Hole-Array and Pillar-Array Patterned Si Solar Cells

  • Periodically shaped pillar-arrays and hole-arrays were fabricated on a Si wafer. Geometric features are similar in a periodic length of 4 ${\mu}m$ and a depth of 2 ${\mu}m$. For the hole-array patterns, positive PR processes were performed. UV exposed PR patterns were removed during a developing process to leave shapes of inversely replicated from a glass photomask. Meanwhile, negative PR processes were taken for the pillar-array patterns. UV exposed PR patterns were remained on a Si substrate having a same feature of patterns of a glass photomask. For an electrical aspect, a pillar structure has a short carrier-collection length resulting in the improved open-circuit voltage of 609 mV from 587 mV of a planar device. An improved performance may be achieved to reduce recombination loss along the patterning surface.

Comparison of Two Methods for Measuring Daily Path Lengths in Arboreal Primates

  • Researchers have used a variety of methods to measure patterns of animal movement, including the use of spatial data (mapping the position of a moving animal at specified intervals) and direct estimation of travel path length by pacing under a moving animal or group. I collected movement data from five groups of siamangs (Symphalangus syndactylus) using two different methods concurrently to estimate the effects of the method of data collection on estimates of daily path length (DPL). Estimates of DPL produced from spatial data collected at 15-minute intervals were 12% lower than estimates of DPL produced by pacing under the traveling animal. The actual magnitude of the difference was correlated with the travel distance, but there was no correlation between the proportional difference and the travel distance. While the collection of spatial data is generally preferable, as spatial data permit additional analyses of patterns of movements in two or three dimensions, the relatively small difference between the DPL's produced using different methods suggests that pacing is an acceptable substitute where the collection of spatial data is impractical. I also subsampled the spatial data at increasing time intervals to assess the effect of sampling interval on the calculation of daily path lengths. Longer sampling intervals produced significantly shorter estimates of travel paths than shorter sampling intervals. These results suggest that spatial data should be collected at short time intervals wherever possible, and that sampling intervals should not exceed 30 minutes. Researchers should be cautious when comparing data generated using different methods.

한국 재래 적미 수집 및 특성 검정 II. 수량구성요소, 간장 및 수장 (Collection and Evaluation of Korean Red Rices II. Yield Component, Clum and Panicle Length)

  • 벼의 기원지 아닌 우리나라에서도 재배도와 형태적으로 유사한 적미가 준야성의 장태로 잔존하므로 전국에서 이들을 1,113계통 수집하여 유용 유전 자원으로서의 활용성을 탐색하고자 853계통에 대하여 수량구성요소, 간장 및 수장을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 장ㆍ단립형 적미는 수수는 각각 평균 21.5, 11.8로서 장립형적미가 약 2배 많았다. 2. 장ㆍ단립형 적미의 이삭당영화수는 각각 평균 86.1, 108.7로서 단립형 적미가 많았다. 3. 장ㆍ단립형 적미의 천립중은 각각 20.1g, 20.2g 임실율은 80.4%, 79.4%로서 군간에는 유의차가 없었으며 재배도의 소립종과 비슷한 천립중을 나타내었다. 4. 장ㆍ단립형 적미의 간장은 평균 102.6%cm, 94.8%cm로서 장립형적미가 컸고 양군간에 고도의 유의차가 인정되었다. 5. 장ㆍ단립형 적미의 수장은 각각 평균 22.1cm, 21.3cm로서 양군간에 유의차가 없었다.

