파장 다중 광통신에서의 반도체 광증폭기의 비선형성과 연속파동 레이저가 입사된 반도체 광증폭기의 이득고정 효과 (Nonlinearity of semiconductor optical amplifier and gain-clamping effects of Iaser-injected semiconductor optical amplifier in wavelength division mulitiplexing)

  • 반도체 광 증폭기의 특성을 이해하기 위하여 비율 방정식을 수치 해석적으로 풀었다. 사용된 비율 방정식은 운반자 밀도와 자발 방출된 빛, 그리고 신호 빛을 위치와 시간의 함수로 기술할 수 있다. 사각 파형의 신호가 입사했을 경우에 대하여 위의 세가지 양을 구하여서 반도체 광증포기의 동적인 특성을 파악하였다. 파장 다중 광통신에서처럼 다중신호가 입사하는 경우의 비선형성을 분석하였다. 맥놀이에 의한 내부변조 변형을 계산하여 본 결과 파장 간격이 넓을수록 내부변조 변형은 줄어드는 결과를 정량적으로 얻었으며, 신호간의 채널 간섭은 신호의 세기가 감소하면 줄어드는 결과를 얻었다. 또한 신호로 사용되는 파장에서 충분히 멀리 떨어진 연속파동 레이저가 입사하는 경우에는 채널간의 신호간섭과 출력파형 변형이 감소하는 이득고정 효과가 나타남을 계산을 통하여 확인하였다.

  • 매입형 영구자석 동기 전동기는 높은 효율과 빠른 동특성, 넓은 정출력 운전 영역 등의 장점 때문에 다양한 산업 분야에서 각광을 받고 있다. 특히 매입형 영구자석 동기기의 단위 전류당 최대 토크(Maximum Torque Per Ampere, MTPA) 운전 방법은 전동기의 최대 효율 운전을 위해서 필수적인 운전방법이 되었다. 이론적인 MTPA 운전점은 전동기의 제 정수에 의해 결정되는데, 매입형 영구자석 동기 전동기는 온도와 운전 영역에 따라 전동기 제 정수의 변화가 심하여 정확한 MTPA 운전을 하기 위해서는 전동기의 전 운전 영역에 대한 전동기 제 정수를 미리 알고 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 신호 주입 개념을 도입한 새로운 MTPA 운전 방법을 제안한다. 전류에 높은 주파수의 신호를 주입하여 그 주입된 신호에 의한 반응을 확인함으로 MTPA 운전점을 판별하게 된다. 이 방법은 전동기 제 정수 변동에 강인하며, 간단한 신호처리 과정을 통하여 MTPA 운전을 할 수 있다.

마이크로 제트엔진 배기플룸 주위 물 분사에 따른 장파장 적외선 신호특성 연구 (Study on the Characteristics of Long Wave Infrared Signal by Water Injection around the Exhaust Plume of the Micro-jet Engine)

  • 배기플룸 주위에 물을 분사할 경우 배기플룸에서 방출되는 장파장 적외선에 대한 특성을 알기 위하여 실험적인 방법으로 연구를 수행하였다. 배기플룸을 생성하기 위하여 마이크로 제트엔진을 사용하였으며, 배기노즐 주위에 8개의 물 분사노즐을 배치하였다. 물을 배기플룸과 평행하게 분사하여 배기플룸을 감싸거나, 또는 배기플룸 내에 물을 분사하는 두 가지 분사각도를 적용하였다. 장파장 적외선 신호 측정결과 물을 배기플룸과 평행하게 분사할 경우 물 분사유량에 따라 적외선 신호는 감소되었다. 배기플룸 내에 물을 분사할 경우, 적외선 신호는 배기플룸만 분사하는 경우보다 오히려 큰 값을 나타내는 것으로 측정되었다.

  • 레이다에서 위상측정을 위해서는 송신신호의 위상에 동기된 안정된 신호를 발생하는 코히어런트 발진기(Coherent Oscillator, COHO)가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 마그네트론에서 발생하는 송신 펄스 신호에 위상동기된 60 MHz의 안정된 신호를 발생하는 COHO Unit를 개발하였다. 송신 펄스의 일부분을 이용하여 ILO(Injection Locking Oscillator)에서 송신펄스에 위상동기된 신호를 발생한다. 게이트 회로, ILO, 완충증폭기, 펄스발생기 등으로 구성된 레이다 COHO를 설계, 제작하여 성능을 검증하였다.

사출성형에서 공정 중 금형의 진동 크기 변화를 활용한 냉각시간 모니터링에 대한 연구 (A study on the monitoring of cooling time using the change in the magnitude of mold vibration in injection molding)

  • In this study, during the injection molding process, a device was manufactured and evaluated that calculates a cooling time by measuring a vibration signal generated from a mold using an acceleration. The last two parts, one of which has a large magnitude change in the measured vibration signal of a mold, were divided into a cooling start section (paking end section) and a mold opening section, and the time difference at the relevant points was calculated as the cooling time. The cooling time was monitored on a 5-inch light guide plate mold by applying the method. The manufactured device was attached to a fixed base of mold to measure the cooling time, and data was obtained remotely using Bluetooth technology. Then, the measured cooling time was compared with the cooling time set in the injection molding machine to evaluate the accuracy. As a result of the experiment, the cooling times measured by the devices were 15.675±0.024 sec, 20.637±0.014 sec and 25.623±0.079 sec of each conditions. Also, the measurement results were shown with errors of 0.655±0.044 sec, 0.637±0.014 sec, and 0.662±0.013 sec, respectively.

