method consists the multimodal-fashion of combining two biometric authentication scores for totally performance enhancement, the fusion method is accompanied a weighted-summation method which has comparative simple structure and superior performance for considering limited resources of system. The performance evaluation of proposed multimodal speaker authentication system conducts using a database acquired in smart-phone for 40 subjects. The experimental result shows 8.59% of EER in case of teeth verification 11.73% in case of voice verification and the multimodal speaker authentication result presented the 4.05% of EER. In the experimental result, we obtain the enhanced performance more than each using teeth and voice by using the simple weight-summation method in the multimodal speaker verification system.