일지역 여성노인의 우울과 인지기능의 관계에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship between Depression and Cognition in the Community Female Aged)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between depression status and cognitive function in the community female aged. Methods: This was a descriptive study. Data were collected using individual-based interviews from 120 senior female residents in the Hall for the aged in the city of S. The length of time for data collection was from June 18 to 29, 2007. The tool of data collection was Korean Version of Mini-Mental State Examination (Kwon & Park, 1989), Short-form Geriatric Depression Scale (Bae, 1996). Results: Depression & cognition showed significant differences according to age, regular exercise. The depression group scored significantly lower than the normal group in total score of cognition, orientation, memory recall. Conclusion: It is necessary to prepare the composite programs, which can improve not only cognition but depression in the community female aged.\

모피 패션의 미적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Aesthetic Characteristics of Fur Fashion)

  • This study researched transition process of fur costume from ancient times to 20th century, extracted esthetic characteristics, and then understood how the esthetic characteristics appear in the recent fur collection. The result is as follows. First, magical meaning was revealed on leopard fur that ancient chief priests wore on top of shenti to symbolize immorality and fur tunics to which christian symbol was added in Byzantine. During middle age and the Renaissance, extravagance appeared on sable and amin jackets that the noble decorated to show off their high status. During the rococo age and mid-20th century, sensuality and elegance appeared on the fur dresses that the female body was emphasized. Second, in recent collection, extravagance appeared on over-sized and voluminous fox-coat, sexsuality and elegance were revealed through mink-dresses and jackets with soft touch and gloss that curved-silhouette was emphasized. In addition, practicality and functionality were shown through short length and light, soft material, and activeness was in the mink jacket to which functional elements such as zippers and rubber were added. To pursue uniqueness and fun, fox jackets were made with over-sized vivid green color. Besides, abnormality and vulgarness appeared through the fashion with abnormal and distracted images with ambiguous forms and new processing methods applied.

한국 재래 적미 수집 및 특성 검정 I. 지리적 분포와 종실특성 (Collection and Evaluation of Korean Red Rices I. Regional Distribution and Seed Characteristics)

  • 우리나라 농가 포장에 현재까지 잔존하는 적미를 수집하여 이를 유전자원으로 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 검토하고자 제주도와 도서지방을 제외한 전국 8개 도 101개 시, 군에서 1,113계통의 적미를 수집하여 이들을 입형에 따라 분류하고 지리적 분포화 몇가지 종실특성을 검정한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 수집된 적미는 외관상 Indica에 가까운 장립형과 Japonica에 가까운 단립형으로 구분되었는데 장립형의 정조 장폭화는 3.01$\pm$0.11,, 단립형의 정조 장폭화는 2.28$\pm$0.12였다. 2. 장립형 적미는 경상남북도의 낙동강유역과 전라남북도의 섬진강유역에 주로 분포하였고 단립형 적미는 전국에 분포하였다. 3. 장립형과 단립형 적미는 종피색은 적색이 각각 90.8%, 88.8%로서 대부분이었으나 장립형에는 백색이 9.2%, 단립형에서는 갈색과 백색이 각각 10.6%, 0.6% 있었다. 4. 장립형 적미는 9.3%와 단립형 적미의 30.8%는 phenol반응을 나타내었다. 5. 장립형에는 찰성이 없었으나 단립형 적미에는 4.3%가 찰성이었다. 6. 장립형 적미는 거의 까락이 없었으나 단립형 적미의 49.6%는 까락이 있었다. 7. 장립형 적미는 모두 탈립이 쉬웠으나 단립형 적미의 14.8%는 탈립이 정상적이었다.

Morphological variables restrict flower choice of Lycaenid butterfly species: implication for pollination and conservation

