  • For RF sensitivity enhancement, the previous assisted GPS acquisition architecture adopts not only the coherent integration technique but also the non-coherent integration technique since the long coherent integration time increases the number of the frequency search cells. But the non-coherent integration technique induces the squaring loss, which is the dominant factor among the acquisition losses of assisted GPS dealing with weak GPS signals. This paper proposes an efficient architecture for weak signal acquisition in assisted GPS. In this paper, it is explained that the proposed architecture reduces the squaring loss using a modified non-coherent integration technique. Furthermore, it is..

  • This paper describes target detection performance of millimeter wave radar that exits on non-stationary target detection schemes in the ground clutter conditions. The comparison of various CFAR process schemes such as CA(Cell-Average)-CFAR, GO(Greatest Of)/SO(Smallest Of)-CFAR, and OS(Order Statistics)-CFAR performance are applied. Using matlab software, we show the performance and loss between target detection probability and signal to noise ratio. This paper concludes the OS-CFAR process performance is better than any others and satisfies the optimal detection probability without loss of detection in the homogeneous clutter, When range bins increase.

  • In this paper, the error sidelobe level and signal to noise loss from the numerical analysis using the modelling of quadrature coherent detector in the case that the channel imbalance and with local oscillator leakage is considered. From the numerical results, the error sidelobe level and signal to noise loss that with the gain and phase imbalance(0.8(dB)J5(dog)) is (-21.322[dB], -0.0071[dB]), (-11.6839[dB], -0.0059[dB]) in the case that the channel imbalance and with local oscillator leakage is considered.

  • Recently, a countermeasure for the electromagnetic noise emission on RF integrated transmission line using the loss generation of ferromagnetic thin films is briefly suggested$\^$1,2/. Without the magnetic film, the noise harmonics of the signal pass through the transmission line with only a little attenuation. The ideal role of magnetic film is not to raise insertion losses in the pass-band and to give as large attenuation as possible to eliminate the noise harmonics at the stop-band, the frequency range higher than the meaningful signal as shown in Fig. 1. and Fig. 2. • In parameter design, Taguchi's stated objective is to find the setting of product or process design parameters that minimize average quadratic loss-that is, the average squared deviation of the response from its target value. Yet in practice to choose the settings of design parameters he maximizeds a set of measures called signal-to-noise(SN) ratios. In general, Taguchi gave no justification for the use the SN ratios and no explanation of why the two-step procedure that he recommened will minimize average loss. The purpose of this study is comparing and analyzing of performance statistics by Leon et al(PerMIA), Box(Transformation theory), Vining & Myers(Dual Response Systems) and Taguchi(Signal-to-Noise ratios).

  • An error-compensated pulse width modulator (ECPWM) is proposed to improve the baseband harmonic performance and the switching loss of voltage source inverters (VSIs). Selecting between harmonic distortion and switching loss is a design tradeoff in the conventional space vector pulse width modulation. In this work, an accumulated difference in produced and desired phase voltages is considered to adjust the reference signal. This mechanism can compensate for the voltage error in the previous carrier period. With error compensation every half-carrier period, the proposed ECPWM allows one-half reduction in carrier frequency without scarifying baseband harmonic distortion. The proposed modulator is applied to a three-phase VSI with R-L load and a motor-speed-control system for experiments. The measured efficiency and operating temperature of switches confirm the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • This paper presents a single-pole eight-throw(SP8T) switch based on proposed a radio-frequency(RF) microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) switches. The proposed switch was driven by a double stop(DS) comb drive, with a lateral resistive contact. Additionally, the proposed switch was designed to have tapered signal line and bi-directionally actuated. A forward actuation connects between signal lines and contact part, and the output becomes on-state. A reverse actuation connects between ground lines and contact part, and the output becomes off-state. The SP8T switch of 3-stage tree topology was developed based on an arrangement of the proposed RF MEMS switches. The developed SP8T switch had an actuation voltage of 12 V, an insertion loss of 1.3 dB, a return loss of 15.1 dB, and an isolation of 31.4 dB at 6 GHz.

  • This paper proposes a hybrid single carrier sinusoidal modulation suitable for multiphase multilevel inverters. Multiphase multilevel inverters are controlled by hybrid modulation to provide multiphase variable voltage and a variable frequency supply. The proposed modulation combines the benefits of fundamental frequency modulation and single carrier sinusoidal modulation (SC-SPWM) strategies. The main characteristics of hybrid modulation are a reduction in switching losses and improved harmonic performance. The proposed algorithm can be applied to cascaded multilevel inverter topologies. It has low computational complexity and it is suitable for hardware implementations. SC-SPWM and its base modulation design are implemented on a TMS320F2407 digital signal processor (DSP). A Complex Programmable Logic Device realizes the hybrid PWM algorithm and it is integrated with a DSP processor for hybrid SC-SPWM generation. The feasibility of this hybrid modulation is verified by spectral analysis, power loss analysis, simulation and experimental results.

  • In modern society, people live in an environment with artificial or natural noise. Especially, the sound that corresponds to the artificial noise makes the noise itself and affects each other because many people live and work in the city. Sounds are generated by the activities and causes of various people, such as construction sites, aircraft, production machinery, or road traffic. These sounds are essential elements in human life and are recognized and judged by human auditory organs. Noise is a sound that you do not want to hear by subjective evaluation, and it is a loud sound that gives hearing damage or a sound that causes physical and mental harm. In this study, we introduce the method of stimulating the human hearing by finger vibration and explain the advantages of the proposed method in various kinds of a noise environment. And how to improve the sound quality to improve efficiency. In this paper, we propose a method to prevent the loss of hearing loss and the transmission of sound information based on proper signal to noise ratio when using portable IT equipment in various noise environments.
