도로시설물 자산관리를 위한 서비스수준체계 개발 (Development of Level of Service System for Road Infrastructure Asset Management)

  • PURPOSES: The aim of this paper is developing user-oriented flexible Level Of Service (LOS) system for integrated asset management of various road facilities. It is essential to overcome limitations of general management systems which only focus on a type of assets (e.g. pavement, bridge etc.), and to serve a customizable LOS platform for smooth implementation and future improvement of the LOS considering various managerial environments of road agencies. METHODS: This study suggested a total framework of the LOS system as a process for self-development, operation and improvement of LOS system to conduct the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) in management process. In the process, we adopted user-customizable elements regarding asset definition, service index and evaluation method to match with the managerial environment of road agencies. In addition, we conducted an empirical study on the entire process of the suggested LOS system with a real road agency (Korea Express Highway) to prove applicability of the LOS system. RESULTS: From the empirical study, we confirmed that the suggested LOS system framework were suitable for development of customized LOS system. In addition, evaluation of asset conditions by LOS ratings, and quantification of vision achievement of the Korea Express Highway were successfully made. It would be the first trial in integrated management approach with LOS systems for numerous road facilities. CONCLUSIONS : It was recognized that easy application and sustainable improvement of the LOS was the most critical point in asset management. The suggested LOS system would be a powerful weapon as a managerial tool in preparing tight budget, aging infrastructures, and increased demands for more accountability both in Korea and internationally. Implementation of the LOS system needs to be expanded to the other infrastructure members to serve satisfactory level of service to taxpayers.

  • 주문형 비디오 서비스는 방송사 입장에서 기존 수신료와 광고 기반의 수익모델 외에 추가적인 수익모델을 제공하기 때문에 각 방송사들은 자신만의 주문형 비디오 서비스를 개발하고 매출 증대를 위하여 빈번하게 개선 작업을 수행하고 있기 때문에 개발업체는 주문형 비디오 서비스 개발의 효율성을 높이는 방법을 모색하고 있다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 개발업체의 요구를 근거로 주문형 비디오 서비스 개발에 피처지향 분석모델을 적용하기 위한 기반 연구를 수행하였다. 피처지향 분석모델은 다 수의 사례연구들을 통해 선택적 기능들이 많은 소프트웨어의 사용자 요구사항 분석에 효율적인 방법으로 인정받고 있다. 본 논문은 미국 카네기 멜론대학 SEI에서 개발한 FODA (Feature-Oriented Domain Analysis)를 활용하여 주문형 비디오 서비스의 피처모델을 개발하고, 피처모델에서 규명된 피처들과 피처들 간 논리적 관계를 바탕으로 주문형 비디오 서비스의 기능들을 명세하고, 그 기능들을 테스트할 수 있는 테스트케이스들을 설계하였다. 이런 일련의 연구는 주문형 비디오 서비스 개발에 피처지향 분석모델을 적용하기 위한 토대를 이룬다.

기혼여성의 피임행위 예측을 위한 계획적 행위이론(Theory of Planned Behavior) 검증 연구 (Testing the Theory of Planned Behavior in the Prediction of Contraceptive Behavior among Married Women.)

  • The purpose of this study was to test the Theory of Planned Behavior in the prediction of contraceptive behavior among married women. This study used a descriptive correlational design to examine the relationships among the study variables. Eighty married women in Seoul and Kyungki-do participated in this study, Research instruments used were the tool for measuring TPB variables search as attitude toward contraception, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and intention ; and the tool for measuring contraceptive behavior. The former was modified by the researcher according to Ajzen & Fishbein(1980)'s guidelines for tool development and Jee (1993)'s tool. The latter was developed by the researcher Data was collected from July 20, 1996 to October 25, 1996. The results are as follows ; The three factors, attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control of contraception can explain 30% of the variance in contraceptive intention. Inspection of path coefficient for each of the three predictor variables revealed that subjective norm and perceived behavioral control were the predictor variables on intention, while attitude was not. ; and intention and percevied behavioral control factors can explain 42% of the variance in contraceptive behavior. Inspection of path coefficient for each of the two predictor variables revealed that intention and perceived behavioral control were the predictor variables on behavior. In conclusion, this study identified that Theory of Planned Behavior was a useful model in the prediction of contraceptive behavior, and the contraceptive service program based on the TPB variables would be an effective nursing intervention for the change in contraceptive behavior.

