The Effect of Work Interruption on Workload and Perception of Patient Safety Culture in Ward Nurses (병동간호사의 간호업무중단이 업무부담과 환자안전문화인식에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose:This study aimed to identify the effect of work interruption that influenced workload and perception of patient safety culture on ward nurses. Methods: Participants were 184 ward nurses, with more than 12 months of work experience, from two tertiary hospitals in S city. A descriptive correlational study design was used. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis via SPSS version 27.0. Results: The results showed that general wards nurses had a higher degree of work interruption (t=5.632, p<.001) and workload (t=3.603, p<.001) compared to comprehensive nursing care service wards nurses. More interruption in nursing work caused more burden on work (γ=.440, p<.001) and led to lesser perception of patient safety culture (γ=- .199, p=.007). Finally, the regression analysis showed that work interruption had a statistically significant relevance on nurses' workload (F=20.582, p<.001) and perception of patient safety culture (F=8.792, p<.001). Conclusion: To alleviate ward nurses' work interruption and decrease the negative effect on workload and perception of patient safety culture, it is necessary to mediate nurse staffing level and the number of assistants and utilize the environment.

  • This study investigated the influence of the quality of a business management consulting service and the mediating effect of utilizing a business management consulting service. For this purpose, data was collected from 200 self-employed workers of the Moonchang market in Dasejun, the Yongdap market in Seoul and the Jatgeoeul market in Gapyeong. The result of the study are as follows. First, it was found that the quality of interaction, the quality of the result and the quality of the physical environment have significant influences over peoples' financial aptitude. Second, it was found that the quality of the interaction, the quality of the result and the quality of the physical environment have significant influences over peoples' non-financial aptitudes. Thirds, the evaluation of a mediating effect of utilization of a business management consulting service on the relationship between the quality of a business management consulting service and business performance showed that it has a significant influence in all ways and so this, proved its mediating effect. Therefor, as one of the means to activate traditional markets in Korea, it would be beneficial to actively introduce a business management consulting service and this would achieve a better performance through efforts to change the perception of employees and consultants about post-management of business management consulting services.

The Analysis of Customers Perception on Foodservice Quality according to the Types of Foodservice (단체급식소의 운영방식에 따른 이용고객의 급식 서비스 인식도 조사)

  • This research was conducted to analyze the difference of perception of employee-feeding foodservice according to the types of foodservice. To survey the perception of employee-feeding foodservice among customers, the questionnaire consisted of the perception of employee-feeding foodservice. The questionnaires were sent to randomly selected customers of employee-feeding foodservice 120 each at two public organizations, two companies and two colleges, SPSS was used for descriptive analysis, computing Cronbach's Alpha value and Anova test. 678 of users of self-managed foodservices, and 660 of contracted foodservices, total 1,338 answered for the survey. Among them 67.9%(69.9% at self-managed foodservices, 65.9% at contracted foodservices) were male and 32.1%(30.1% at self-managed foodservices, 34.1% at contracted foodservices) were female. As for the age group, twenties were the major with 48.5% at self-managed foodservices, 56.2% at contracted foodservices. For the reason of visiting cafeteria low price was answered by 40.9% at self-managed foodservices, while approachable location were ranked first by 45% at contracted foodservices. Foodservice perception evaluation of foodservice in four categories showed significant differences: quality of the foods(p<0.001), sanitation(p<0.05), tangibility(p<0.001), empathy(p<0.05). Among the four categories tangibility(2.80$\pm$0.69) showed the highest perception at self-managed foodservices, while at contracted foodservices quality of foods (2.82$\pm$0.61) was with highest recognition.

  • A totally 178 housewives in Gyeongnam were surveyed on consumer's purchase behavior and perception of branded pork. The degree of consumers' perception and reliance on the branded pork was still low. Consumers' consideration quality factors when buying pent is higher in order of safety/hygiene>taste/tenderness>meat color, In taste, consumer preferred Korean native pig meat when compared to the common meat. But the consumers have a notion that the price of Korean native pig meat was too expensive. The consumer preferred consumer group to government agency as a official approval organ for pork quality assurance. The consumers had different behavior in information channel, purchase frequency and place depending on age, income. In the development of branded pork, further studied are required on consumers' purchase behavior, perception, preference choice and decision-making process of branded pork.

