광대역 디지털 수신기 동적 범위 확장을 위한 A/D 변환모듈 연구 (A/D Conversion Module for Dynamic Range Expansion of Wideband Digital Receiver)

  • 본 논문은 광대역 디지털 수신기의 동적 범위 개선을 위한 A/D 변환 모듈을 설계 및 제작하였다. 동적 범위 확장을 위한 A/D 변환 모듈은 입력신호 레벨에 따라 정상 경로와 증폭 경로로 신호를 분기하여 디지털 신호로 변환하는 방식이다. 제작 및 측정 결과, A/D 변환 모듈의 정상 경로는 입력 레벨 -57 dBm~-12 dBm 신호를 디지털 신호로 변환하고, 증폭 경로는 입력 레벨 -30 dBm~+12 dBm 신호를 왜곡 없이 디지털 신호로 변환하여 69 dB의 입력 동적 범위 특성을 나타내었다. 또한 순시 대역폭 100 MHz에서 일정한 출력 특성을 나타내고 있음을 확인하였다.

  • This paper introduces the multi-coil eddy current sensor and its characteristic in magnetic material gas turbine rotor. In the past, magnetic particle inspection method was used for qualitative defect evaluation in magnetic material gas turbine rotor. And the ultrasonic inspection method was used for quantitative defect evaluation. Nowadays, eddy current method is used in magnetic gas turbine rotor inspection due to advanced sensor design technology. We developed multi-coil eddy current sensor for the rotor dovetail inspection. At first, rotor stress is analyzed for the determination of sensor position and number. The sensor coils are designed to cover the stress concentration area of rotor dovetail. We select optimum frequency according to material standard penetration data and experiment results. The rotor mock-up and artificial defects were made for the signal detection and resolution analysis of multi-coil eddy current sensor. The results show that signal detection and resolution capabilities are enhanced in comparison to the commercialized sensor enough for the gas turbine rotor inspection. So, this developed multi-coil eddy current sensor substituted for commercialized one and it applied in real gas turbine rotor inspection.

볼트 홀 결함 평가용 와전류 센서 설계제작 및 특성분석 (The Design & Manufacture and Characteristic Analysis of Eddy Current Sensor for Bolt Hole Defect Evaluation)

  • This paper introduces the special eddy current sensor and its characteristic for bolt hole defect evaluation in gas turbine rotor. In the past, Fluorescent penetration inspection method was used for qualitative defect evaluation in gas turbine rotor bolt hole. This method can defect the bolt hole defect but can not evaluate the defect size. Nowadays, eddy current method is used quantitative defect evaluation due to advanced sensor design technology. And eddy current method is more time and cost saving than the old method. We developed bolt shape eddy current sensor for the rotor bolt hole defect detection and evaluation. The eddy current sensor moves to the bolt hole guided by screw nut and detects the defect on the bolt hole. The bolt hole mock-up and artificial defects were made and used for the signal detection & resolution analysis of eddy current sensor. The results show that signal detection capability is enough to detect 0.2 mm depth defect. And the resolution capability is enough to differentiate 02, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mm depth defect.

  • Comparing to the conventional adaptive filters using LMS algorithm, the proposed adaptive filters can reduce the amounts of computation and have robustness to variance of characteristics of input signals. LMS algorithm is performed in the domain of Hadamard transform after a reference signal and input signal are transformed by fast Hadamard transformation. As a transformation from time domain to Hadamard transformed domain, the proposed filter not only maintains the performance of estimating an input signal but also greatly reduces the number of multiplication. Moreover, the effect of characteristic changes of input signal is decreased. Computer simulation shows the stability and robustness of the proposed filter.

임피던스 변환회로의 신호 전달특성(S21) 측정 방법 (Measurement method of the signal transfer characteristic(S21) of the impedance transformer)

  • 임피던스 변환회로의 신호 전달특성(S21)을 측정하기 위해서는 두 개의 임피던스 변환회로를 대칭 연결하여야 한다. 하지만 두 개의 임피던스 변환회로를 대칭 연결한 회로의 신호 전달특성은 중간 연결 선로의 길이에 의해 영향을 받는다. 본 논문에서는 임피던스 변화회로의 정확한 신호 전달특성을 얻기 위한 중간 연결 선로의 길이를 수식으로 유도하였다. 수식을 이용하여 계산하면 4:1(50-Ω:12.5-Ω) 임피던스 변환회로의 정확한 신호 전달특성을 얻기 위한 중간 연결 선로의 전기적 길이는 약 45°이다. 계산된 연결 선로의 길이를 적용하여 1GHz에서 λ/4-마이크로스트립 임피던스 변환회로를 제작하여 신호 전달특성을 측정하였다. 제작된 대칭 연결된 임피던스 변환회로의 신호 반사 특성(S11)은 0.980GHz에서 -40.64dB, 신호 전달 특성(S21)은 -0.154dB였다. 이는 제작 회로에 대해 이론적으로 살펴본 중심 주파수의 987MHz 변화, 마이크로스트립 선로의 신호 손실 -0.15dB 값과 거의 동일한 값이다.