가속도계를 이용한 궤도틀림 측정용 모델의 개발 (Development of models for measuring track irregularities using accelerometers)

  • This paper is focused on development of models for measuring lateral and vertical track irregularities from corresponding accelerometers of an in-service high-speed train. Generally, the track irregularity was measured by a special railway inspection vehicle or system with contact or non-contact sensors. However, the sensors are very expensive and vulnerable to a harsh environment. Displacement estimation from an inertial measurement unit and its wave-band filtering was already developed in the previous study, and it was found that their results included not only the track irregularities but also other information such as phase delay of the applied filters, and suspension and conicity of the wheel. To identify the track irregularities from those results, a compensation filtering method was proposed. Each directional compensation filter was derived by using a system identification method with the estimated directional displacement as input and the corresponding track irregularities as output. In this paper, they are integrated into a model for each direction and applied to the measured lateral and vertical acceleration data from the axle-box and bogie of an in-service high-speed train. Their results are compared with the data from the track geometry measurement system. From the comparison, the proposed models are a useful tool for the measurement of the track irregularities using accelerometers of in-service high-speed trains.

Virtual Assembly Analysis Tool and Architecture for e-Design and Realization Environment

  • Many customers are no longer satisfied with mass-produced goods. They are demanding customization and rapid delivery of innovative products. Many companies are now realizing that the best way to reduce life cycle costs is to evolve a more effective product development paradigm using Internet and web based technologies. Yet there remains a gap between current market demands and product development paradigms. The existing CAD systems require that product developers possess all the design analysis tools in-house making it impractical to employ all the needed and newest tools. Hence, this paper addresses how assembly operation analysis can be embedded transparently and remotely into a service-oriented collaborative assembly design environment. A new assembly operation analysis framework is introduced and a relevant architecture and tools are developed to realize the framework. Instead of the current sequential process for verifying and validating an assembly design, a new Virtual Assembly Analysis (VAA) method is introduced in the paper to predict the various effects of joining during actual collaborative design. As a case study, arc welding and riveting processes are investigated. New service-oriented VAA architecture and its VAA components are proposed and implemented on prototype mechanical assemblies.

A software-assisted comparative assessment of the effect of cement type on concrete carbonation and chloride ingress

  • Utilization of supplementary cementing materials (SCM) by the cement industry, as a highly promising solution of sustainable cement development aiming to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, necessitates a more thorough evaluation of these types of materials on concrete durability. In this study a comparative assessment of the effect of SCM on concrete durability, of every cement type as defined in the European Standard EN 197-1 is taking place, using a software tool, based on proven predictive models (according to performance-related methods for assessing durability) developed and wide-validated for the estimation of concrete service life when designing for durability under harsh environments. The effect of Type II additives (fly ash, silica fume) on CEM I type of cement, as well as the effect of every Portland-composite type of cement (and others) are evaluated in terms of their performance in carbonation and chloride exposure, for a service life of 50 years. The main aim is to portray a unified and comprehensive evaluation of the efficiency of SCM in order to create the basis for future consideration of more types of cement to enter the production line in industry.

웹서비스 저장소의 검색기법에 관한 실증적 연구 (Empirical Research on Search model of Web Service Repository)

  • 월드와이드웹 (WWW)은 유용한 정보를 포함하는 자료들의 집합에서 유용한 작업을 수행할 수 있는 서비스들의 집합으로 변화하고 있다. 새롭게 등장하고 있는 웹서비스 기술은 향후 웹의 기술적 변화를 추구하며 최근 웹의 변화에 중요한 역할을 수행할 것으로 기대된다. 웹서비스는 어플리케이션 간의 통신을 위한 호환성 표준을 제시하며 기업 내/외를 아우를 수 있는 어플리케이션 상호작용 및 통합을 촉진한다. 웹서비스가 서비스 지향 컴퓨팅환경으로서 운영하기 위해서는 웹서비스 저장소가 완성도 높게 구축되어 있어야 할 뿐 아니라, 사용자들의 필요에 맞는 웹서비스 컴포넌트를 찾을 수 있는 효율적인 도구들을 제공하여야 한다. 서비스 지향 컴퓨팅을 위한 웹서비스의 중요성이 증대됨에 따라 웹서비스의 발견을 효율적으로 지원할 수 있는 기법의 수요 또한 증대된다. 다수의 웹서비스 저장소들은 웹서비스 분류체계 및 검색기법들을 제안하여 왔지만, 대부분의 분류체계와 기존의 검색기법들은 실질적으로 활용하기에는 제대로 발달하지 못하였거나 지속적이고 체계적으로 관리하기에 너무 어려운 단점을 갖고 있다. 이 논문에서는 인공신경망 기반 군집화 기법과 XML 기반의 웹서비스 기술표준인 WSDL의 의미적 가치를 활용하여 웹서비스 분류체계 생성 프레임워크를 통한 복합 검색기법을 제안한다. 이 논문에서 인공신경망을 활용하여 제안하는 웹서비스 분류체계 생성 프레임워크는 실증적인 프로토타입 시스템으로 개발하였으며, 실제 운영되고 있는 웹서비스 저장소로부터 획득한 실제 웹서비스들을 사용하여 제안하는 웹서비스 복합 검색기법을 실증적으로 평가하였다. 또한 제안하는 방식의 효용성을 보여주는 의미 있는 실험결과를 보고한다.