  • The objectives of this study are to suggest useful directions for promotion of SNS tourism information service to the service providers through investigating the effect relationship between SNS tourism information service quality and the information sharing intention. To achieve the objectives, as a conceptual framework of the study, the literature on SNS tourism information service quality and information sharing intention were reviewed, and the empirical studies on the perception of the service users about the services was conducted. The findings showed that the 'easy acquisition' and 'interactivity' factors of SNS tourism information service quality have an effect on the information sharing intention. Accordingly, the service providers are required to enhance the service quality related to the information acquisition and interaction between users.

Global Service Quality of Service Centers in Automotive Brands to Improve Consumer-brand Relationship Quality (소비자-브랜드 관계 품질 향상을 위한 자동차 브랜드 서비스 센터의 전반적 서비스 품질에 대한 연구)

  • This study aims to examine the impacts of service quality (SQ) on consumer-brand relationship quality (BRQ), the mediation effects of brand trust (BT) in those relationships and the moderated mediation effects of BT by the level of perceived product quality (PQ). A 376 valid sample was obtained from the consumers who have visited the service centers of automotive brands. The findings demonstrate the direct effects of SQ of the service centers in automotive brands on BRQ are not significant, while the mediation effects of BT between SQ and BRQ are significant. Moreover, the findings reveal that the mediation effects of BT in the lower perception group of PQ are stronger than those in the higher group. Based on these findings, not only the necessary roles of a service center to improve BRQ but also the transferring process from service centers' SQ to building a strong brand are discussed.

  • This study aims to identify the service quality perceived by Elderly Care Service users on the basis of 'SERVPERF model' targeting the service users, and verify the mediation effects of the choice which affects the relationship between information literacy and quality. For this, 208 elderly care comprehensive service users in Jeollabuk-do were analyzed as the targets using a structural equation. The results of this study are as follows. First, service users perceived the quality level to be very high. Second, user's information literacy has a significant effect on quality perception. Third, the effect of user 's information literacy on quality was partially mediated by choice. These results suggest that there is a need to provide enough information and opportunities for users to make choices in order to maintain a high quality of service.

  • The purpose of the study is to examine culinary students' perception of the quality of an OJT(on the job training) program and to investigate their satisfaction levels clustered by the differences in it. Through the survey, the data were obtained from 348 culinary students who had experiences of an OJT program. They were analyzed by SPSS 13.0 and divided into four groups based on the differences of perception. As a result, this study showed that the more the students had a positive perception of OJT program, the more they were satisfied with the program. Therefore, this study will be of great use to seek for alternatives for the promotion of OJT program in the future.

  • The factors for service quality improvement of frozen and refrigerated warehouses are derived and the differences in perception about service quality improvement between shippers and operators of frozen and refrigerated cargos are analyzed. The objective of this study is to propose quality improvement measures for frozen and refrigerated cargo services using the importance-performance analysis (IPA). As a result, 15 analysis factors were derived. It was found through independent sample t-test that there is no difference in perception about quality improvement between shippers and operators. Furthermore, four top priority investment areas were derived from the IPA: maintaining temperature and humidity, securing variable storage space, on-time stocking and releasing, and providing information service. Meanwhile, inventory management service ability, on-time stocking and releasing, and reliable cargo storage ability needed urgent improvement. This study has industrial implications in that it proposes practical improvement measures for service quality improvement.

The Differences of Consumer Perception toward the Components of Apparel Store (의류점포 구성요인에 대한 소비자 지각의 차이)

  • This study introduced the components of apparel store, which include product and service factor to reflect the modified conception of service. The purposes of this study were to investigate the dimensions of the components of apparel store and to examine consumers' rating of importance on the components of apparel store. In addition, this study explored the effect of clothing involvement and demographic variables on importance perception. Data were collected via a questionnaire from young adult females in their twenties. The results of this study revealed five dimensions of service factor: environmental service, salesperson service, attitude and policy service related to exchange and refund, policy service related to promotion, and policy service related to convenience. Factors related to product were identified price, quality, variety, fashion, design and brand. Attitude and policy service related to exchange and refund is the most important factor that consumer perceived. Salesperson service and product quality were the second important factors. The relatively important factor in each service dimension was this : display in the environmental service, the ability of salesperson to resolve customer's complaints in the salesperson service, sales person’s courtesy in managing exchange or refund in policy service. Clothing involvement and demographic variables do affect consumers’perception on importance.
