Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the factors influencing the barriers faced by Korean nurses in addressing the patients' sexual health. Methods: The subjects in this study were nurses working at hospitals in Seoul and Jeonju. The data for this study were collected between November 2008 and December 2008. The subjects were assured of anonymity and confidentiality. Results: The barriers to addressing the patients' sexual health were moderate in the subjects. The nurses had moderate sexual knowledge and communication skills. In a stepwise regression analysis, the areas of work, communication skills, participation in sexual health training, and experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology accounted for 18.3% of the variance of the barrier for addressing the patients' sexual health. Conclusion: These findings emphasize the need for the development of a patient-centered sexual health-related curriculum for nurses, which has been briefly discussed in Korea. An educational program that improves the nurses' communication skills will be effective in reducing the barriers to addressing the patients' sexual health and will help the nurses become sexual health specialists.
Purpose: The physical deficits after stroke have been well documented, but there is little information on the sexual functions of stroke patients. This study examined the associations of the general characteristics with the poststroke changes in sexual functions. Methods: A survey was conducted on 200 stroke patients from November 2008 to February 2009. Among the 200 submitted questionnaires, 147 responded, and the results were analyzed by SPSS for windows version 14.0. Results: A majority of the stroke patients reported a marked decline in all the measured sexual functions, i.e., frequency of sexual intercourse, frequency of kissing and romantic touching, thinking about sex with interest or desire, ability to become sexually aroused and the overall level of sexual satisfaction. Significant differences were observed in age (p<0.01), years since diagnosis (p<0.05), and educational level (p<0.01). There were no significant gender differences (p>0.05). Conclusion: Decreased sexual function is a common problem after stroke. These finding demonstrate a need to develop sexual adaptation programs that can be effective in improving the sexual functions reported by stroke patients.

Collected data were analyzed through independent t-test, One-way ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficients using SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. The mean score of sexual knowledge was 2.60, sexual attitude was 2.74, and sexual behavior was 0.49. The sexual knowledge of patients differed significantly according to parent attitude(${\rho}$<.01), and sexual behavior showed the difference according to diagnosis(${\rho}$<.05). Sexual knowledge had a significant positive correlation with sexual attitude(r=.75, ${\rho}$<.001) and sexual behavior(r=.15, ${\rho}$<.05). There were also positive correlation between the sexual attitude and active sexual behaviour(r=.20, ${\rho}$<.01), the subcategory of sexual behaviour. These results of study suggest that psychiatric nurses should appropriately assess sexual problems of psychiatric patients and include them in nursing interventions.

The survey data were collected by questionnaires on May 2000, and the number of subjects was 300 workers. The SAS-PC program was used for the statistical analysis such as t-test, ANOVA and regression analysis. Major results were follow as: 1. The performance rates of health education for sexual harassment was 66%, and 58.9% of the lecturer of sexual harassment education was occupational health nurse. The 45.2% of workers acquired the information for sexual harassment through massive education in workplace. 2. The perception and attitude of sexual role was relatively positive as 2.3(SD=0.69) of mean values. and the difference by sex, age, marital status. and working period was significant. 3. The perception of the women manpower in workplace was generally positive as 7.9(SD= 3.25) of mean values, and the working experience group of less 10 years and more 10 years old age group showed the significant difference in comparative to other group. 4. The perception of sexual harassment of workplace composed of legal basis, range of victim, place of sexual harassment, type of sexual harassment. misconception of sexual harassment, and coping methods of sexual harassment. Among of these perception. type and coping methods of sexual harassment were shown high perception level. Purpose: This study was designed to construct and test a structural equation model on sexual function in women with gynecologic cancer. Methods: The model was constructed and tested under the hypotheses that women's physical changes in sexual function after gynecologic cancer treatment did not automatically lead to sexual dysfunctions. Women's psychosocial factors were considered to be mediating variables. Two hundred twelve women with cervical, ovarian, and endometrial cancer were recruited and asked to complete a survey on their physical factors, psychosocial factors and sexual function. Data was analyzed using SPSS WIN 12.0 and Amos WIN 5.0. Results: Predictors of sexual function in the final model were sexual attitude affected by physical distress and couple's age, sexual information affected by physical distress and couple's age, depression affected by physical distress, and marital intimacy affected by physical distress. Tumor stage and time since last treatment directly affected women's sexual function without any mediating psychosocial variables. However, body image did not affect women's sexual function. Conclusion: Nursing professionals should develop a tailored educational program integrating both physical and psychosocial aspects, and apply it to women and their spouses in order to promote sexual function in women with gynecologic cancer.
Purpose: Sexual function involves a complex interaction of emotions, body image, and intact physical responses. The purpose of this study was to determine the sexual functioning of women who are incontinent and to identify associated factors. Methods: For this descriptive correlation study, data were collected from 147 women with urinary incontinence. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Mean scores were 22.39 (sexual dysfunction ${\leq}26.55$) for sexual function, 13.38 (of 63) for depression, and 55.47 (range of score 17~85) for body image. Urinary symptoms and daily life symptoms averaged 36.04 (range of score 20~100) and 16.03 (range of score 8~40). Sexual function had a positive correlation with body image and negative correlation with daily life symptoms. Sexual satisfaction, daily life symptoms, marital satisfaction, and frequency of sexual intercourse were factors affecting sexual function. Conclusion: Study results indicate that urinary incontinence has a negative impact on various aspects of sexual function. Nurses should be aware of the wider consideration that needs to be made in relation to general and sexual quality of life when caring for clients suffering from urological diseases.

Method: The subjects were a 575 volunteer students sampled in Daegu City and Gyungbuk. Data were collected from March 19th to 31st, 2007 using structured questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed with the SPSS program using descriptive statistics. Chi-square test, t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: The mean score of the rural students was significantly higher than that of the urban students in experience of sexual assaults. The mean score of the urban students was significantly higher than that of the rural students in sex role attitude. Gender, experience of sexual education and recognition of sexual assaults accounted for 29.8% of the variance of sex role attitude in the urban students.
