동적하중에 의한 단섬유 보강토의 침하 특성 (Settlement Characteristics of Short-fiber Reinforced Soil under Dynamic Loading)

  • To analyze the settlement characteristics of short-fiber reinforced soil(SFRS) under dynamic loading, a series of tests with loading condition of 5 Hz frequency and 500,000 cycles were performed. The materials used for tests are a soil of SM type and short-fibers with polypropylene and monofilament or fibrillated type. From the tests, average plastic settlement of SFRS at PPF38(0.3%), PPF38(0.5%), PPM60(0.2%) is low. Elastic settlement of SFRS is low at PPM60(0.2%) and is high at PPF60(0.5% ).

  • 본 논문에서는 유한요소해석을 통하여 부등침하를 받는 매설관 기초지반 보강의 적용성과 지반보강 상호작용에 의하여 매설관 연결부 하부에서의 부등침하를 최소화 할 수 있는 방안에 관하여 다루었다. 매설관의 일단이 구조물에 고정되어 있는 경계조건에 대하여 상호비교하여 지반보강에 따른 응력전이 효과와 이로인한 배설관 침하억제 효과를 수치적으로 분석하였다.

  • Construction of high-speed concrete track embankments over soft ground needs many of the ground improvement techniques. Drains, surcharge loading, and geosynthetic reinforcement, have all been used to solve the settlement and embankment stability issues associated with construction on soft soils. However, when time constraints are critical to the success of the project, another measures should be considered. Especially, since the design criteria of residual settlement is limited as 30mm for concrete track embankment, it is very difficult to satisfy this allowable settlement by using the former construction method. Pile net method consist of vertical columns that are designed to transfer the load of the embankment through the soft compressible soil layer to a firm foundation and one or more layers of geosynthetic reinforcement placed between the top of the columns and the bottom of the embankment. In this paper, three cases with different embankment height and number of geosynthetic reinforcement, were studied through FEM analysis for efficient use of pile net method.

Reliability analysis of shallow tunnel with surface settlement

  • Based on the reliability theory and limit analysis method, the roof stability of a shallow tunnel is investigated under the condition of surface settlement. Nonlinear Hoek-Brown failure criterion is adopted in the present analysis. With the consideration of surface settlement, the internal energy and external work are calculated. Equating the rate of energy dissipation to the external rate of work, the expression of support pressure is derived. With the help of variational approach, a performance function is proposed to reliability analysis. Improved response surface method is used to calculate the Hasofer-Lind reliability index and the failure probability. In order to assess the validity of the present results, Monte-Carlo simulation is performed to examine the correctness. Sensitivity analysis is used to estimate the influence of different variables on reliability index. Among random variables, the unit weight significantly affects the reliability index. It is found that the greater coefficient of variation of variables lead to the higher failure probability. On the basis of the discussions, the reliability-based design is achieved to calculate the required tunnel support pressure under different situations when the target reliability index is obtained.

  • To analyze the settlement characteristics of short-fiber reinforced soil(SFRS), which will be used as a new backfill material of reinforced retaining wall, under simulated railroad loading, a series of tests with loading condition of 5 Hz frequency and 500,000 cycles were performed. The materials used for tests are soils with SM or ML type, and polypropylene short-fibers with mono-filament(PPM) or fibrillated type(PPF). From the tests, average plastic settlement is low at PPF38(0.3%)(abbreviation of PPF with 38mm length and mixing ratio 0.3%), PPF38(0.5%), PPM60(0.2%) for SFRS using SM soil and at PPF38(0.3%), PPF60(0.2%) for SFRS using ML soil. Elastic settlement is low at PPM60(0.2%) for SFRS using SM soil and at PPM60(0.5%) for SFRS using ML soil.

진동다짐에 의한 기초사석의 침하거동 (Settlement Behavior of Foundation Rubble-mound by Vibro-Compaction)

  • 기초사석 위에서 진동하중을 받는 진동다짐판의 침하는 일시적인 진폭과 소성침하로 나타낼 수 있다. 최대 진동하중이 사석의 지지력을 초과하지 않는 한, 소성침하량은 극한값으로 수렴하며 궁극적으로 정상적인 진동을 한다. 이러한 진동다짐의 침하거동에 대한 실내실험은 수평방향이 구속된 시료에 대하여 진동하중이 전체면적에 작용하도록 수행되었거나 진동대에 시료를 놓고 실험을 수행한 것이 대부분이다. 그러나 실제 현장에서는 진동하중이 기초사석 표면적의 일부에만 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 현장조건에 맞게 쇄석에 진동하중을 작용토록 하였다. 쇄석에 대한 진동다짐실험에 따르면 전체 침하량의 약 90%가 2분 이내에 발생하며, 정적 및 동적응력을 포함한 진동응력 수준이 증가할수록 침하는 증가하였다. 진동다짐시, 진동다짐수, 진폭, 침하량, 재하폭, 진동응력의 상관관계를 나타내는 식을 제안하였다.

