Clinical Study on the Correlation between Retention of Fluid, namely Damum(痰飮) and Dark Circles under Eyes (다크 서클(Dark Circles under Eyes)과 담음(痰飮)의 연관성에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate correlation of the phlegm-retained fluid, namely Damum(痰飮) and dark circles under eyes. Methods: 2 males and 11 females aged 26-60 years were participated in this study. They were asked the intensity of 29 symptoms related with Damum(痰飮) including dark circle with the questionnaire published by the Journal of the Korea Institute of Oriental Medical Diagnostics. Three skin researchers including OMD graded the dark circles by inspection. We took the pictures around eyes by Facial Stage (Moritex, Japan) and analyzed the skin color by Image-Pro Plus (Media Cybernetics, USA). Results: There was statistically significant correlation between Damum(痰飮) and dark circles measured by self, inspectors and image analysis. Conclusions: In the Oriental Medicine, It is reported that the shadows under eyes are the sign of the retention of fluid, Damum(痰飮). In our study, that shadows, namely dark circles, has correlation with the symptoms of Damum(痰飮). Especially, the correlation between inspected grade and image analysis was very high. According to the above results, it is proved that dark circles under eyes are important diagnostic sign of Damum(痰飮).

  • When an image with spot noise is smoothed by smoothing filters, the noise is almost eliminated However, the image is blurred. The algorithm that reduces such an image blurring is proposed in this paper. In the algorithm, the difference between noisy image and median filtered noisy image is smoothed. As the re-smoothing method, the absolute value of the difference is median filtered and the sign of the difference is affixed on the result. It is shown that the proposed algorithm is quite effective for noise elimination and also for image blurring decrease at the same time. In this paper, the algorithm is compared with the other smoothing methods.

  • In this paper several basic techniques for signal processing and analysis are surveyed. Firstly by the intervention of the uncertainty principle, an equality sign may have different degree of precision if non commutable operators are applied. Seconds y maximum entropy estimate and randam process based viewpoint must be enhanced to get rid of the well established and reigning deterministic image of science. Thirdly techniques for the analysis of a signal namely detection. ess]motion and modulation are explained as well as the positive definiteness of a covariance function, Karhunen-Loeve expansion and SVD of an image.

  • With the increasing use of multimedia technologies, image compression requires higher performance as well as new functionality. Specially, in the specific area of still image encoding, a new standard, JPEG2000 was developed. This paper proposed Set Partitioning Sorting Algorithm that uses a method to optimized selection of threshold from feature of wavelet transform coefficients and to removes sign bit in LL area on JPEG2000. Experimental results show the proposed algorithm achieves more improved bit rate.

Edge Enhanced Error Diffusion based on Gradient Shaping of Original Image (원영상의 기울기 성형을 이용한 경계강조 오차확산법)

  • The error diffusion algorithm is good for reproducing continuous images to binary images. However the reproduction of edge characteristics is weak in power spectrum an analysis of display error. In this paper an edge enhanced error diffusion method is proposed to improve the edge characteristic enhancement. Spatial gradient information in original image is adapted for edge enhance in threshold modulation of error diffusion. First the horizontal and vertical second order differential values are obtained from the gradient of peripheral pixels(3x3) in original image. second weighting function is composed by function including absolute value and sign of second order differential values. The proposed method presents a good visual results which edge characteristics is enhanced. The performance of the proposed method is compared with that of the conventional edge enhanced error diffusion by measuring the edge correlation and the local average accordance over a range of viewing distances and the RAPSD of display error.

  • This paper presents an image enhancement method in real road traffic scenes. The images captured by the camera on the car cannot keep the color constancy as illumination or weather changes. In the real environment, these problems are more worse at back light conditions and at night that make more difficult to the applications of the vision-based intelligent vehicles. Using the existing image enhancement methods without considering the position and intensity of the light source and their geometric relations the image quality can even be deteriorated. Thus, this paper presents a fast and effective method for image enhancement resembling human cognitive system which consists of 1) image preprocessing, 2) color-contrast evaluation, 3) alpha blending of over/under estimated image and preprocessed image. An input image is first preprocessed by gamma correction, and then enhanced by an Automatic Color Enhancement(ACE) method. Finally, the preprocessed image and the ACE image are blended to improve image visibility. The proposed method shows drastically enhanced results visually, and improves the performance in traffic sign detection of the vision based intelligent vehicle applications.

  • The renewal cycle, which newly decorates stores, has been shortened, as the marketing competition between telecommunication companies has been extended to the stores, due to the rapid increase of mobile phone users and fast replacement cycle of products. The store renewal made by major telecommunication companies, including signboard, has been pushed in order for telecommunication companies to give strong impression about their own brand identity to consumers. Consumers want stores not only to sell cheap and high quality products but also to provide customer experience, by which customers can feel store, product and service and accept them. Especially, since the competition between telecommunication companies is getting tough, it is the current trend that the number of stores is increasing much, and telecommunication companies are recently renewing their stores, with the concept of SI(Store Identity), which changes store image into the incorporated image including interior and exterior, rather than just replacing CI(Corporate Identity), when they renew stores. It can be said that SI(Store Identity) is an important factor, by which companies consistently design visual factors such as interior and sign, and then apply them to the interior and exterior of the stores, and thereby give good store image to consumers, and ultimately have great effect on the increase of sales volume. This kind of activity can be image-controlled by companies' Identity Management, and it can be a very important factor in terms of marketing. In this study, it has an objective to compare and analyze SI of domestic telecommunication companies and foreign telecommunication companies, and then suggest effective SI direction.

  • 본 논문은 연속적인 수화 동영상에 있어서 가장 의미가 있는 손 영역을 검출하는 방법에 대한 연구이다. 부자연스러운 센서 등을 피하고 사용자 친화성과 범용성 및 실시간 구현을 도모하기 위하여 흑백 동영상의 처리가 요구된다. 농아자의 수화를 인식하기 위해 전철로서, 복잡한 배경으로부터 손 영역의 검출은 매우 중요하다. 정확한 손 영역의 검출로 수화 인식률의 개선과 영상처리의 고속화가 가능하다. 제안한 방법은 인접한 프레임간의 차 영상에 대하여 엔트로피를 측정하여 배경영상과 분리를 행한 후, 손 영역에 대한 추적을 수행하였다.

  • It is definitely an interesting job to work with V4 to create various contents emphasizing different interfaces like 3D graphics, and multimedia such as video, audio, and camera. Moreover, beyond the other interface, as it could be used in the many aspects of the sensory sign such as visual effects, auditory effects, and touchable effects, it feels free to make a better developed model. We intended the users to feel some kind of pleasure and interactions rather than just using in aspect of Media art.