과학교육 관련 자기이해와 변화역량 조사 도구 개발 및 적용 -초등예비교사의 인식을 중심으로- (Development and Application of Questionnaire for Self-Understanding and Change Capacity Related to Science Education: Focus on the Recognition of Pre-Service Elementary Teachers)

  • 본 연구는 초등예비교사들을 대상으로 과학교육 관련 자기이해와 변화역량에 대한 인식 조사 도구를 개발하고, 이를 활용하여 초등예비교사들이 가지고 있는 자기이해와 자신의 변화역량에 대한 인식을 조사하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 먼저 선행 연구 검토와 토론 등을 거쳐 초등예비교사들의 자기이해와 변화역량에 대한 인식 조사 도구를 제작하였다. 설문지의 전반부는 자기이해와 관련되는데 '자기개념 명료성', '진로정체성', '자기효능감'을 요인으로 하여, '초등예비교사로서의 자기이해'(12개 문항)와 '초등과학예비교사로서의 자기이해'(12개 문항)에 대한 내용으로 구성하였다. 설문지의 후반부는 '변화감수성', '목표의식', '협력', '성찰', '숙달'을 요인으로 하는 변화역량에 관한 내용으로, '일반적인 변화역량'(17개 문항)과 '초등예비교사로서의 변화역량'(17개 문항), '초등과학예비교사로서의 변화역량'(17개 문항)에 대하여 각각 인식 조사 문항을 작성하였다. 이 조사 도구를 사용하여 153명의 초등예비교사들을 대상으로 자기이해와 변화역량에 대한 인식을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등예비교사들은 자기이해와 변화역량에 대해 대체로 긍정적인 인식을 가지고 있었지만 초등과학예비교사로서의 자기이해와 변화역량에 대한 인식은 상대적으로 덜 긍정적이었다. 둘째, 초등과학예비교사로서의 자기 이해와 변화역량 요인들은 대체로 유의미한 상관을 가지고 있었으며, 특히 자기이해의 '자기효능감'과 변화역량의 '목표의식', '숙달' 사이에 높은 상관이 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 자기이해와 변화역량 관련 과학 교육을 위한 몇 가지 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

우수교수의 동작수업을 통한 예비교사들의 지식변화와 수업의 특성 탐색 (Research on how Pre-service Teachers' Knowledge Changed in Movement Instruction Under the Guidance of an Expert Professor)

  • Objective: This study explores how pre-service teachers' knowledge changed in the field of movement education and the characteristics of the instruction they perceived during a 15-week course. Methods: The drawing of concept maps and interviews were used to discuss how pre-service teachers' knowledge changed and the characteristics of the course. Results: The results showed that the pre-service teachers interrelated concepts in a more systematic way, and the concepts they used were increased while master concepts were decreased, indicating that their knowledge changed in a far more hierarchical order after the class. Characteristics of the course that led to a change in their knowledge appeared under the proper guidance of a professor. This was well demonstrated by feedback and evaluation at the stage of planning instruction and simulation teaching. Conclusion/Implications: The study demonstrated that the proper guidance of a professor was a useful tool for fostering the professional development of pre-service teachers in regard to constructing knowledge in movement education.

Development of a Multiplex RT-PCR for the Simultaneous Detection of Three Viruses in Cherry Plants

  • A multiplex RT-PCR (mRT-PCR) assay was developed for the detection of the recently reported viruses, Cherry virus A (CVA), Little cherry virus 1 (LChV-1), and Little cherry virus 2 (LChV-2), in cherry plants in Korea. Eight sets of primers were designed for each virus and their specificity was tested by using various combinations of mixed primer sets. From the designed primer sets, one combination was selected and further evaluated to estimate the optimum temperature and detection limits of the mRT-PCR. A newly developed mRT-PCR assay was also tested using 20 cherry samples collected in the field. This mRT-PCR assay may be a useful tool for field surveys of diseases and the rapid detection of these three viruses in cherry plants.