  • Background: Butterflies make an important part for plant-pollinator guild. These are nectar feeder or occasionally pollen feeder and thus proboscis of the butterfly species are considered as one of the most important variable in relation to the collection of food from plants. In butterfly-plant association, nectar source is principally determined by quality of nectar, corolla length, and nectar quantity. For the butterfly, nectar uptake is determined by proboscis length because flowers with long corolla restrict butterfly species containing shorter proboscis. Empirical studies proved that butterfly species with high wing loading visit clustered flowers and species with low wing loading confined their visit to solitary or less nectar rich flowers. The present study tries to investigate the flower preference of butterfly species from Lycaenidae family having very short proboscis, lower body length, lower body weight and wing span than the most species belonging from Nymphalidae, Pieridae, Papilionidae, and Hesperiidae. Results: Butterflies with shorter proboscis cannot access nectar from deeper flower. Although they mainly visit on less deeper flower to sucking nectar, butterflies with high wing loading visits clustered flowers to fulfill their energy requirements. In this study, we demonstrated flower choice of seven butterfly species belonging to Lycanidiae family. The proboscis length maintains a positive relationship with body length and body weight. Body length maintains a positive relationship with body weight and wing span. Wing span indicate a strong positive relationship with body weight. This study proved that these seven butterfly species namely Castalius rosimon (CRN), Taracus nara (TNA), Zizinia otis (ZOT), Zizula hylax (ZHY), Jamides celeno (JCE), Chilades laius (CLA), and Psuedozizeeria maha (PMA) visit frequently in Tridax procumbens (TPR), Ocimum americanum (OAM) and Syndrella nodiflora (SNO). The species do not visit Lantana camara (LCA) and Catharanthus roseus (CRO) plants. Conclusion: The present study proved that butterfly species visits frequently in Tridax procumbens (TPR), Ocimum americanum (OAM) but less frequently in Syndrella nodiflora (SNO). So, that study determined the butterfly species helps in pollination of these herbs that in turn helps the conservation of these butterfly species.

패션 컬렉션에 나타난 진패션의 형태적 디자인 특성 (The Design Characteristics of Form of Jean Fashion in Fashion Collections)

  • 이 연구는 진재킷과 진팬츠에 관한 연구로 패션컬렉션에 제시된 진재킷과 진팬츠의 디자인 특성을 분석하고 활용 가능성을 모색함으로써 진패션 디자인 연구와 패션산업의 상품 기획에 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 2007년 S/S시즌에서 2011년 F/W시즌까지의 사진을 수집하여 통계프로그램 SPAW를 활용하여 빈도, 백분율을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하고 결론을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 남성의 진재킷에서 심플한 디테일에 미디움길이, 사각형실루엣을 활용하고, 여성은 여성스러움을 강조한 X자형 실루엣과 쇼트길이의 다양한 디테일을 활용한다. 남성의 진팬츠는 스트레이트 실루엣과 컴포트 실루엣으로 활용하고 여성은 다양한 실루엣, 피트, 길이로 다양한 이미지로 진을 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

청둥오리의 정액채취에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Semen Collection of Wild Duck (Anas platyhychis platylyachos))

  • These experiments were conducted to develope the artificial insemination methods of wild duct (Anas platyhychis platylyachos) . The characteristics of erect phallus and semen collected by the abdominal massage method were investigated in wild duck. The erection and withdrawal time of phallus were 50.70${\pm}$18.66 and 92.58${\pm}$51.95 sec. , respectively, in wild duck. The length, long and short diameter of erect phallus were 3.98${\pm}$0.49crn, 1.53${\pm}$0.15cm and 1.05${\pm}$0.04 cm, respectively, and the spiral grooves of erect phallus were 4 in wild duck. The volume of semen, concentration of spermatozoa and total sperm of an ejaculate were 0.18${\pm}$0.06 ml, 2.84${\pm}$0.03 x 10 9 /ml and 0.52${\pm}$0.21 x 10 cells, respectively, in wild duck. The motility of sperm and pH of semen were 49.06${\pm}$14. 35 and 7.6${\pm}$0.14 in wild duck.

고속용 풀리형식 장력조정장치 개발 (A Development of Pulley-type Tensioning Device for a High Speed Railway)

  • In the electrical railway, the tension ascension of contact wire is essential to speed up of train and current collection performance of catenary largely depends on the tension. The tension variation rate of the tensioning device used in existing line limits within 5%, and the tension variation rate of the spring-type tensioning device installed at the section where tensioning length is short bounds within 15%. So it is urgent for us to localize it for high speed line, which the tension variation rate is limited within 3%. Therefore in this study, a pulley-type tensioning device for high speed line is developed. To verify the performance of developed device, a performance test, overload test and failure test is carried out under the code of the Kyung-Bu High Speed line. And it is secured durability performance through a fatigue test.
