채널 형상에 따른 마이크로채널 판형 열교환기 열전달 성능 향상에 관한 수치 연구 (Numerical Study of Heat Transfer Enhancement on Microchannel Plate Heat Exchanger with Channel Shape)

  • In this study, the microchannel plated heat exchanger were numerically studied for the enhancement of heat transfer in the channel configuration. Unit cold and hot fluid region with the microchannel were modeled and periodic boundary condition at the side wall was applied to continuously repeating geometry. The material of micro-structured plate is STS304 and working fluid is water. Triangular obstacles were placed in micro channel to enhance heat transfer. The performance of microchannel plated heat exchangers were numerically investigated with various obstacle configuration and Reynolds number under the parallel and counter flows. Heat transfer rate has increased about 18% compared with straight channel, but pressure drop also increased about 3.5 times. The main factor of increasing of pressure drop and heat transfer rate is considered that the momentum was lost to collide against obstacles, generation of secondary flow and boundary layer separation, wake and vortex forming phenomena.

  • We analyze mathematically a VSB (vestigial side-band) transceiver system for the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) digital television standard and extract a near-baseband equivalent VSB channel model. This model shows the multi-path fading effect of the quadrature component on the in-phase component. Also, we obtain a simplified model of the VSB transceiver system, which is represented by convolution of the transmission signal (before modulation) and the VSB channel. This simplified model is efficiently used for simulation of VSB systems to improve its performances, especially in an equalization part. Applying the DTV channel specifications tested by the Advanced Television Test Conter (ATTC) to the channel model, we obtain an equivalent VSB channel and show the equalization result by using the conventional derision-feedback equalize (DFE).

미세유체소자를 이용한 간단하고 효율적인 액적의 병합 (Simple and Highly Efficient Droplet Merging Method Using a Microfluidic Device)

  • Simple and highly efficient droplet merging method is proposed, which enables two nanoliter or picoliter droplets to merge regularly in a straight microchannel. Using a cross channel with inflows of one oil phase through the main channel and two water phases through the side channels, two droplets of different sizes can be generated alternatingly in accordance with flow rate difference of the water phases. It is shown that for a fixed oil phase flow rate, the flow rate of one water phase required for alternating droplet generation increases linearly with the flow rate of another water phase. By this method, the droplets are merged with 100 % efficiency without any additional driving forces.

원심다단펌프용 디퓨저-리턴채널의 유동특성 (Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Vaned-Diffuser and Return-Channel for a Multistage Centrifugal Pump)

  • This paper presents the steady-state performance analysis of the first stage of a multistage centrifugal pump, composed of a shrouded-impeller, a vaned-diffuser and a return-channel, using the commercially available computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, ANSYS CFX. The detailed flow fields in the vaned-diffuser with outlet in its side wall and the return-channel are investigated by the CFD code adopted in the present study. The effect of the vaned-diffuser with a downstream crossover bend and the corresponding return-channel on the overall hydrodynamic performance of the first stage pump has also been demonstrated over the normal operating conditions. The predicted hydrodynamics for the diffusing components herein could provide useful information to match the inlet blade angle of the next stage impeller for improving the multistage pump performances.

  • The electrical activities of masseter muscle were recorded on 9 subjects with unilateral fracture of mandible. The electromyographic studies were executed with 2 channel RS dynograph recorder for electromyography. The graphs were recorded in the physiologic rest position, incisal occlusion, molar occlusion, left lateral excursion, right lateral excursion, and protraction. The following conclusions were drawn; 1. In the physiologic rest position, incisal occlusion, molar occlusion, and protraction, the electrical potentials of the masseter muscle were greater in the affected side. 2. In the right lateral excursion, the electrical potentials of the masseter muscle were greater in the right side, and in the left lateral excursion, greather in the left side. There is no correlation mutually between the affected side and unaffected side.

  • Since many efficient algorithms for implementing pairings have been proposed such as ${\eta}_T$ pairing and the Ate pairing, pairings could be used in constraint devices such as smart cards. However, the secure implementation of pairings has not been thoroughly investigated. In this paper, we investigate the security of ${\eta}_T$ pairing over binary fields in the context of side-channel attacks. We propose efficient and secure ${\eta}_T$ pairing algorithms using randomized projective coordinate systems for computing the pairing.

  • For implementation of Cryptographic algorithms, security against implementation attacks such as side-channel attacks as well as the speed and the size of the circuit is important. Power Analysis attacks are powerful techniques of side-channel attacks to exploit secret information of crypto-processors. In this thesis the FPGA implementation of versatile elliptic crypto-processor is described. Explain the analysis of power consumption of ALTERA FPGA(FLEX10KE) that is used in our hand made board. Conclusively this thesis presents clear proof that implementations of Elliptic Curve Crypto-systems are vulnerable to Differential Power Analysis attacks as well as Simple Power Analysis attacks.

  • This paper describes a buried-island SOI MOSFET structure which can reduce the edge channel effect by improving the interface properties at the side wall of active island and by reducing the strength of electric field applied at the upper corner of the side wall from the gate. Also, the buried-island SOl structure can obtain the uniform thickness of SOl film. The buried-island structure can be achieved by Zone- Melting-Recrystallization of polysilicon and polishing. Both simulated and experimental results show that the buried-island SOl NMOSFET has less edge channel effect than the conventional SOl NMOSFET using LOCOS or mesa isolation technique.

  • The RSA cryptosystem is most commonly used for providing privacy and ensuring authenticity of digital data. 1'his system is based on the difficulty of integer factoring. Many attacks had been done, but none of them devastating. They mostly illustrate the dangers of improper use of RSA. Improper use implies many aspects, but here we imply the misuse of the parameters of RSA. Specially, sizes of parameters give strong effects on the efficiency and the security of the system. Parameters are also related each other. We analyze the relation of them. Recently many researchers are interested in side-channel attacks. We also investigate partial key exposure attacks, which was motivated by side-channel attacks. If a fraction of tile secret key bits is revealed, the private key will be reconstructed. We also study mathematical background of these attacks, solving modular multivariate polynomial equations.
