Purpose: The purpose of this study is finding proper bonding agents to be used when adding bis-acryl composite provisional materials. Materials and Methods: Three bonding agents with different chemical compositions were included in this study. Forty disk shaped specimens of bis-acryl composite provisional material were prepared and divided into 4 groups according to the bonding agents. Control group didn't have bonding agent. Through the Teflon mould with 4.0 mm diameter hole with 4.0 mm thickness the same bis-acryl composite provisional material was added on the disks after the surface of each specimen was treated with designated bonding agent according to the manufacturer's instructions. Shear bond test was performed and the fractured surfaces were inspected with a microscope. One-way analysis of variance was conducted and the result was further analysed with Turkey post hoc test at the significance level of 0.05. Results: The highest strength was acquired from the specimens bonded with chemical cure system and it was statistically significant (P < 0.05). This group showed 100% cohesive failures. The lowest bonding strength was recorded from the specimens used conventional light cure bonding agent, and this group's result was similar with the control group. The group used a light cure bonding agent claiming improved compatibility revealed significantly higher bond strength to the traditional light cure bonding agent group in a statistically significant way (P = 0.043). Conclusion: According to the bonding agent used the shear bond strength was significantly affected. Therefore the choice of proper bonding agent is important when hiring a bonding agent to add bis-acryl composite provisional materials.

As the need for R&D for high reliability cameras, such as satellite cameras, increases, the reliability of the bonding strength properties between an opto-mechanical structure and an optical component has been secured through specimen tests. However, the widely used specimen shape is not suitable for the application of glass and glass-ceramic material, which is fragile, making it difficult to obtain accurate bonding properties due to stress concentration in glass parts before reaching the bonding strength limit. In this study, the stress distribution characteristics in the shear test condition for various specimen shapes were studied analytically, based on the test results of the glass material's own fracture. Through this, the shape characteristics capable of relieving the stress concentration of the glass part were derived, and the range of the bonding shear strength verifiable by the specimen test was improved.

According to extensive use of composite resin which have superior esthetic property, every effort on improving bonding strength between a tooth and composite resin has been continued. Acid etching technique is a method that micro-etches the tooth surface which provides bonding with composite resin possible. Recently, there were several reports that mechanical treatment obtained from air-abrasion can provide similar bonding strength with acid etching technique. So, this experimental study was designed to compare the shear bonding strength between using air-abrasion technique and using acid etching technique. Initially, bovine teeth were divided into enamel and dentin experimental groups. Respectively each group was categorized into three subgroups. One subgroup was acid etched with 35% phosphoric acid, then bonded with composite resin. The other subgroup was air-abraded with $50{\mu}m$$Al_2O_3$ particles sprayed with 160psi air pressure using air abrasion unit(KCP-1000, A.D.T., U.SA), and composite resin was bonded. In another subgroup, composite resin was bonded after acid etching following air-abrasion. So, enamel experimental groups were made of E1 (acid etched only), E2(air-abraded only), E3(acid etched following air-abraded), and dentin experimental groups were made of D1(acid etched only), D2(air-abraded only), D3(acid etched following air-abraded). Each subgroup had 10 specimens. Dentin bonding system(Scotchbond Multi-purpose, 3M Co., U.S.A.) and composite resin(Z-100, 3M Co., U.S.A.) were applied on treated surface using 5mm diameter gelatin capsule as manufacturer's direction. After 1200 times thermocycling between $5^{\circ}C$ and $55^{\circ}C$, shear bond strength was measured in 5mm/min crosshead speed with Instron(Instron Co., U.S.A.), and also treated enamel and dentin were observed with SEM(JEOL Co., Japan). The following results were obtained: 1. In the enamel experimental groups, acid etched following air-abraded group had highest shear bond strength, but there was no significant difference compared to acid etched group. Air-abraded only group had lowest shear bond strength, and there was significant difference compared to the rest of groups. 2. In the dentin experimental groups, acid etched following air-abraded group had highest shear bond strength, but there was no significant difference compared to acid etched group. Air-abraded only group had lowest shear bond strength, and there was significant difference compared to the rest of groups. 3. In the SEM study, air-abraded enamel and dentin had irregular and rough surfaces.
