Increasing number of corporations applies IT service management systems to optimize IT service delivery and support processes. For this reason, implementation experiences and effect of IT service management system are growing concerns for IT managers and researchers. This case study analyzes implementation experiences on an ITIL based service management systems in an medium sized corporation. The exploratory case analysis revealed that systems and service quality were improved from the implementation. This study will contribute to the successful implementation of IT service management system and developing a research model of IT service management process.

This study was conducted to examine the effect of HACCP implementation on the cost of medicine use, antibiotic utilization, and productivity of swine in Korea. Data were collected from forty-five swine farms before and after implementation of a HACCP system. The cost of medicine used, the number of different antibiotics used and the number of feeds containing antibiotic supplements added at the feed company tended to be lower (p>0.05) after HACCP implementation. Additionally, the number of feeds containing antibiotics supplemented at the farm was significantly lower after HACCP implementation (p<0.05). Moreover, the number of piglets born per sow per year and pigs marketed per sow per year were higher after HACCP implementation (22.0, 20.0) than before HACCP implementation (20.4, 18.9). These results suggest that implementation of HACCP systems on swine farms may provide beneficial effects such as reduction of medical expenses and improved productivity, as well as increased safety of livestock products for consumers.

현대인의 바쁜 일상은 원하는 정보를 즉시 획득하고자 하는 소비자의 요구를 증대시키고 있고, 정보서비스 제공자의 입장에서도 언제, 어디서나 이용할 수 있는 서비스 환경의 제공은 정보서비스의 가치를 높일 수 있는 중요한 요소가 되었다. 이렇게 시간, 공간의 제약을 뛰어넘는 정보요구를 만족시키기 위한 궁극적인 대안으로 모바일 정보서비스에 대한 수요와 공급이 증가하고 있다. 본 고에서는 이동통신망과 이동통신용 단말기를 정보전달의 매개로 삼아 정보서비스를 제공하기 위한 시스템 구축과 서비스 제공 문제를 살펴보았다. 먼저 모바일 환경에서 제공되고 있는 정보서비스 제반 환경을 살펴보았고, 정보서비스를 제공하기 위한 시스템 구축시 기본적으로 필요로 하는 콘텐트, 네트워크, 플랫폼, 이용환경 등의 제반 구성요소를 실무적인 관점에서 고찰하였다.

서비스 비즈니스 분야는 프로세스나 상품 유형 등에 있어서 다양하여 상호 의사소통이나 학습의 공유가 중요한데도 불구하고, 그동안 학술적이고 체계적인 연구가 미흡하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 서비스의 과학적 접근을 위한 연구 이슈를 검토하고 분류하는 탐색적 연구를 시도하였다. 본 연구에서는 서비스 연구 영역을 체계적인 프레임워크에 따라 제시한 Ostrom 등의 최근 연구에 기반하여, 서비스 혁신의 관점에서 서비스 실행의 영역의 '서비스 브랜딩 및 판매', '공동 창조를 통한 서비스 경험 향상', 그리고 '서비스 가치의 측정과 최적화'를 대상으로 하며, 공통 주제인 '서비스 확산을 위한 기술적용' 영역을 포함한 주제영역을 대상으로 각 분야별로 중요한 연구 실적, 향후 연구 동향, 연구 사례를 소개하였으며, 앞으로 연구가 활성화되어야 이슈 등을 제시하였다.

Currently, the VHE (suggested for global roaming user to provide personal service environment) implementation scenario is being proposed to realize 3G network requirements. However, developing VHE scenarios are focused on signal flow between node and network, and network and network. this case may result in weakness to protect subscriber's privacy in 3G network which commonly uses visited network. In this paper, we reanalyze a several VHE implementation scenarios for user profile protection, indicate a problem concerning user privacy, and finally, design a procedure to cope with vulnerability in VHE implementation scenario.

This paper is addressed to Internet telephony based service implementation. It describes an implementation method which uses ARS as a gateway which combines Internet and traditional public switched telephone network for Internet information service using telephony and fax, is different to traditional Internet telephony which provide enhanced speech quality and low cost functionality. This method allows telephony and/or fax user to get Internet information without additional Internet bill, Internet infrastructure and low connection quality from low signal bandwidth connected him. Implemented system is useful to a special kind information service such as climate information of Korea etc and simpler than WAP based service as for wireless mobile telephony user. We implement job opportunity information and advertisement service supported by Home page of Choong Book Small & Medium Business Administration and e-mail service supported by Korean Society for Rehabilitation of persons with Disabilities to demonstrate the system ability. As a result of test implementation, this service system works good fur blind persons and graduated persons without job, is expected to apply for special Internet information provider via Voice and Fax.

The purpose of this study was to identify hair salon's implementation strategies and current service condition for mass customization. The questionnaire was composed of 82 questions. 115 hair salon's directors were subjects of this study. The results were as follows: Hair salon's mass customization strategies were categorized into 6 factors such as staff's technique, communication service, electronic products, monetary support, man-to-man service, and dissatisfaction removal service. Hair salons were categorized into 2 groups of a high implementation group and a low implementation group. A high implementation group had a higher monthly sales and more regular customers and staff. The hair salons were franchises and were more spacious in the high group. They were located at fashion street, department store, or outlet mall, and offered fashionable hair styles. However, a low implementation group had a lower monthly sales and less regular customers and staffs. The size of hair salon was small in the low group. They were located in residential areas and offered basic hair styles.

The objective of this study was to investigate the problems and benefits associated with the implementation of HACCP on livestock product of plants in Korea. The survey was carried out by randomly selecting 115 HACCP accredited meat processing plants, all across the country. A total of 105 complete responses were selected for analysis. The results were as follows: approximately 60% of the respondents employed less than twenty workers. The average period of operating HACCP system was 3.4 years. The respondents replied that the major incentive to implement the HACCP system was to improve hygiene management ability. More than half of the respondents (59.05%) claimed that the implementation of the HACCP system cost less than 400 million won, and the highest investment in terms of cost was the freezer/refrigerator. In the preparation period taken to implement the HACCP system, the 6-12 mon category had the highest percentage (55.24%). Most respondents replied that there was an increase in the customer satisfaction, plant image and turnover, after HACCP implementation (p<0.05). A total of 98.09% of respondents had the opinion that their plant workers had improved in their understanding of food hygiene by HACCP implementation (p<0.05). Approximately 79% of respondents indicated that customer complaints decreased, as a result of HACCP implementation.

We present CReMeS, a CORBA-compliant design and implementation of a new real-time communication service. It provide for of a new real-time communication service. It provide for efficient, predictable, and scalable communication between information producers and consumers. Experimental results demonstrate that CReMeS can achieve better performance, predictability and scalability than a Real-Time implementaion of the CORBA Event Service.

The realization of u-City is coming near in some local governments by applying various city services, namely, u-City services to the city construction field to improve competitiveness of the city. But it is a reality that some local governments are experiencing many trial and errors in application of the u-City service in addition to the problem posing that the u-City service is not considering characteristics of development or application environment of an individual city. The present research proposes a service model for on-site application of the u-City service to solve this problem. The proposed model suggests a method for specifically conceptualizing and objectifying the on-site application that the existing concept-oriented model or an architecture-oriented model, etc. didn't provide. The verification system on effectiveness or effects of the u-City service model to remove ambiguity on the u-City service especially. The verification system of the u-City service model grasps the technology, function, procedure and target, etc. that the u-City service contains, evaluates whether the model satisfies conditions that the model should have, and secures objectivity and predictability of the u-City service model through confirmation on propriety, implementation and effectiveness, etc.
