  • During the last several years, interest in broad-band power line communications (PLC) has been grown over medium voltage(MV) power distribution lines as well as low voltage lines. This paper introduces a medium voltage PLC test field that is set up in the suburbs of Euiwang city in Korea. This test field could be used not only for the measurement of communication channel environment but also for internet service. This paper shows the configuration of medium voltage test field with network devices like MV signal coupler and the results of channel environment like noise and impulse response. It also shows the service performance of PLC access network through network management system.

There are some company to service high quality network game for gathering members. Those company make success for getting fee from their member. Global on-line game market is small but stability growing. Thus Microsoft invest on line game. On this paper, one of a java network turn game system called by "Hoola" is designed and implemented. This Application consist of Client/Server and Database module and multi-tier Architecture, because of easily translation to PDA or mobile phone.

  • The purpose of the study is to propose architectural design standards of the cafeteria planning in educational facilities. In the spatial organization planning, the preferred location of the cafeteria is on the first floor and the types of the floor plan are followed by the forms and space structure of the school building. The area of the cafeteria is related to the size of seating area per person. The direction must sublate northern faced. In interior moving lines for service, the arrange of dining tables has to reflect distance of dining tables or location of pillars. The dining space should better have more than two entrances in terms of occupancy type and convenience. Thus the serving line has to be planed thoughtfully by various factors to avoid confusion caused in serving process. In multipurpose use of the cafeteria, it is feasible when hygiene and management is considered.

  • Certificate security oriented cyber certificate is important tool for the purpose of offering user-authentication service based on on-line system. In the paper, we analyzed management implement which could make the efficient use of certificate security oriented cyber terror response. This algorithm called SOL(Security Oriented Language) will make efficient use of the service about authentication consisting of the basis in the age of information through efficient management and partial use of each certificates. Especially, SOL could be used efficiently by grafting a small group of on-line system which is operated with particular purposes.

  • Any track system needs major changes of its components during its life. The most economical solution is, if possible, to make all components reach their life limit during the major track rehabilitation operation. Usually, the rail does a role as the driving component for the objective: its life-time is equivalent to around 500 million tons of traffic on high speed lines. On the KTX line with 110 trains per day, this would correspond to around 16 years, which is probably too long for the elastic pads of a concrete slab track. The most economical solution should be to change them at an intermediate step of 8 years, without changing the rail, and then to change both the rail and elastic pad at 16 years intervals (some rail changes on the South East TGV line in France began 15 years after service opening at 260 km/h, but recent rails have better characteristics).

  • The service running of driverless rail vehicle has been required by various social and commercial issue. Currently, the new domestic line between Bu-san and Gim-hae is plan to be provided the LRV(Light Rail Vehicle) with driverless operation firstly in domestic service. These driverless vehicle have some major properties to make it lower the operating and maintenance cost, however on the other side, it unavoidably raise some potential hazard to make it lower the passenger safety because it is hard to take care immediately in emergency state during vehicle running. Therefore it is highly requested that we should consider various conditions at design stage to manufacture and operate the safest vehicle. Therefore, in this paper, we will survey the design concept of vehicle interior facilities based on the previous experience, (1) The difference of interior facilities between normal and driverless vehicle, (2) design and operational concept of passenger side door function to find out best application for domestic line driverless vehicle.

  • Functional Equipment Group(FEG) of Nuclear Power Plant(NPP) is the bundling of multiple equipment subcomponents around a major equipment with a common system isolation characteristic or out-of-service consideration. The main purpose of FEG is to reduce out-of-service time to enhance maintenance effectiveness. KHNP(Korea hydro & Nuclear Power Co.) needs to develop these FEGs to successfully perform On-line Maintenance(OLM) which will be expected to institute in the future. Recently, there has been growing interest in OLM in KHNP. The aim of this paper is to suggest the way of FEG development and to build the FEG of MCR(Main Control Room) HVAC(Heat, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system. The results of this study might be make good use of OLM and be helpful for equipment maintenance for MCR HVAC system.

  • The purpose of this paper is to design a cyber mathematics mentoring system which is helpful for interactive mathematics mentoring among mentors and learners. We review theories about various technological tools that are related to students' interest, participation and motivation in the course of on-line and off-line activities, and we also research the effectiveness of such tools. Also we consider educational implications of the cyber mathematics mentoring system for pre-service teachers, in-service teachers, learners and mentors.

  • Tilting system allow the train to pass curve at higher speed without affecting passenger comfort. As the tilting trains offer the optimum means of providing faster and more comportable rail service with minimum of environmental disturbance and capital investment, more than 14 countries have now adopted or are about to adopt tilting train technology. The Korean National Railroad is also planing to apply faster tilting train to the areas where the High speed rail service are not provided. This paper shows the concept design of Bogie and Tilting system for 180 km/h Express tilting train for Korean conventional line, which was done as a part of the KNR's R&D project.

Finding Train Frequencies and Halting Patterns Using Optimization Models : a Focus on the Line Plan for High-Speed Trains (최적화 모형을 활용한 열차 운행 횟수 및 정차 패턴 생성 : 고속 열차 노선 계획을 중심으로)

  • There has been much interest in optimizing the halting patterns of high-speed trains, for example by introducing more non-stop trains to supply faster train service to the passengers, which could later bring about a discussion about introducing new high speed train service with differentiated price and service. In general, halting patterns can be considered by constructing an efficient line plan, in which all demand should be covered and the total travel time can be reduced as much as possible. In this study, we present a two-step process based on two optimization models. One is to minimize total kilometers of trains to run on each route ; this will be done using a line planning model under the assumption of all-stop patterns. Then, in the next step, the all-stop patterns are optimally decomposed into several halting patterns in order to minimize the total travel time. We applied the two-step process to the latest demand data in order to develop KTX halting patterns as well as to determine the frequency of each line and compare the current line plan with the optimized one.
