ARM Core(R)를 이용한 AMR-WB+ 오디오 부호화기의 실시간 구현 (Real-time Implementation of the AMR-WB+ Audio Coder using ARM Core(R))

  • 본 논문에서는 AMR Core(R)를 이용해서 AMR-WB+ 오디오 부호화기를 실시간 구현하였다. 구현 시 사용된 최적화 방법은 어셈블리어 단계에서 수행되었고, latency를 제거하고 32비트 레지스터를 사용하였다. 구현된 음성 부호화기는 평균 복잡도가 ARM9E 버전에서 인코더 160.76MHz, 디코더 33.05MHz으로 총 193.81MHz로 측정되었다. 사용된 ROM의 크기는 인코더 65.21Kbyte, 디코더 32.01Kbyte, 공통소스 279.81Kbyte이다. 구현된 AMR-WB+ 소스 코드는 3GPP에서 제공하는 테스트 벡터들을 CodeWarrior와 목표 PDA 상에서 모두 bit-exact하게 통과함을 보임으로써 검증되었다.

보이드 분포 형태에 따른 LDPE의 부분 방전 특성 연구 (A Study on the partial Discharge Characteristics according to the Distribution pattern of voids within LDPE)

  • Internal voids located within an insulation will arise partial discharge that causes local breakdown and even the entire insulation breakdown. For HV apparatuses, it is usual case that several voids are formed within non-uniform electric field condition rather than single void within uniform field, which can be solved analitically. The purpose of this work is to study partial discharge and breakdown characteristics of an insulation according to the distribution pattern of two disc-type voids that are located within non-uniform field. The results from numerical field analysis and experiments show that the electric field within the voids decreases as they are arranged more serially, which accordingly results in the increase of partial discharge inception field(PDIF) much higher than that of single void model. With parallel arranged voids, PDIF is almost the same as that of single void model. On the other hand, AC breakdown strength decreases as voids are arranged more serially, which is a natural result considering the reduction of effective insulation thickness. For parallel voids, this effect cannot he noticed where as they show different pattern compared with single void and serial void models in $\Phi$-Q-N analysis. Considering these results may leads us to the conclusion that, in the evaluation of insulating products through PD test, it is not sufficient to determine only PDIV or existence of PD at predetermined voltage level. We could evaluate more accurately by considering all the available data such as PDIV, PD magnitude, PD occurring phase, number of PD pulses, and etc.

Inhibitory effect on Streptococcus mutans and mechanical properties of the chitosan containing composite resin

  • Objectives: This study evaluated the antibacterial effect and mechanical properties of composite resins ($L_{CR}$, $M_{CR}$, $H_{CR}$) incorporating chitosan with three different molecular weights (L, Low; M, Medium; H, High). Materials and Methods: Streptococcus (S). mutans 100 mL and each chitosan powder were inoculated in sterilized 10 mL Brain-Heart Infusion (BHI) solution, and was centrifuged for 12 hr. Absorbance of the supernatent was measured at $OD_{660}$ to estimate the antibacterial activities of chitosan. After S. mutans was inoculated in the disc shaped chitosan-containing composite resins, the disc was cleansed with BHI and diluted with serial dilution method. S. mutans was spread on Mitis-salivarius bacitracin agar. After then, colony forming unit (CFU) was measured to verify the inhibitory effect on S. mutans biofilm. To ascertain the effect on the mechanical properties of composite resin, 3-point bending and Vickers hardness tests were done after 1 and 3 wk water storage, respectively. Using 2-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Scheffe test, statistical analysis was done with 95% significance level. Results: All chitosan powder showed inhibition effect against S. mutans. CFU number in chitosan-containing composite resins was smaller than that of control resin without chitosan. The chitosan containing composite resins did not show any significant difference in flexural strength and Vickers hardness in comparison with the control resin. However, the composite resin, $M_{CR}$ showed a slightly decreased flexural strength and the maximum load than those of control and the other composite resins $H_{CR}$ and $L_{CR}$. Conclusions: $L_{CR}$ and $H_{CR}$ would be recommended as a feasible antibacterial restorative due to its antibacterial nature and mechanical properties.

III급 부정교합에서 선수술 교정치료를 통한 양악 수술 후 안정성 (Evaluation of Skeletal Stability Following Two-jaw Surgery via Surgery First Orthodontic Treatment in Class III Malocclusion)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the postoperative skeletal stability of two-jaw surgery (Le Fort I osteotomy and bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy) via surgery first orthodontic treatment (SFOT) in class III malocclusion. Methods: Thirty-two patients who had two-jaw surgery via SFOT were included in this study. Serial lateral cephalograms were obtained before (T0), immediately after (T1), and six months after (T2) surgery. Twelve variables were measured for horizontal and vertical skeletal stability as well as for dental change. All measurements were evaluated statistically by a paired t-test ($P$ <0.05). Results: The mean skeletal changes were $0.1{\pm}2.5$ mm at point A and $-12.0{\pm}7.4$ mm at the pogonion. The mean horizontal relapse was 11.6% at the pogonion, and the mean vertical surgical changes included an upward displacement of $2.1{\pm}7.1$ mm and a forward displacement of $1.4{\pm}4.6$ mm at the pogonion. Upper incisor inclination decreased after surgery and was maintained at T2, and lower incisors were proclined from T1 to T2 by postsurgical orthodontic treatment. Conclusion: Postoperative skeletal stability of two-jaw surgery via surgery first orthodontic treatment in class III malocclusion was clinically acceptable.

