The purpose of this study was to identify the difference on the consumer's cognitive response, emotional and behavioral response in regard of the in-store shopping environment according to their apparel shopping orientation. The subjects of this study were consumers who finished shopping in the stores, and 300 questionnaires were completed. Data collected in this survey were analyzed by using Factor analysis, Cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA and Duncan test as a post identification. The results were as follows; 1. A significant difference was found on cognitive responses in regard of the in-store environment, such as a store atmosphere, salespeople, the assortment of products, and the fashion of products, according to types of apparel shopping orientation. The hedonic shopping type tended to have the higher evaluation toward a store atmosphere and salespeople than did other types. 2. Results showed statistically significant differences on emotional responses such as the outward/inward pleasure and outward/inward displeasure of the in-store shopping environment according to apparel shopping orientation types. The outward pleasure was found most highly in the high involvement shopping type. 3. There were significant differences on behavioral responses of the in-store shopping environment, such as the shopping satisfaction, the store revisit intention, recommending to others, and the unexpected consumption, according to apparel shopping orientation types.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of shopping orientation, and service quality and satisfaction on impulsive buying behavior in two types of apparel store. The sample consisted of 616 females aged 20-30 who were shopping at department stores and shopping malls in Busan. Data were analyzed with factor analysis, t-test, cross analysis and path analysis. The results showed that consumers of department stores showed more strongly convenient orientation than those of the shopping mall, consumers of the shopping mall showed more strongly recreational orientation and practical orientation than those of the department. Stores services of the department were perceived better than that of the shopping mall in promotional services, salespersons' services and environmental services. But it didn't show any differences between store types in product services. Consumers 'satisfaction with the service was greater in department stores than the shopping mall. But it didn't show any difference between apparel store types in the impulsive buying behaviors. Impulsive buying behavior of department store shoppers is directly affected by a shopper' shopping orientation as well as store service quality perceived by shoppers rather than a shopper' satisfaction. The service quality does not have directly related to consumers’ service satisfaction. The causal relationships of impulsive buying behaviors showed similarity in shopping malls and department stores. The perceived quality and satisfaction with store service were higher at department store than shopping malls. In impulse buying behavior of a department store was directly affected by a shopper' shopping orientation as well as store service quality perceived by shoppers rather than a shopper’ store service satisfaction.

The purposes of this study was to investigate the effects of materialism value on the clothing shopping orientation and impulse buying behaviors of Chinese female consumers. The subjects were 417 female millennials in Gillim-province, China. The research method was a survey, and the questionnaire consisted of questions to ascertain materialism value, clothing shopping orientation, impulse buying behaviors, and the subjects' demographic characteristics. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, Cronbach's α, factor analysis, and regression analysis were performed. The results of this study were as follows: First, materialism value was derived with 3 factors (happiness pursuit, possession-oriented, and success judgement). Second, the clothing shopping orientation was derived with 5 factors (trend pursuit, pleasure pursuit, brand pursuit, economic pursuit, and convenience pursuit). Third, the impulse buying behavior was derived with 4 factors (pure, planned, reminder, and implicit impulse buying). Forth, materialism value had significant effects on clothing shopping orientation. The higher the value of materialism, the more the brand pursuit, pleasure pursuit, and trend pursuit shopping orientation increased, while the economic pursuit and convenience pursuit shopping orientation decreased. Fifth, materialism value had significant effect on pure and planned impulse buying behaviors. As the value of materialism increased, pure and planned impulsive buying behaviors increased. This study suggested that materialism value is an effective variable to understand the clothing shopping orientation and clothing impulse buying behavior.

Cousumers developed self-image through clothing symbolic product for reveal one’self image. When consumers select particular brand of various brand in the market that congruent with one’self image. They have to continue image. In this purpose, the research model was constituted and the questionnaire was made, reviewing preceding studies on self-image, shopping orientation. As for the method of the research, 635 female consumers were the object for the data of this research. The major results of this were as follows: 1. The factor or real self-image was composed of four factors: the refined and deluxe image, casual and simple image, decorous and dressy image, quiet and feminine image. 2. The consumer with real self-image were classified three groups: the group of feminine and dressy image 288 persons, the group of casual image 167 persons and poor image 171 persons. In the consumer’s classified real purchasing brand-image the group of feminine and dressy image was given higher score at feminine and refined and deluxe image, the group of casual image was given higher score at casual and active. 3. The factor of shopping orientation was composed of four factors: pleasant, planned, loyal, recreational shopping orientation. The group of feminine and dressy image was given higher score at pleasant and planned shopping orientation, the group of casual image was given lower score loyal and confident shopping orientation than the other group.

The purpose of this study was to clarify service quality of apparel stores and find out related variables. The related variables are contained customer's characteristics (shopping orientation, demographic characteristics), store types and store patronage behavior in apparel store. The subjects selected for the final analysis were 363 females aged from 20 to 59 who lived in Taejon. And the data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through factor analysis, ANOVA, cluster analysis, regression, Duncan test, Tukey test. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Services quality of apparel stores consisted of seven dimensions ; ability of salesperson, belief in policy, convenience of facility, attractiveness of physical environment, convenience of using credit cards, convenience of space movement. and apparence of salespeople. 2. Shopping orientation consisted of four dimensions; recreational shopping orientation, rational shopping orientation. convenience-oriented shopping orientation, price-conscious shopping orientation. Shopper types consisted of three dimensions ; recreational-economical type shopper, rational type shopper, convenience-oriented type shopper. Significant relationships were found out between those shopper types and service quality. Significant difference was caused by demographic characteristics(age, marital status, education, income. job) except for places of residence and service quality. 3. The significant difference was found out between store types and service quality. 4. Service quality(ability of salespeople. belief in policy, convenience of facility, convenience of using credit cards. apparence of salespeople) were influenced store patronage behavior.