A rolled steel for structural parts and lead bronze alloy were bonded each other by a new semi-solid diffusion bonding process to investigate the effect of the process parameters, for example bonding temperature and bonding time, on the interface characteristics, and bonding behavior. It can be possible that manufacture of the bonded steel/lead bronze which has a cylindrical shape with inserted the lead bronze alloy into the steel ring by the diffusion bonding process under the semi-solid condition of the lead bronze alloy without any pressure and flux. It has been know that the control of the amount of the liquid phase in semi-solid lead bronze alloy was very important to obtain soundness interface, since the shear strength of the bonded steel/lead bronze at 850℃ for 60 minutes under the condition of about 40% of the liquid phase in the lead bronze alloy shows maximum value, 210 MPa. The shear strength increases with an increase in bonding time and show maximum value, and then decreases.

In this paper, we report a fluxless eutectic die bonding process which uses 80Au-20Sn eutectic alloy. The chip LEDs are picked and placed on silicon substrate wafers. The bonding process temperatures and force are $305\sim345^{\circ}C$ and 10$\sim$100gf, respectively. The bonding process was performed on graphite heater with nitrogen atmosphere. The quality of bonding are evaluated by shear test and thermal resistance. Results of fluxless eutectic die bonding show that shear strength is Max. 3.85kgf at 345$^{\circ}C$ /100gf and thermal resistance of junction to die bonding is Min. 3.09K/W at 325$^{\circ}C$/100gf.
Bonding of brackets is one of the essential factors for successful orthodontic treatment' so bond strength of orthodontic adhesives are very important. The purposes of this research were to compare shear bond strength of various orthodontic adhesives and to evaluate failure sites. One-hundred twenty extracted human first premolars were prepared for bonding and premolar brackets were bonded to prepared enamel surfaces with Super C Ortho, Mono-$Lok^2$, Transbond, and Super C Ortho after applying Fluorobond. After bonding of brackets, teeth specimens were divided into 3 groups. In group 1 specimens were stored at humidor $37^{\circ}C$ in 1 hour, in group 2 specimens were stored at humidor $37^{\circ}C$ in 24 hours, thermocycled 10 times and in group 3 specimens were stored at humidor $37^{\circ}C$ in 24 hours, thermocycled 1800 times. Then the universal testing machine Instron 6022, Instron Co., U.S.A. was used to test the shear bond strength of brackets to enamel. After debonding, brackets and enamel surfaces were examined under stereoscopic microscope to determine the failure sites The results were as follows : 1. Shear bond strength was significantly highest of using Super C Ortho after applying Fluorobond and Super C Ortho In group 1, was highest of using Super C Ortho in group 2, and was highest of using Mono-$Lok^2$ in group 3. 2. According to time and temperature change, in using Super C Ortho the group 2 had significantly highest strength and group 3 had lowest strength, in using Mono-$Lok^2$ the group 2 and had higher strength than group 1 and in using Super C Ortho after applying Fluorobond shear bond strength decreased constantly, 3. The failure sites were tooth-resin interface in Super C Ortho after applying Fluorobond, Mono $Lok^2$ and Transbond and were at almost same ratio bracket base-resin interface and tooth-resin interface in Super C Orth.
The purpose of this study is to compare the shear bond strength of repaired composite resin with different bonding agents and evaluate the effect of bonding agents on composite repair strength. Forty composite specimens (Z-250) were prepared and aged for 1 week by thermo cycling between 5 and $55^{\circ}C$ with a dwell time of 30s. After air abrasion with $50\;{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide, following different bonding agents were applied (n = 10); SB group: Scotchbond multipurpose adhesive (3 step Total-Etch system); XE group: Clearfil SE bond (2 step Self-Etch system); XP group: XP bond (2 step Total-Etch system); XE group: Xeno III (1 step Self-Etch system). After bonding procedure was completed, new composite resin (Z-250) was applied to the mold and cured. For control group. 10 specimens were prepared. Seven days after repair, shear bond strength was measured. Data was statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey's test (p<0.05). The means and standard deviations of shear bond strength (MPa ${\pm}$ S.D.) per group were as follows: SB group: 17.06; SE group: 19.10; XP group: 14.44; XE group: 13.57; Control Group: 19.40. No significant difference found in each group. Within the limit of this study, it was concluded that the different type of bonding system was not affect on the shear bond strength of repaired composite resin.