새롭게 수정된 Curtice 모델을 이용한 GaAs pHEMT 대신호 통합모델 구축 (Large Signal Unified Model for GaAs pHEMT using Modified Curtice Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 GEC-Marconi 사의 H40 GaAs pHEMT 소자에 대해서 새롭게 수정한 Curtice 모델을 사용하여 대신호 통합모델을 구축하였다. 통합모델에는 DC 특성과 biss에 따른 소신호 및 잡음 특성이 모두 포함되어 있으며, 특히 수정되 Curtice 모델을 사용함으로써 gate-source 간의 전압이 증가함에 따라 나타나는 pHEMT 의 transconductance(이하 $g_{m}$) 특성을 매우 간단하면서도 물리적으로 설명할 수 있게 하였다. 또한 통합모델 내부에는 RF-choke를 사용함으로써 $g_{m}$, $R_{ds}$ 성분의 DC 상태와 AC 상태에서의 차이를 설명하게 하였다. 통합모델을 HP사의 simulation tool 인 MDS(Microwave Design System)의 SDD(Symbolically Defined Device)를 이용하여 구현한 후, 실제의 data와 비교한 결과 DC, small signal, 그리고 noise 에 대한 특성에 H40 pHEMT 와 대부분 일치함을 보았으며, 선형과 다양한 harmonic balance simulation 의 수렴성 및 정확성을 확인함으로써 본 모델을 이용한 경우 저잡음 증폭기, 발진기, 그리고 혼합기 등의 여러 부품설계를 할 수 있음을 보였다.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the signal distortion incorporating meander-shaped transmission line on PCB in broadband frequency range, up to 50GHz. This broadband characteristic provides reasonable analysis of digital pulse having very short rising time. Simulation results reveal suppression characteristic at multiband which is dependent on only the width of meander arm. This width of arm also can be adjusted using different permittivity because it provides different effective wave-length. It is found that the suppression characteristic shows sharpness with as a function of the number of arms. However, these characteristics shown limitation for microstrip line structure rather than for stripline structure, so we can avoid these unwanted phenomena using stripline structure.

  • Dynamic characteristic of CD/DVD deck for vehicle is analyzed in this paper. Generally CD/DVD deck for vehicle is used from inferior environment with the vibration of the vehicle and shock of outside and so on. Therefore it must have the structure which is stabilized from the vibration to prevent read error. For this purpose, vibration characteristic of the deck for vehicle should be identified. To analyze characteristic of the deck system, we perform the signal analysis and modal testing using the FFT analyzer. Also we change the design factor degrading the performance of the deck system and verify the efficiency improvement using the acceleration measurement occurring to the sound discontinuation.

Systematic Isotropy Analysis of Caster Wheeled Mobile Robot with Steering Link Offset Different from Wheel Radius

  • This paper presents the systematic isotropy analysis of a fully actuated caster wheeled omnidirectional mobile robot (COMR) with the steering link offset different from the wheel radius, which can be considered as the generalization of the previous analysis. First with the characteristic length introduced, the kinematic model of a COMR is obtained based on the orthogonal decomposition of the wheel velocities. Second, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the isotropy of a COMR are derived and examined to categorize there different groups, each of which can be dealt with in a similar way. Third, for each group, the isotropy conditions are further explored so as to identify four different sets of all possible isotropic configurations. Fourth, for each set the expressions of the isotropic characteristic length required for the isotropy of a COMR are elaborated.

  • In this paper, the polyphase filter which has good ripple characteristic in the passband is proposed. This filter consists of the digital all-pass filter of parallel structure and it is the half-band filter with all zeros in unit circle. To approach easily in designing hardware, we determined the coefficients to the 16bit 1.15 format. To evaluate the performance of this filter, we analyzed the phase characteristic in each branch and simulated each filter with small coefficients. From the result, we have got to good ripple characteristic and also analyzed the fifth and the seventh, and compared them with four part : ripple, group delay, transition bandwidth, stopband attenuation.
