Social distancing required the use of doorstep delivery for nearly all purchases during the COVID-19 pandemic. Foreign users in Korea are forced to participate in superfluous tasks, leading to an increase in their anxiety and fatigue while online shopping. This study examines how digital shadow work stemming from the language barrier can affect the emotions and behaviors of foreign shoppers that use Korean shopping sites. By interviewing 37 foreign users in Korea, this draft examined their experiences, behaviors, and emotional output, classifying them into 14 codes and seven categories. Using grounded theory, we found that online shoppers' emotions, feelings, experiences, and decision making may be changed in the stages of the pre-use, use, and post-use activities. User responses regarding shadow work and related obstacles can be seen with the continue, discontinue, and optional (occasional use) of Korean online shopping sites. Pleasure and satisfaction come from high efficiency and privileges, whereas anger and disappointment come from poor self-confidence and pessimism. Furthermore, buyer behavior and product orientation are identified as intervening conditions, while the online vs. offline shopping experiences are identified as contextual conditions. In conclusion, language barriers and other factors make online shopping difficult for foreign shoppers, which negatively affects their psychological mechanisms and buying behaviors. The implications from the study findings and future research are also discussed.

An embedded mobile device mostly has lower computation power than a general purpose computer because of its relatively lower system specifications. Consequently, conventional face tracking and face detection methods, requiring complex algorithms for higher recognition rates, are unsuitable in a mobile environment aiming for real time detection. On the other hand, by applying a real-time tracking and detecting algorithm, we would be able to provide a two-way interactive multimedia service between an user and a mobile device thus providing a far better quality of service in comparison to a one-way service. Therefore it is necessary to develop a real-time face and eye tracking technique optimized to a mobile environment. For this reason, in this paper, we proposes a method of tracking horizontal face position of a user on a T-DMB device for enhancing the quality of 3D DMB content. The proposed method uses the orientation of edges to estimate the left and right boundary of the face, and by the color edge information, the horizontal position and size of face is determined finally to decide the horizontal face. The sobel gradient vector is projected vertically and candidates of face boundaries are selected, and we proposed a smoothing method and a peak-detection method for the precise decision. Because general face detection algorithms use multi-scale feature vectors, the detection time is too long on a mobile environment. However the proposed algorithm which uses the single-scale detection method can detect the face more faster than conventional face detection methods.
The purpose of this study is to identify the types and characteristics of elementary school pre-service teachers revealed in the process of resolving the change of lunar phases, which emphasizes the context of actual observation, and to provide suggestions for areas to be considered in the elementary school teacher training program. To this end, we analyzed the 30 pre-service teachers' explaining the observable lunar phases, and the main research results are as follows. First, the phase change of the moon was often explained by introducing the timetable for each phase of the moon rather than based on observation of the phenomenon and scientific reasoning. Second, an alternative concept of the type that the moon is invisible when the sun rises or that the moon can always be observed has been identified. Third, there was a case of explaining that the time and orientation for observing the moon can be observed regardless of the position of the sun or when observing the sun. Also, the date of observing the moon was assumed to be approached by assuming the lunar calendar. Based on the above results, pedagogical implications were discussed.

In this study, we investigated science teacher's guidance of teaching practice in the perspective of the CHAT. Two science teachers working for schools affiliated with a college of education in Seoul took part in this study. Visiting the entire teaching practice, we observed the processes of guidance and the lessons and collected related materials. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted before, during and after teaching practice. All the data were analyzed by using the constant comparative method. The analyses of the results revealed that student guidance during the lessons was also important. And the curriculum orientation needed to be carried out before teaching practice. The division of labor with pre-service teachers relieved teachers of work burden. Teachers failed to guide assessment of students due to influences of community element such as students who were sensitive to grades. In both cases, teaching practice were so collaborative that those were valuable not only for pre-service teachers but also for teachers and students. Two teachers' activity system showed contradictions due to the lack of specific manuals for guidance and the lack of understanding of pre-service teachers. These contradictions brought about difficulties in their guidance, which in turn led to the difficulties experienced by pre-service teachers during teaching practice. They attempted to resolve contradictions in alternative ways and required standardized manuals for guidance, environments in which teachers could collaborate, and close connections with a college of education. Based on the results, we suggest some ways to improve teaching practice.
In order to find out Elementary pre-service teachers' reflective thinking and experiment performance ability related with Photosynthesis Experiment in the Korea Elementary School Science Textbook, the research is conducted targeting Elementary pre-service teachers. They are asked to carry out the experiment and write their own report about the difficulties and solutions of exploration process. This study aims to analyze Elementary pre-service teachers' reflection and experiment performance ability on Photosynthesis experiment based on 10 groups' reports and presentation materials. Reflective thinking extracts 108 statements which is associated with the four types of the sentence 'Knowledge, Procedure, Orientation, Attitude' in 10 reports. There are many sentences about reflective thinking acquired through analysis of the photosynthesis experiment. reflective thinking about the newly discovered type or changed concepts through experimentation in Knowledge is at the highest frequency. 56 sentences in relation to the ability to perform experiments are extracted by adding 4 different types of reflective thinking in 10 groups shown the highest frequency group and the lowest frequency group's report through analyzing 4 steps 'Experimental preparation and safety accident prevention', 'Experiments performance', 'Experimental results and generalization', and 'Experimental results and feedback.' Results of the analysis showed that there are the biggest difference between the two groups in 'experiment results supplement and feedback step.' In the lowest group's report, there's no contents related with 'Computer-assisted information processing' in the 'Experimental results summary and generalization stage', 'Alternative reagents and materials research', and 'Devising alternative experiment methods'.