The purpose of this study is to investigate consumer shopping orientation toward foreign brands in the context of clothing involvement, ethnocentrism, country-of-origin effects and demograpic variables. Prior to this paper, shopping orientation was studied in connection with ethnocentrism and country-of-origin effects. The questionnaire was distributed to 300 female consumers over twenty years old living in Pusan area and finally 213 data serfs were used for statistical analysis. By factor analysis, 6 clothing involvement factors were identified; fashion interest, symbolism, pleasure interest, inclination to harmony, aesthetic expression and perceived risk. A result of canonical correlation analysis about shopping orientation factors and clothing involvement factors is as follows. Two shopping orientation factors (follow to foreign brands and country-of-orion consciousness) positively correlate with three clothing involvement factors (fashion interest, symbolism and pleasure interest) , and two shopping orientation factors (preference to domestics and country-of-orion consciousness) positively correlate with author clohting involvement factor (percived risk). Anocova procedure revealed that five shopping orientation factors were related to clothing involvement factors, groups according to ethnocentric disposition, country-of-origin effects and demograpics respectively, even though there are some differences. Based on the conclusions, marketing strategies were developed.
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between lifestyles and clothing shopping orientation. A questionnaire was developed to measure the lifestyle and shopping orientation of Chinese female college students. The questionnaire was distributed and collected from 217 college female students in China. The data was analyzed by mean, standard deviation, factor analysis, reliability test, MANOVA and ANOVA by SPSS package. The lifestyles of the respondents were classified into four types such as Open-mindedness, Accomplishment, Sociability, and Activities. And shopping orientation was classified into five types such as Recreational shopping, Speediness, Economic shopping, Shop and brand royalty, and Self-confidence. The result of this study were as follows; Consumers of open-minded lifestyle tended to economic and self-confident shopping. The higher accomplishment was, the higher speediness and economic shopping were. Consumers of sociable lifestyle tended to recreational, speediness, and self-confidence. The higher activities was, the higher economic shopping was. The shop and brand royalty was not shown to have the significant differences according to all of lifestyle groups. It is the factor that lifestyle were important in the clothing market segmentation of Chinese female college students

The purpose of the study were to find how the trend had an effect on a buying motivation, a selecting standard, a frequency of use, a purchase place of cosmetics, makeup and the distinctive quality of social strata of regarding a clothing shopping orientation. The subjects of investigation were the women in twenties who live in Seoul and Chonnam province. This study had been done from May to July 2001, and 660 questionnaires were used for analysis. The measuring tools used were the items of matters of preceding studies and developed ones by researchers on which questionnaires were prepared. Factor and cluster analysis and Duncan's multiple range test, ANOVA, x$^2$-test, frequency, and percentage as analysis methods were used through SPSS. The results of the study were as follows. The clothing shopping orientation divided five shopping orientations such as ostentatious style, enjoyable style, economical style, and prudent style, and an attachment style for special brands and shops. On the basis of this result, the groups 20's females were classified into low groups by the cluster analysis; economical shopping group, indifferent shopping group, conspicuous shopping group, and recreational shopping group. In the case of cosmetics purchasing motives, evaluation criteria of cosmetics, stores selection criteria were found according to shopping orientation subdivision, and there was the significant difference between the groups in frequency of use, a purchase place of cosmetics.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of duty free shop consumers' store benefits sought and fashion merchandise shopping orientation on store satisfaction. Survey data were collected from questionnaires filled out by 194 domestic consumers who had purchase experience of fashion goods in duty free shops located in Korea. The data were analyzed by reliability analysis, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: First, the store benefits sought was categorized into five factors such as pursuit of convenience, salesperson/atmosphere, promotion, product quality, and product fashionability/variety. The fashion merchandise shopping orientation was categorized into six factors such as pleasure orientation, pursuit of fashion, pursuit of brand, planned orientation, pursuit of confidence, and convenience orientation. The store satisfaction was categorized into six factors such as atmosphere/reputation of store, promotion, product fashionability/variety, convenience, price, and salesperson. Second, the store benefits sought, composed of pursuit of convenience, salesperson/atmosphere, promotion, product quality, and product fashionability/variety, had an effect on the store satisfaction. Third, the shopping orientation such as pleasure orientation, pursuit of fashion, pursuit of brand, and planned orientation, with the exception of pursuit of confidence and convenience orientation, had an effect on the store satisfaction.

The objective of this study was to identify differences between internet fashion shoppers and non-shoppers in their fashion shopping orientation and attitude toward internet shopping site service. Also behavior of internet shoppers and non-shoppers was compared by gender. Twelve hundred and ninety two responses were obtained from an online survey. 20 items were used to measure shopping orientation and 13 items to measure attitude toward internet shopping site service, which were modified from previous studies. Some demographics and internet familiarity were asked. Factor analysis, t-test, chi-square test, and regression were conducted. Factor analysis produced five fashion shopping orientation factors such as fashion oriented, shopping oriented, brand oriented, personality oriented, and value oriented. Attitude toward internet shopping site service were classified into three factors, at-site service, after purchasing service, and product information. Internet fashion shoppers and non-shoppers were significantly different in most items of shopping orientation and attitude toward internet site service. Internet shoppers were likely to be fashion oriented, to enjoy shopping, to pursue brandname and personality, and to concern price more than non-shoppers were. Internet shoppers also had more favorable attitude toward product information and at-site service. Also, shoppers were more familiar than non-shoppers to the internet in terms of duration of web-browsing. Ratio of men and women differed significantly for shopper vs. non-shopper groups. Female shoppers were likely to be more fashion, shopping. and value oriented but to have less favorable attitude for after purchasing service than male shoppers.
