  • Recently, the need to prevent or treat cognitive impairment in older adults has been arising. In particular, they tried to diagnose MCI as an early stage of Alzheimer's disease and to delay the progression to dementia through training cognitive function. Most of cognitive function training have been manufactured to game contents which related to several cognitive function, and it needs to be verified quantitatively whether subjects are paying attention to cognitive function training. Thus in this study, we measured and analyzed EEG signals while performing attention training game contents. As an analysis method, we utilized CI, which shows how much they are focusing on, and RI, which shows how stable they are. The result of this study can be seen that all the subjects' CI were increased, which means that the subjects performed game contents with concentration.

  • With the diversification of payment methods and games, related financial accidents are causing serious problems for users and game companies. Recently, game companies have introduced an Fraud Detection System (FDS) for game payment systems to prevent financial incident. However, FDS is ineffective and cannot provide major evidence based on judgment results, as it requires constant change of detection patterns. In this paper, we analyze abnormal transactions among payment log data of real game companies to generate related features. One of the unsupervised learning models, Autoencoder, was used to build a model to detect abnormal transactions, which resulted in over 85% accuracy. Using X-FDS (Explainable FDS) with XAI-SHAP, we could understand that the variables with the highest explanation for anomaly detection were the amount of transaction, transaction medium, and the age of users. Based on X-FDS, we derive an improved detection model with an accuracy of 94% was finally derived by fine-tuning the importance of features that adversely affect the proposed model.

  • Recently, the drone industry is rapidly expanding as it is suggested that it will be used in various fields. As the size of the drone market grows, interest in drone-related certificates is also increasing. However, the current drone-related qualification system and education system are insufficient. Thus this study, analyzed the necessity of drone training, the features of functional games, and the effectiveness of educational training using AR through related technical studies to solve the practical difficulties of drone educational training. Later, drone educational training game contents using AR were divided into practice mode and test mode based on the drone national qualification course practical test, and the result screen was displayed at the end of the curriculum so that players could learn by level and evaluate the results on their own. In addition, constructed a hybrid processing system and network and AR operation system for response rate and response speed, implemented drone training game contents utilizing AR based on the design contents. It is expected that the use of game content using AR presented in this paper for drone training will further alleviate environmental difficulties and improve the sense of immersion in play, which will lead to a more effective drone educational training experience.

  • In order to verify the factors affecting the acceptance of Serious Games for Healthcare (SGHs), this study developed a hierarchical model of general and specific benefit and risk factors affecting the intention to use SGHs based on the valence framework. As a result based on 199 samples, it was revealed that perceived customization and perceived schedule flexibility had a positive effect on the perceived benefits, which, in turn, had a positive effect on the intention to use SGHs. However, among the specific risk factors, only privacy risk had a positive effect on perceived risk, but it did not have a effect on SGHs usage intention. The results related to the fact that the survey respondents were potential users of SGHs and the bias that may overestimate the benefits provided by SGHs called optimistic bias. Based on these findings, some implications were presented such as the spread and distribution of SGHs to the ordinary persons, improvement of negative perceptions of games, and the need for data-based services to refine customized services for SGHs.

  • Casual games are easy in terms of control and mode, and thus everyone can enjoy them in their free time. Character games, in particular, feature a variety of cute and attractive characters. Such character games are now available for smartphones, which are used by a large number of users, as well as for PCs. This paper is aimed at demonstrating the design of 2D side-scrolling casual shooting games utilizing Unity 3D Engine, which can be manipulated on smartphones. Unity 3D engine was used because it supports multi-platform with low costs, and it makes it possibile for games to be operated on various platforms using a single program source code. This approach is unique because the design of the games uses cute characters, attractive concepts and easy control, targeting users in their 10s or 20s, unlike existing shooting games that are serious.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of a senior functional game (Rejuvenescent village) on cognitive function, instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), depression, and life satisfaction in Korea. Methods: An one-group pretest-posttest design was used in this study. Data were collected twice (at the beginning and the end) from 100 elderly adults in S city who played "Rejuvenescent village" 8 times (twice per week, one hour per session) for a month. Also they completed questionnaires on their cognitive function, IADL, depression, life satisfaction, and general characteristics. The data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 programs. Results: The mean age was 70.06(${\pm}3.77$) years, with a range of 65-80 years old. Among 100 subjects, 21% were male and 85% were young old. There were statistically significant differences in cognitive function (t=-3.32, p=.001), IADL (t=1.98, p=.049), and life satisfaction (t=-2.15, p=.034). Although there was no statistically significant difference in mean depression score (t=1.06, p=.292), categorized depression was statistically significant (${\chi}^2=62.97$, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings in this study show that the serious game (Rejuvenescent village) was effective for older Koreans' cognitive function, IADL, depression, and life satisfaction. Thus, we need to consider senior functional games to get health benefits by making elderly adults active with enjoyment.

  • Dementia once occurred is known to be mostly irreversible but can be treated only if it is detected early; especially vascular Dementia. Thus, in this paper we have developed Dementia diagnosis and care application through inter-working between biometric sensors and smart phone. With developing serious game for the demented elderly, we proposed ons-stop solution for Dementia; smart-phone application with diagnosis, prevention and mitigation of Dementia. Since the proposed game for mitigating Dementia requires sense of space and balance using both arms instead of operating simple arrow button, a treatment effect for Dementia will be doubled. If we tried to forestall, ease and cure Dementia with the proposed application. the social losses from Dementia would be minimized as a result.