Weld bonding can be applied as a combined method of spot welding and adhesive to have more advantages than those. Weld bonding has many merits that enlarge the fatigue strength of spot Welding and also improve the creep of adhesive. But it has not beer proved well in the various environmental conditions. In this study, weld bonding test for fatigue properties and tensile strength is presented under such various coditions as temperatures, humidity, and etc.
The aim of this study was to measure and compare the micro shear bond strengths of the following dentin bonding systems to the dentin surfaces under simulated pulpal pressure: All Bond $2^{\circledR},{\;}Second^{\circledR},{\;}AdheSE^{\circledR}$, Adper Prompt $L-Pop^{\circledR}$. The occlusal surfaces of 180 extracted human molars were prepared so the dentin bonding surfaces could be exposed. The teeth were randomly assigned to 3 equal groups of 60 each and subdivided. The dentin surfaces were treated with the above mentioned bonding system and resin composite cylinders were built up under a simulated pulpal pressure when saline (Group II) or diluted bovine serum (Group III) was used as the pulpal fluid. As a control. the same procedures were performed in the dried dentin surfaces (Group I). After one day of storage in water. the micro shear bond strengths were measured using an EZ tester. Group II and III showed significantly lower shear bond strength than Group I statistically (p < 0.05). $SEbond^{\circledR}{\;}and{\;}AdheSE^{\circledR}$ showed no difference among the different dentin condition. In the Adper Prompt $L-Pop^{\circledR}$. a simulated pulpal pressure were applied to the specimens using diluted bovine serum. which showed a higher strength than the specimens in which saline was used (p < 0.05).
Statement of problem. Adhesives in dentistry playa major role in the success of restorative treatments. In the treatment of all ceramic restoration it is needed to find the adequate bond strength between enamel and dentin. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to evaluate shear bond strength of resin cement bonded to extracted human uncut enamel, cut enamel, and dentin in vitro. Material and methods. Ten freshly extracted anterior teeth without any previous restorative treatments were chosen. The extracted teeth were embedded in PMMA cold acrylic in the shape of a cylinder, 25 mm in diameter by 25 mm in height. The bonding system used was as follow: Uni-Etch (32% phosphoric acid), One-Step adhesive, Duolink resin cement. The specimens were acid etched and rinsed with water. Two layers of One-Step adhesive were coated with a disposable brush on the uncut enamel. VIP curing light at $500mV/cm^2$ was used to cure the adhesive. For cut enamel shear bond test, the specimen used for uncut enamel was further reduced approximately $0.3{\sim}0.5mm$ using a laminate preparation diamond bur (0.3 mm in depth). The specimens were subsequently treated with 320-grit SiC paper followed by 600-grit SiC paper and cleaned with distilled water. The bonding procedure on the cut enamel was same as uncut enamel bonding procedure. For dentin bonding test, the specimen used for cut enamel was further reduced approximately $0.5mm{\sim}1.0mm$ using a laminate preparation diamond bur (0.5 mm in depth of diamond cutting). The amount of reduction was evaluated with the silicone mold. The specimens were subsequently treated with 320-grit SiC paper followed by 600-grit silicon carbon paper and cleaned in distilled water. The bonding procedure on the dentin was same as uncut enamel bonding procedure. All samples were mounted and secured on the Ultradent shear bond test sample holder, and Ultradent restricted shear bond testing device was used with Universal Instron machine until fracture. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) test was performed comparing the result at P<0.05. Multiple comparison (Tukey) was used to compare each groups. Result. The result showed that the mean value in shear bond strength of resin cement bonded to uncut enamel, cut enamel and dentin were 27.04 Mpa, 30.25 Mpa and 26.39 Mpa with respect. Conclusion. Within the limitation of this study, the mean value of the shear bond strength of cut enamel was higher than those of uncut enamel or dentin. However there existed no statistical differences between three different human dentition substrates due to increased adhesive characteristics.