Osteomyelitis following Domestic Animal Bites to the Hand: Two Case Reports and Practical Guidelines

  • Recently, the number of cases of animal bite wounds has increased significantly in concordance with an increase in the pet population around the world. The authors report two rare cases of osteomyelitis of the phalanx following cat and dog bites. On initial physical examination, signs of a severe infection were observed. Radiographs of both patients showed the presence of osteomyelitis, and in one of the patients, the diagnosis was confirmed with a bone biopsy. After use of empirical antibiotics, intravenous antibiotic therapy that matched the identified bacterium's sensitivity was initiated, and at the same time, secure dressing including debridement was performed to induce secondary healing. In addition, the patients were closely monitored with serial X-rays, and culture and blood test follow-up. One patient fully recovered without sequelae, but the other patient suffered a loss of distal interphalangeal joint motion. When dealing with bite wounds located on the hand, it is important to visit the hospital as soon as possible and receive the appropriate treatment early. Moreover, to prevent severe complications such as osteomyelitis, it is important to administer antibiotic therapy to which the cultured bacteria are sensitive, along with proper wound management and prophylactic antibiotic treatment.

초기 벨마비에서 나타나는 탈신경의 시간경과에 따른 변화: 전기생리학적 검사를 통한 확인 (Time course of the denervation in early stage of Bell's palsy.: Identification by electrophysiologic study)

  • Background: Electrophysiologic study accurately predicts the degree of degenerated motor axons but cannot give precise information on the type of injury that occurred in Bell's palsy. Because of these limitation for prognostic prediction in Bell's palsy, we evaluated divergence of electrophysiological time course for the purpose of presuming the type of injury in Bell's palsy. Methods: We did bilateral facial nerve conduction studies in 103 Bell's palsy patients, who visited to Han-Gang sacred heart hospital from 1998 to 2001. We compared the CMAP amplitude of disease site with that of normal site and suggested that decremental CMAP amplitude ratio (percentage) as a degree of denervation of affected facial nerve. Then we demonstrated the time course of denervation percentage. After defining normal range of CMAP amplitude difference from normal control group, we also evaluated if distinct time course of early minimal denervation is present. Results: Our results show that time course of the denervation in early stage of Bell's palsy reflect various injury type such as axonotmesis, neurotmesis or other unidentified type. We cannot identify the distinct time course of early minimal denervation. Conclusions: The time course as well as the maximal value of denervation are the best prognostic guidelines in Bell' s palsy. So repeated serial electrophysiologic test are inevitable to assess prognosis. As an another topic, early minimal denervation for prognostic prediction deserve to be evaluated as a future work up for prognostic prediction.

  • 환경친화적인 자동차 제조 방법에는 몇 가지 방법이 있다. 하이브리드 전기자동차는 가장 현실적인 방법일 것이다. 하이브리드 전기자동차는 내연기관과 전기장치의 두 가지 동력을 사용한다. 하이브리드 전기자동차는 연료소비와 배기가스 저감을 위해서 개발되었다. 저자들은 하이브리 전기자동차의 주요 동력원으로 디젤 기관을 선택했다. 테스트는 도심버스주행모드와 고속도로주행모드가 사용되었다. 본 연구는 직렬하이브리드 전기자동차, 병렬하이브리드 전기자동차, 플러그인 직렬 전기자동차와 플러그인 병렬 전기자동차에 따른 중형디젤 하이브리드 자동차의 연료경제성과 배기가스의 시뮬레이션의 결과를 제시하고 있다.

  • Streptomyces griseorubiginosus var. soyoensis 에 의하여 두가지의 항진균성 항생물질이 생성되었는데 하나는 trans-cinnamamide 이었고 다른 하나는 UV, IR, NMR, mass spectrum 및 화학반응의 결과로 새로운 tetraene계 화합물임이 밝혀져 이 물질을 Tetraene KM-A라 하였다. 본 물질의 항균성을 조사한 결과 곰팡이 및 효모류에 대하여는 강한 항진균성을 나타내었으나 항세균성은 없었다. 배지에 sterol류를 첨가하였을때 Tetraene KM-A의 항균력이 없어지는 것으로 보아 stesoid와 결함함을 알수 있고 항균작용도 이와 관련이 있는 것으로 판단하였다. Tetraene KM-A의 mouse 및 rat에 대한 복강주사에 의한 $LD_{50}$ 은 각각 84.3과 90.4mg/kg이였으며 mouse에 대만 경구독성은 1503mg/kg이었다.

소형 발전기의 에너지 절약을 위한 전력관리 시스템 개발 (Development of Power Management System for Efficient Energy Usage of Small Generator)

  • 본 논문에서는 2대 이상의 소형 발전기를 사용하는 환경에서 부하의 전력 소비량을 이용하여 에너지를 절약하는 전력 관리 시스템을 제안하고 개발하였다. 고속의 하드웨어 플로팅 포인트 연산처리가 가능한 TI사의 TMS320C6713 DSP 칩을 사용하여 하드웨어를 구성하였으며, 시리얼 통신을 이용하여 모니터링 PC와 통신하게 하였다. 모니터링 PC에서 수동제어가 가능하도록 하였으며, DSP main board에서 CT/PT센서로 수집한 데이터를 이용하여 자동적으로 발전기를 on/off 할 수 있도록 구현하였다. 실험 결과 본 논문에서 제안한 전력 관리 시스템이 이상 없이 동작하는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 부하의 전력사용량을 이용하여 에너지를 절약하는 알고리즘을 적용하였을 경우 소형 발전기 2대를 지속적으로 사용할 때 보다 더욱 오래 전력을 공급하는 것을 알 수 있었다.
