소부재 연속/공용 절단 데이터 생성 프로그램 개발 (Development of Creating Continuous and Common Cutting NC Data Program)

  • In most shipbuilding company, cutting procedure is proceed by cutting machine which run by CNC(Computer Numerical Code) data. In our cutting process, all CNC data is created by our nesting post processor system automatically. Among them, in case that cutting piece in the remnant plate, our system creates only one piece CNC data. Because remnant plate is not typical shape, and ship designers don't know remnant plate shape and quantity. In can happen some merit and good point if we modify 1:1 piece NC data by shorten cutting path, reducing cutting time or re-arrangement piece. For modifying cutting data, outside workers have to call to ship designer or have to go to NC control room where control the CNC system and cutting machine. It makes stop work process, and it waste time. In this paper, we introduce a program that can modify and replace 1:1 NC data with continuous or common NC data automatically.

Relationships between MMPI Scales under Defensive Attitude and Safety and Health Indices

  • Objective:This study aims to analyze the relationships between personality factors measured by Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) scales and the indices of safety and health in the shipbuilding industry. Background: Many researches reported that there were significant relationships between some MMPI subscales and traffic and industrial accidents. Method: This study analyzes 230 male workers in shipyard for their MMPI scores gathered during recruitment process and their safety and health indices from the performance record during their working period. ${\chi}^2-test$ and one-way ANOVA are used for finding the statistical significance for personality factors. The conventional grouping rule for MMPI scales and other grouping criteria considering the attitude of positive answer for the MMPI test during recruitment process are used for analysis. Results: The Hypomania (Ma) and Psychopathic Deviate (Pd) scales of the MMPI are the main factors related to the safety and health related indices for most grouping rules. Depression (D), Psychasthenia (Pt), Hypochondriasis (Hs), Schizophrenia (Sc), and Masculinity and Femininity (Mf) scales are also related to the safety and health indices. Conclusion and Application: The results can be used for understanding the psychological factors in human behaviors and safety and can help professional personnel take the necessary steps in improving safety on the job and also in providing the effective teaching of safe work methods.

Automation of block assignment planning using a diagram-based scenario modeling method

  • Most shipbuilding scheduling research so far has focused on the load level on the dock plan. This is because the dock is the least extendable resource in shipyards, and its overloading is difficult to resolve. However, once dock scheduling is completed, making a plan that makes the best use of the rest of the resources in the shipyard to minimize any additional cost is also important. Block assignment planning is one of the midterm planning tasks; it assigns a block to the facility (factory/shop or surface plate) that will actually manufacture the block according to the block characteristics and current situation of the facility. It is one of the most heavily loaded midterm planning tasks and is carried out manually by experienced workers. In this study, a method of representing the block assignment rules using a diagram was suggested through analysis of the existing manual process. A block allocation program was developed which automated the block assignment process according to the rules represented by the diagram. The planning scenario was validated through a case study that compared the manual assignment and two automated block assignment results.

  • In the field of shipbuilding design, the use of 3D CAD is becoming commonplace, and most of the large shipyards are conducting 3D design. However at the production site, workers are still working on 2D drawings rather than 3D models. This tendency is even worse in small-scale shipyards and block manufacturing shops. Particularly, in a manufacturing shop that is engaged in the outsourcing of blocks, it may not be possible to provide 3D model. However, the demand for 3D models in the production field is steadily increasing. Therefore, it would be helpful if 3D model could be generated from a 2D drawing. In this paper, we propose a method to extract template and unfolded surface shape information from shell template offset drawing using computer vision technology. Also a 3D surface model was reconstructed and visualized from the extracted information. The result of this study is thought to be helpful in the work environment where 3D model information can not be obtained.