Effects of rock-support and inclined-layer conditions on load carrying behavior of piled rafts

  • In this study, the load carrying behavior of piled rafts installed in inclined bearing rock layer was investigated for rock-mounted and -socketed conditions. It was found that settlements induced for an inclined bearing rock layer are larger than for a horizontal layer condition. The load capacity of piled rafts for the rock-mounted condition decreased as rock-layer inclination angle (${\theta}$) increased, while vice versa for the rock-socketed condition. The load capacities of raft and piles both decreased with increasing ${\theta}$ for the rock-mounted condition. When bearing rock layer was inclined, loads carried by uphill-side piles were greater than those by downhill-side piles. The values of differential settlements of rock-mounted and -socketed conditions were not significantly different whereas slightly higher for the rock-socketed condition. The values of load sharing ratio (${\alpha}_p$) and its variation with settlement were not markedly changed by the inclination of bedrock. It was shown that ${\alpha}_p$ for piled rafts installed in rock layer was not affected by ${\theta}$ whereas actual loads carried by raft and piles may vary depending on the pile installation and rock-layer inclination conditions.

지진에 따른 지하공동의 붕괴로 인한 지표면 함몰에 대한 확률론적 연구 (Probabilistic Study of Surface Subsidence due to the Collapse of Underground Void during Earthquakes)

  • 이 연구는 지진시 지하공동의 붕괴로 인한 지표면 함몰에 관련된다. 지하공동의 붕괴로 인한 침하량은 공동의 깊이, 모래의 단위중량, 기초의 크기와 형태, 지진강도 그리고 공동의 크기에 따라 달라진다. 본 연구에서는 함몰의 정도의 추정, 함몰에 영향을 미치는 요소의 해석, 그리고 절대침하와 부등침하 그리고 회전성침하로 인한 구조물 손상에 대한 확률을 계산하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 본 연구의 얻어진 결과에서 공동의 깊이가 일정하고 폭이 증가함에 따라 파괴면의 각과 공동의 유효계수는 모래의 단위중량보다 침하계수에 영향을 적게 미쳤다. 그리고 같은 조건에서 절대침하와 부등침하에 대한 구조물의 손상확률은 증가하였고 회전성침하에 대한 손상확률은 감소하였다.

  • Recently, the high speed railway comes into the spotlight as the important and convenient traffic infrastructure. In Korea, Kyung-Bu high speed train service began in about 400km section at 2004, and the Ho-Nam high speed railway will be constructed by 2017. The high speed train will run with a design maximum speed of 300-350km/hr. Since the trains are operated at high speed, the differential settlement of subgrade under the rail is able to cause a fatal disaster. Therefore, the differential settlement of the embankment must be controlled with the greatest care. Furthermore, the characteristics and causes of settlements which occurred under construction and post-construction should be investigated. A considerable number of studies have been conducted on the settlement of the natural ground over the past several decades. But little attention has been given to the compression settlement of the embankment. The long-term settlement of compacted fills embankments is greatly influenced by the post-construction wetting. This is called 'hydro collapse' or 'wetting collapse'. In spite of little study for this wetting collapse problem, it has been recognized that the compressibility of compacted sands, gravels and rockfills exhibit low compressibility at low pressures, but there can be significant compression at high pressures due to grain crushing by several researchers(Marachi et al. 1969, Nobari and Duncan 1972, Noorany et al. 1994, Houston et al. 1993, Wu 2004). The characteristics of compression of fill materials depend on a number of factors such as soil/rock type, as-compacted moisture, density, stress level and wetting condition. Because of the complexity of these factors, it is not easy to predict quantitatively the amount of compression without extensive tests. Therefore, in this research I carried out the wetting collapse tests, with focusing in various soil/rock type, stress levels, wetting condition more closely.

정주체계를 고려한 농촌마을의 정주여건 진단지표 개발 (Development of Settlement Condition Diagnosis Index in Rural Village)

  • This paper proposes a village level settlement environment diagnostic indices in rural areas which can apply to analyze various conditions at village level. A living space in rural areas has been changed with a diverse aspect according to living infrastructure, industrial structure, accessibility to neighbor city and so on. This indicators considered these mega-regionalization of economy and lifestyle in rural areas. The indicators consists of basic indices for all types villages and convenience service indices for center villages and the other neighbor ones classified by a functionality of their convenience facilities. As the results of delphi expert survey and a field validation, rural village settlement environment diagnostic indicators were selected 3 types, 15 domains, 24 subdomains and 61 items. And these indicators weight were determinted by AHP method. These developed indicators were used to diagnosis settlement conditions of 31 villages, located on county of Yeongdong. to validate a applicability and feasibility.