In this study, we investigated the characteristics of the PCK components of pre-service chemistry teachers considered in the processes of developing performance assessment. Eight pre-service teachers participated in this study. After the workshop for performance assessment, they developed performance assessment through the planning, embodying and small group discussion step. Their activities were recorded and videotaped. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted. It was found that the PCK component considered in developing performance assessment individually was mainly the knowledge of assessment in science. The proportions of knowledge of curriculum, instructional strategies and students were found to be relatively low. The feedback on students' performance was not considered at all. The orientation to traditional assessment which emphasized on the objectivity of assessment, was stronger in the embodying step rather than in the planning step. During the planning step, the integrations among the PCK components mainly appeared with the knowledge of instructional strategies. However, they hardly appeared in the embodying and discussion steps. The main characteristics of the PCK in small group discussion were similar with those in the embodying step. Some PCK components were considered more in small group discussion, but most discussions were in the traditional perspectives.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the topographic effect of the LAI (Leaf Area Index), which has been widely used as an index that quantifies the structure of forest vegetation in Deogyusan National Park. With this aim, the study was conducted through a regression analysis which took as explanation the following variables: the elevation, slope, aspect, and soil moisture conditions. The LAI was taken as the response variable. Overall, the correlation between the Field-LAI and topographic factors was less than 0.5, which was relatively low. Except for topographic altitude, there was no statistical significance regarding the correlation with other factors. Meanwhile, regarding the orientation of the correlation, the higher the attitude, the steeper slope, the lower the soil moist, the lower the LAI value. The topographic altitude was found as a statistically significant explanation variable. The TWI (Topographic Wetness Index), which was used in this study to explain the soil moisture conditions, was not significantly related to the LAI distribution. The results of this study are expected to be utilized as basic data in more accurate forecasting the LAI distribution using remote sensing data.

In Korea, a variety of policies for the regional cultural industry development have been carried out: the promotion policy of cultural industry cluster, the establishment of cultural industry support center, and the construction of cultural industry complex and the supporting works for the cultural research center. The cultural industry has a dual character of the manufacturing industry and the service industry. The cultural industry of Gyeongbuk province is mostly centered upon small manufacturing firms with low value-added. Thus, it is desperately in need of the building-up of the enterprise supporting system. However, it is difficult to expect that private business service finns can be activated. In this sense, local and regional governments seek to establish so called 'the cultural contents support center'. However, it is not clear whether the center is an organization for the production of cultural contents or an agency for the support of cultural contents industry. Also it does not prepare any major functional introduction facilities and performing programs. Most of all, it is necessary to establish a proper orientation that 'the cultural contents support center' must be not an organization for the direct production of cultural contents, but an organization supporting cultural industry by way of providing cultural industry enterprises with what is necessary for the production of cultural contents. Also, a system for the establishment of business fitting support policy that can cover the whole sectors of cultural industry must be prepared. Furthermore, a synthetic support system for the cultural business associated industries centered on specified sectors such as films, edutainment, and storytelling must be constructed. Finally an environment for the creation and inducement of cultural industry enterprises, and for the active participation of enterprises and related groups in the promotion planning and in the policies of cultural industry must be built along with on- and off-line networks.
Modern server systems are usually composed in the form of cluster systems in order to serve not only as many users but also as many kinds of applications as possible. The progression of the cluster system architecture leads in a middleware approach based on the Java framework. The middleware approach alleviates the efforts for the construction and the management of a server system but still preserves its performance and applications on the server. In this research, we introduce a new clustering scheme for the easy construction and maintenance of a cluster server system with the Java Management Extensions. We first demonstrate the construction and configuration process. Our experiment sets can verify that it is easy to construct, expand and manage a middleware based cluster system as well as the applications which reside on it. In addition, we can achieve reasonable performance on our service oriented clustered system with the help of state-of-the-art middleware. The experimental results of performance demonstration contain the availability of a server, and the effectiveness of load balancing and scheduling mechanisms. Especially, our service oriented scheduling mechanism was shown to successfully manage load imbalance under the normal load and cope with the overloaded situations, compared with other known scheduling mechanisms.
The purpose of this study was to extract the factors of core competency required for technology teachers and to analyze the educational needs for extracted core competency factors and to search for the application of core competencies in the in-service technology teachers education. This study was conducted by literature review, expert validation, and needs assessment method. The survey was conducted by 92 low-carrier technology teachers who participated in in-service technology teachers education for upgrading to first grade teacher certificate. Data were analyzed the factor analysis, needs assessment, and IPA analysis using SPSS 24. The core competencies with high education needs were selected by the score of the Borich formula and the IPA analysis. As a result of the study, 29 factors of core competencies were chosen as the priority: challenge, planning ability, decision making ability, future orientation, intellectual property utilization ability, communication ability, and creative thinking etc. Based on the conclusions of this study, I would suggest the following. It is to create a new in-service education program reflected on core competencies that have high educational needs of low-carrier technology teachers. In addition, a strategy that reflects core competencies methodically in existing in-service teachers education program is needed. Future research should be followed by research on curriculum design to enhance high needed core competencies of low-carrier technology teachers.