대형 주물공정 용접작업장의 건강 위해인자 및 환기 개선 (Health Risk Factors and Ventilation Improvements in Welding Operation at Large-sized Casting Process)

  • 이 연구에서는 대형 주물공정 용접작업장 근로자들의 건강보호 및 작업환경 개선을 위해 위해인자 조사 및 분석작업을 수행하였다. 또한, 대상 작업장의 작업환경을 개선하기 위해 측정 및 전산유체해석 모델링을 수행한 후 효과적인 환기방법을 제안하였다. 대형 주물공정 용접작업장 근로자들의 건강 위해인자를 조사한 결과, A사는 산화철분진, B사와 C사는 용접흄, D사는 용접 흄과 산화철분진이 주오염원인 것으로 확인되었다. 작업자 호흡영역에서의 흄 농도는 $0.05{\sim}4.37mg/m^3$이었고, 용접작업장 공기 중 흄 농도는 $0.13{\sim}7.54mg/m^3$이었다. 또한, 용접작업 시 최적의 환기방법을 제안하기 위해 측정 및 전산유체해석 모사를 수행한 결과, 배기공정의 경우에는 배기 덕트를 용접점에 근접시켜 국소배기를 실시하는 것이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 급기공정의 경우에는 개구부 끝 부분에서 급기를 하며 급기용 팬은 작업 공간 외부에 설치하는 것이 효과적일 것으로 나타났다. 향후 대형 주물공정 용접작업장의 터널형 반밀폐 공간에 대한 환기방법을 표준화한다면 주물산업 및 조선업 등에 종사하는 용접 근로자들의 건강보호 및 작업환경 개선에 매우 효과적일 것으로 판단된다.

  • 조선소에서 사용되는 대형 셧오프 밸브의 개폐를 위한 용기의 경우, 저압의 고정식 대형 공기탱크가 사용되고 있는데, 이는 먼 거리에 있는 밸브에 공압을 공급해야 할 경우, 추가 배관이 필요하며 수송도중 압력 강하가 발생하는 문제점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 작업자들의 편의성을 증대시키고, 공기누설로 인한 폭발 방지를 위하여 고압의 휴대형 용접식 질소용기(11 kg, 10 L 및 50 bar)의 설계를 수행하였다. 구조적으로 취약한 용접부를 최소화하기 위하여 용기의 외형을 타원형으로 설계하였으며, 기준 무게 및 용적 충족과 사용압력에 대한 구조안전성을 확립하기 위하여 용기의 두께와 장단축 비를 설계하였다. 또한 용접 잔류응력 예측을 위해 APDL(ANSYS Parametric Design Language)을 이용하여 과도 열-구조 연성해석을 수행하였으며, 내압에 의한 구조안전 및 피로수명을 검증하였다.

선체 블록 진수 시 필요한 최소 용접 구조 강도 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determination of Minimum Welding Condition Based on Structural Strength under Launching for Tandem Blocks)

  • 최근 한국 조선업계가 세계 선박 발주 물량의 대부분을 수주하고 있지만, 생산 현장에서는 인력난으로 생산공정 차질을 겪고 있다. 오랜 조선업 불황으로 일감과 임금 모두 줄어든 탓에 근로자들이 조선소를 떠났기 때문이다. 수주가 증가한 주요 요인은 카타르 LNG선 대량 발주였으며, 선박에 요구되는 기술 사양이 복잡해지는 상황도 유리하게 작용하고 있다. 선박은 계약한 인도 시점이 무엇보다도 중요하기 때문에, 조선소의 주요 공정 중 도크 진수 계획이 무엇보다도 중요한 관리 아이템이다. 도크에서 건조되는 구조물은 의장 작업을 남긴 선체 혹은 완성형 선박일 수 있으며, 때에 따라서 선체의 일부 블록 수준일 경우도 많다. 진수 시, 선체는 유체력에 의한 호깅(hogging) 혹은 새깅(sagging) 모멘트 영향을 받게 되고, 블록 연결부의 구조강도에 대한 안전성 확보가 무엇보다도 중요하다. 정상적인 공정이라면 연결 부재는 용접을 끝낸 상태에서 진수하지만, 실제 조선사에서는 도크 일정을 준수하기 위하여 구조 안전성이 확보되는 조건에 대한 빠른 의사결정이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 앞서 언급한 문제점들을 엔지니어링 관점에서 합리적으로 판단하기 위하여 휨 응력평가법과 유한요소해석 모델링을 사용한 상세 해석법과 적용성을 분석하였다. 논문에서 언급된 주요 내용은 향후 유사 구조 강도 평가의 진행 시 좋은 사례로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 생각한다.