전자식 가솔린 엔진의 조절 방법에 관한 연구 (A study of electronic gasoline engine control technique)

  • The control technique for an electronic engine is studied. For this study an IBM-PC and a throttle body fuel injection system are selected. The computer controls fuel injection, spark timing, exhaust gas recirculation and idle speed. Fuel injection is adjusted either by a feed back signal of a zirconia $O_{2}$ sensor or programmed logic for starting, deceleration, warm ing up and idle modes. When a 3-way catalytic converter is used with the electronic engine control system, CO, THC, and NOx were reduced more than 90% simultaneously.

연료분사정보 표시장치를 통한 자동차 연비향상 효과에 대한 실험적 연구 (A Study on Reduction of Fuel Consumption by Displaying Fuel Injection Data for Drivers)

  • The reduction rate of fuel consumption by showing the fuel injection data for driver was measured in this study. The fuel injection data are composed of injection period, real time fuel economy and average fuel economy. The fuel consumption was measured by processing the voltage signal of injector and driven distance by GPS sensor. The fuel consumption was reduced by driving more carefully, i.e driving more steady without sudden acceleration and deceleration watching these fuel injection data. The reduction rate was up to 37% and the rate increased as the driver is customed to this driving pattern.

Amplitude Modulation Response and Linearity Improvement of Directly Modulated Lasers Using Ultra-Strong Injection-Locked Gain-Lever Distributed Bragg Reflector Lasers

  • Directly modulated fiber-optic links generally suffer higher link loss and larger signal distortion than externally modulated links. These result from the electron-photon conversion loss and laser modulation dynamics. As a method to overcome the drawbacks, we have experimentally demonstrated the RF performance of directly modulated, ultra-strong injection-locked gain-lever distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) lasers. The free-running DBR lasers exhibit an improved amplitude modulation efficiency of 12.4 dB under gain-lever modulation at the expense of linearity. By combining gain-lever modulation with ultra-strong optical injection locking, we can gain the benefits of both improved modulation efficiency from the gain-lever effect, plus improved linearity from injection locking. Using an injection ratio of R=11 dB, a 23.4-dB improvement in amplitude response and an 18-dB improvement in spurious-free dynamic range have been achieved.

  • There are two types of electric controlled fuel injection system in the gasoline engines of common vehicles. One is fuel return system and the other is fuel returnless system according to the methods of controlling injection pressures. It is important to understand the characteristics of these system in loaming and studying of engine, but it is very difficult without a special equipment in reality. The purpose of this paper is to develop the emulation system that can be compensated with the amount of injection fuel according to various driving conditions, battery voltage, cooling water temperature, and engine speed, may be appeared in real driving, and especially can analyze the difference between the electric signal controlling the amount of injection fuel and its result, and nullity injection duration. With the developed system, we can conveniently set various and completed driving condition and so can acquire the useful information such as non-uniformity rate and mass of injection fuel using waveform analysis and measurement modules. It must be a very useful and sophisticated system to instruct and learn the features and operating states of injection system, and to study f3r improving the performance of it.

Effect of Calmodulin on Ginseng Saponin-Induced $Ca^{2+}$-Activated $Cl^{-}$ Channel Activation in Xenopus laevis Oocytes

  • We previously demonstrated the ability of ginseng saponins (active ingredients of Panax ginseng) to enhance $Ca^{2+}$-activated $Cl^{-}$ current. The mechanism for this ginseng saponin-induced enhancement was proposed to be the release of $Ca^{2+}$ from $IP_{3}-sensitive$ intracellular stores through the activation of PTX-insensitive $G\alpha_{q/11}$ proteins and PLC pathway. Recent studies have shown that calmodulin (CaM) regulates $IP_{3}$ receptor-mediated $Ca^{2+}$ release in both $Ca^{2+}-dependent$ and -independent manner. In the present study, we have investigated the effects of CaM on ginseng saponin-induced $Ca^{2+}$-activated $Cl^{-}$ current responses in Xenopus oocytes. Intraoocyte injection of CaM inhibited ginseng saponin-induced $Ca^{2+}$-activated $Cl^{-}$ current enhancement, whereas co-injection of calmidazolium, a CaM antagonist, with CaM blocked CaM action. The inhibitory effect of CaM on ginseng saponin-induced $Ca^{2+}$-activated $Cl^{-}$ current enhancement was dose- and time-dependent, with an $IC_{50} of 14.9\pm3.5 {\mu}M$. The inhibitory effect of CaM on saponin's activity was maximal after 6 h of intraoocyte injection of CaM, and after 48 h the activity of saponin recovered to control level. The half-recovery time was calculated to be $16.7\pm4.3 h$. Intraoocyte injection of CaM inhibited $Ca^{2+}$-induced $Ca^{2+}$-activated $Cl^{-}$ current enhancement and also attenuated $IP_{3}$-induced $Ca^{2+}$-activated $Cl^{-}$ current enhancement. $Ca^{2+}$/CaM kinase II inhibitor did not inhibit CaM-caused attenuation of ginseng saponin-induced $Ca^{2+}$-activated $Cl^{-}$ current enhancement. These results suggest that CaM regulates ginseng saponin effect on $Ca^{2+}$-activated $Cl^{-}$ current enhancement via $Ca^{2+}$-independent manner.
