Curation Service to Improve User's Access to National R & D Information : Focusing on Issues R&D Service (사용자의 국가 R&D 정보 이용 접근성 향상을 위한 큐레이션 서비스 : 이슈로 보는 R&D 사례를 중심으로)

  • National R & D data covers information in all fields from basic science research to industrialization, but it is expressed in technical terms, which make it difficult for the public to use. Accordingly, NTIS developed and launched the data curation service 'R&D issue service', which selects national R&D information on national and social issues and provides them to the public. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of a data curation service on NTIS users' access to R&D data and suggest how to develop the curation service. The R&D issue service extracts issue from the news article and provide related national R&D projects, achievements and major research institute. All raw data used for the service are open to the public, organized in a report format and provided as PDF files. In addition, automative process is developed for all NTIS users to make individual issue packaging like administrator. The results show that 'R&D issue service' launching increases users' access and convenience to R&D data related to major issues, and the number of page views of users increased after the service was opened.

  • The use of national R&D reports becomes a difficult task due to the different level of service being provided and the different way used for its construction by the institute in management. One-stop service of its contents is impossible and there is a lack of specialized service such as a system to satisfy the various needs of the researchers. This study analyzes the laws related to the national R&D reports and the evaluation system of the R&D outputs for the design and construction of the DB and system for the management of the national R&D reports. We also perform an analysis of the economic effect of the system.

  • Research information services such as ScienceON, RISS, and DBpia used by researchers during the R&D process mainly consist of a user interface in the form of a portal and search functions that respond to demands. However, the importance of open collaboration that freely shares and utilizes the research process and results and provides various tools and services necessary for collaborative research is gradually increasing, so there are also limitations to these service roles. Thus, we design WithON, which provides collaborative research environments of a preemptive response method, focusing on a personalized user interface to support the entire R&D cycle. We expect WithON would fundamentally change the existing research information services into collaborative research-centric ones.

  • The purpose of this study is to define a method of building an integrated service to provide various science and technology knowledge infrastructures that are helpful in R&D activities, and to show the cases that are adapted the methodologies. Knowledge infrastructures scattered throughout the entire R&D cycle, such as generating/development of ideas, finding the R&D project, performing the project, and spreading results, are segmented in terms of services, functions, information, and data, and links and converges to provide the knowledge infrastructure that desired by users in one place. We define the integrated service classification, integration level model, integrated architecture, and integrated user authentication system in consideration of logical linkage and integration rather than physical integration of individual knowledge infrastructures. Also, we considered the extensibility as the reference model for building of similar integrated service.

A study on the impact of persona-style consumer analysis on corporate R&D (페르소나 방식 소비자분석이 기업의 R&D에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, to verify the effectiveness of the persona-type consumer analysis data service, a study was conducted focusing on the consumer analysis service use case of www.ethno-mining.com. The case was targeted at the 'Small Business Design Difficulty Resolving Support Project' of the Gangwon Institute of Design Promotion. The progress of this study was to develop a questionnaire to measure the user satisfaction and effectiveness of the service, study the consumer analysis data of the persona method of the www.ethno-mining.com system, study related theories, compare similar services, and conduct questionnaires; The results were analyzed and tested. In the result of testing the participants in the 'Small Business Design Difficulty Resolving Support Project' of the Gangwon Design Promotion Institute, the persona-style consumer analysis data got a positive response in terms of user satisfaction, and a regression that measures the effectiveness of the service on the company's R&D In the analysis, it was found that there are practical effects for companies by reducing time, reducing costs, smooth communication between developers, securing expertise in consumer analysis, and improving the overall quality of R&D during R&D.

  • 본 연구는 R&D 전주기 지원을 위해 과제 기획 및 수행과 연구성과 창출 시나리오를 통합 설계하고, 연구자 관점에서의 실효성과 유용성을 검증하기 위해 프로토타입으로 구현하는 것을 목표로 한다. 기존 연구가 R&D 전주기를 몇 가지 활동으로 세분화하고 모형화하였지만, 개념적 설계에만 초점을 맞추고 있다는 한계를 극복하고자, 본 연구에서는 산업계 및 학계 전문가와 협력하여 R&D 경험을 시나리오에 반영하고 이를 프로토타입으로 실증하였다.

  • Understanding the antecedents of high public usage of national R&D facilities is a critical issue for both academics and facility managers. Previous researchrelated to general service management has identified service quality and user satisfaction as important antecedents of reuse and recommendation intention. The current paper reports findings from a survey which looked into the impact of service quality dimensions and user satisfaction on reuse and recommendation intention in the field of R&D facility public usage. Findings indicate that service quality appears to be linked to user satisfaction, and user satisfaction to be linked to reuse and recommendation intention. Findings also indicate that user satisfaction played as a mediator on the relationship between service quality and reuse/recommendation intentions in R&D facility public usage domain.

  • Research and Development projects sponsored by the government are one of the main production sectors of academic and research information in domestic area. The access control and information service of R&D outcomes should be considered as a critical factor of nation-wide knowledge-based IS management. This study focused on the practical utilities of three IPR legislations of the government projects and analyzed if they are good enough to support the information service in recent digital network environment. Some suggestions in different perspectives were provided for the improvement of the existed IPR legislation.

  • 본 연구는 기존 포털형 정보 서비스의 한계를 극복하고자, 이전 연구에서 제안된 연구자의 R&D 프로세스 과정에서의 협업을 지원하는 개방형 협업 지원 서비스 플랫폼을 기반으로 하여, 본 연구에서는 R&D 프로세스 중 '사전 단계'에 대한 설계와 구현을 소개한다. 우리는 R&D 프로세스를 문헌 리뷰와 연구 가설 설정 등을 수행하는 '사전 단계,' 실험과 데이터 분석 등을 수행하는 '실행 단계', 논문 작성 및 출판 등을 수행하는 '성과화 단계'로 구분하고, 이 중 '사전 단계'에 대해 프로젝트 뷰, 그룹 뷰, 문헌 뷰, 관계 뷰를 설계하고 구현하였다. 연구자는 이 플랫폼을 통해 문헌 내용 및 문헌 간 복잡한 연관성을 신속하게 파악할 수 있으며, 플랫폼은 연구자에 의해 자연스럽게 생성되는 사용자 정의 관계를 통해 향후 심층적인 문헌 네트워크 구축 및 분석이 가능해질 것으로 기대한다.

  • As our society leads into information age, it becomes necessary to build a new national science & technology information system responded to new social technological change. Therefore, It is needed a picture of the new economic structure to introduce a new system, but our part of science & technology information service have not taken into account of it. This paper gives the national R&D electronic information service system of science & technology in this new change a guide to the coming structure, thus allowing it to better define and position its offerings in the context of one another. The premise of this paper is that new role of it will be based on the structure of new national science & technology information system In this research results, information society of the future is going to the direction of maximizing the economies of extent and connection. The intent of Science & Technology Integrated Information System is hold the information in common, to possess accumulation benefit of the information. In this system, science & technology information fulfill its function of a R&D part in national management system, therefore cooperation among enterprise, school and research institution is easily made through the process into more enhancing the total competition of national science & technology.