전자장비와 컴퓨터기술을 이용한 산업시스템의 생산성 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study of Improvement the Productivity of the Industrial System using Electronics and Computer Technology)

  • 조선업종은 숙련공의 감소와 노동력 부족을 해결하기 위해 자동화와 기계화가 필요하다. 특히 조선용 핸드레일 제조공정은 표준화된 타 분야와 달리 자동화가 낙후되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 조선용 핸드레일 제작에 사용할 수 있는 평철 자동화시스템을 컴퓨터 융합기술을 활용하여 설계하고 개발하였다. 시스템 기구부는 절단공정의 효율성, 생산성, 안정성 등을 고려하여 설계하였고, CATIA 와 ANSYS를 사용하여 구조물의 안정성을 확인하였다. 시스템 제어부는 개방성과 확장성을 제공하는 PCNC 콘트롤러를 사용하였고, 터치스크린 방식의 화면 조작을 통해 시스템의 제어 및 모니터링을 할 수 있도록 구축하였다. 평철 자동화시스템은 기계, 전자 그리고 컴퓨터 기술을 융합하여 산업체의 생산성을 향상시킬 수 있도록 개발하였다.

LNG선 화물격납용기 Invar strake edge 이음부 형상 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on Application of Corrugated Invar Strake Edge in the Membrane Cargo Containment of LNG Carriers)

  • The membrane of the LNG carriers consists of thin strips of INVAR(Fe-36%Ni) steel plates, and the junction between INVAR strips is fabricated by welding. Thousands of the raised edge joints, regularly spaced, are located around all the side of the tank corner near the transverse bulkhead, and TIG welding is manually made on the top of the raised edges. Since the thickness of all the laminated edge plies is extremely thin and the weld position is under a bad accessibility, highly skilled workers are required to perform welding relatively for a long welding time. An alternative scheme for the corner membrane fabrication is proposed in the study to improve the installation workability and thus productivity. The scheme replaces the welded edges with the preformed corrugation ones. A panel strip with regularly-spaced corrugations is installed at the corner instead of the individual flat strip of which edge is vertically raised to be welded with the adjacent strip. In the study, a series of the evaluation on the corrugated edge members was performed to assess the applicability to the real LNG carrier fabrication. Opening displacement at the raised edge was experimentally examined. Elastic stiffness regressed from the displacement was nearly same in both edge types. Edge displacement and local stresses were calculated under hydrostatic pressure and temperature change due to liquefied cargo. Fatigue test was performed on both corrugated and welded edge specimens consisting of two or five plies of invar strips. Fatigue strength of the corrugated specimens was not less than that of the welded specimens.

선수미 흘수마크 용접을 위한 벽면이동로봇 개발 (Development of a Wall-climbing Welding Robot for Draft Mark on the Curved Surface)

  • The vertical displacement of a ship on the basis of the sea level is an important parameter for its stability and control. To indicate the displacement on operating conditions, "draft marks" are carved on the hull of the ship in various ways. One of the methods is welding. The position, shape and size of the marks are specified on the shipbuilding rules by classification societies to be checked by shipbuilders. In most cases, high-skilled workers do the welding along the drawing for the marks and welding bead becomes the marks. But the inaccuracies due to human errors and high labor cost increase the needs for automating the work process of the draft marks. In the preceding work, an indoor robot was developed for automatic marking system on flat surfaces and the work proved that the robot welding was more effective and accurate than manual welding. However, many parts of the hull structure constructed at the outdoor are cowed shapes, which is beyond the capability of the robot developed for the indoor works on the flat surface. The marking on the curved steel surface requiring the 25m elevations is one of the main challenges to the conventional robots. In the present paper, the robot capable of climbing vertical curved steel surfaces and performing the welding at the marked position by effectively solving the problems mentioned earlier is presented.
